We selected the restaurant because it's about halfway between us and the couple we were meeting. It was good, not great. The ambience is cozy. However, we were seated in the room with the bar, where tables are uncomfortably close together. If I returned, I'd ask to be seated in the non-bar area. The service was attentive, wine was reasonably priced, food was above average but didn't knock our socks off. For example, the scallops were cooked perfectly, they just weren't delicious. Portions were adequate, not generous, if that's a concern. For us, it was just right. The only thing we truly disliked was the flourless chocolate cake, which tasted like wax. The restaurant has a cute heated terrace that's probably popular in cool but not cold weather. I'd recommend, just not with great enthusiasm.
Met friends at the bar... EXCELLENT service from Katrina our bar tender.Delicious wines and mussels too!
This was our first visit to the restaurant and loved the drink selection and our dinners. We were surprised that the waiter remembered that we got a flat tire the first time we made a reservation and had to cancel. We received our first drink on the house!
I always enjoy my dining experience at Pairings. The food is great and the atmosphere and ambiance is exceptional. It’s definitely my favorite restaurant in Hartford County. Only one complaint. We had a fan blowing on us going faster than the others in the room. That’s a pet peeve of mine when dining. We asked them to turn it down after the others in the area had left, but it was still uncomfortable and faster than the others.
Great experience - loved our food and the atmosphere. Great option for local Bel Air dining for quality food.
Have driven by the location for over two years never stopped always went into Bel Air. It was an enjoyable evening with the four course pairing. Everything was on elevated side so the prices also. Will stop again.
Our service was very slow and the waiter didn't seem to care. The food was fair not over the top.
Alexis , the bartender was trying her best. I missed my regular bartender (Tuesday night) Katrina. Cape Cod mussels were delicious.
Food has become average. Used to be much better!
Great food and atmosphere. Really enjoyed the menu items. Definitely will go again!
This was the worst service experience I have experienced in quite a while. I’m not sure if our server ( who is friendly) was over extended or The timeliness of the bar tender was the issue... my wife and I have tried to secure a table at parings to experience it.... clearly the experience was subpar.
My friend and I enjoyed a quiet lunch there. I had asked for a quiet table and the hostess was aware and gave us a couple choices. Nice personal touch. My friend had Lobster/Crab, which came under sandwiches. It presented more like a salad on top of flatbread, which she said was delicious. I had the Golden Beet salad with grilled chicken. Absolutely the best grilled chicken i think i,ve ever had. Done to perfection! Have never been disappointed when i have had the opportunity to dine there.
Food was great. Server gave my husband his two appetizers, so I watched him eat for 20 mins with no food, then my soup & salad came, so he watched me eat & I felt rushed. The order was all out of whack... which unfortunately affected our experience. But honestly, we will definitely go back. Amazing food & ambiance. Maybe just a miscommunication.
Excellent food and wonderful selection of wines. Service was excellent too. We did some sharing of apps and wine and had a great holiday dinner.
Wonderful food—delicious and beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant never disappoints. The food here is phenomenal and the pairing with wine are on point. This is our go to place for special occasion dinners. The menu changes so it's always a new experience. I order dishes here I normally wouldn't because we have yet to find something we don't like. Our waiter was excellent. Very personable and knowledgeable. My husband ordered a glass of wine to start and it happened to be one of the pairings. The waiter took it upon himself to pick another complementary wine with that dish so he didn't end up with the same wine twice.
We had a nice dinner as always. The bistro steak was very good and the chicken and risotto was delicious. The cream of crab was good and I was glad they added the piece of bread with it, it was omitted last time.
Just 3 friends catching up with each other. Waiter was fantastic - giving us time to review the menu, giving suggestions, & letting us have uninterrupted time to talk & enjoy our meal.
One of our favorite stops in the area, the food has never disappointed worth the $$
Consistently great food and service. We get our usual fare, the cheese and charcuterie, mussels, flash grilled romaine Caesar salad, sliders and this time, we also enjoyed the market fish special with whipped turnip-Amazing!
Such a great place to eat. It is not cheap, but the food is excellent. Small menu so they can really focus on the meals. Great wine and beer selections.
I set the bar high and Katrina my server/bartender was excellent. Her attention to detail is unbelievable as is her memory. This is definitely my favorite place.
Great evening to celebrate a special occasion. Food and presentation are excellent. My wife had the shrimp & grits and said she was going to re-order on our next visit. I had the duck which was also excellent, although being more adventurous, there are way too many choices to stick with one. We will definitely be back and introduce to our friends and family. Thank you for making my wife's Birthday a great experience.
Had superior service and delicious food. Will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
I had a 14oz local steak. Super tender and best flavor I’ve had in a long time!
As always . Fantastic food and wines
Nice atmosphere but very noisy when busy. Food is well prepared and presented but portions are not large.
Great atmosphere and ambiance. Special place for a special occasion. Food was delicious; desserts needed a little more variety.
This staff and waiter know how to treat life’s special moments. We recommend Pairings to all our friends and will continue to return
Excellent dinner and service, our server Michelle was amazing. She has been our server a couple of times now and she is one of the best.
Felt sick after eating the fish.
Would not recommend this restaurant.
Katrina, my bartender/Server was attentive and friendly throughout My dinner service tonight. She has been that way the last three times I’ve been to the restaurant And had her as my server/bartender
We got their full experience which is 5 courses and a 3 ounce glass of wine with each. This cost $79 per person, but for great food why not on a special occasion? Except we did not get great food. The food was good, not great but just good until the main course got to us. Both me and my wife's main courses were small like other reviews said but my wife's meal was dry and burnt(shrimp and grits) and my sword fish had so much black pepper on it that I could not taste the overcooked fish. The kitchen area is open for all to see and I am not saying age makes for a good cook, but I am under the impression that everyone in the kitchen was in their teens or early 20's. To top it off we requested for our desserts to go, and the wrong deserts were sent home with us. I should have checked before leaving. The upside was that the waitress we had was good and informative.
Wonderful service and food. A bit pricey but so good and enjoyable.
Highly recommend for even the most critical and discerning palate. The menu selections are creative perfection. The wine pairings are fun and have expanded my favorites. The detail to attention is so refreshing. If you have a special occasion, the staff makes it memorable. You don’t need a special day to enjoy great locally grown and prepared food. My HArford County favorite!
Always a wonderful time to relax, enjoy the great food and drink, and reconnect with others.
I like how you can go online and make a reservation. The table was set up when we got there. Brady, our waiter, was polite, efficient and responsive to our needs. The food was delicious and very tasty. Thank you, for making my sister's 40th birthday party so much fun and enjoyable. They took care of the cake and candles, too. I like the quiet atmosphere at Pairings Bistro. You could enjoy the conservation with one another. The bathrooms were clean and had plenty of towels and toilet paper. Any coupons or discounts for next time? I might bring my husband up here for lunch.

Excellent specials today ... I had muscles Pomodoro very tasty, and every single muscle was opened and full of flavor. Also the Kith and Kim wine Cabernet Sauvignon from California was delicious as well
