Signature dishes include the Poke Trio with Shrimp Chips, Ulu Fries with Furikake and Sweet Hawaiian Mustard, Compressed Watermelon, Huli Huli Chicken with Chinese Broccoli and the Ono Knife Burger with Maui Onion Jam, Fried Egg, Avocado Bacon on a Purple Taro Bun.
The Hawaii restaurant also features a full bar with signature cocktails, an extensive wine list, and an array of desserts including Chocolate Haupia Pie, Malasadas “Donuts", and Hawaiian Sweet Bread Pudding.
The service and outdoor ambiance was wonderful. The inside is dated but we hear they have plans to remodel. Also since this is the resort’s nicest restaurant and they have a surfer bar and pool bar there shouldn’t be tv’s in this restaurant because it makes it feel like a sports bar and not reflective of a special occasion dinner restaurant. Once again the food and service were excellent.
We said on Open Table that it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
Hoping for a nice table. Didn’t even get a table by the window. Were sat in a noisy area.
I ordered an 8 oz filet and they got my order wrong. Brought out this humongous steak that was well done in some spots and raw in others.
Waitress brought out a small dessert on the house to help us celebrate but didn’t really care by that point.
These establishments need to realize that people are spending thousands of dollars to stay here and their service needs to reflect that
Food was spectacular! Macadamia crusted mahi mahi was the best fish I think I have ever had at a restaurant.
Food quality was good, though it definitely had misleading reviews. By no means was this an elevated dining experience. Our server had to be prompted several times and it was extremely loud. Considering the lack of restaurant options at Turtle Bay I guess it was worthwhile.
Server was excellent. Food was very good.
Meh - took 5 minutes to see a server. Food was ok. But ambiance stinks!
This place is really good, especially for a restaurant inside a hotel. But what really made the entire experience amazing was our server,. We met him the first night and he recommended some local places. We ended up seeing him at one of those places the next day. Then when we get back on our final
Excellent food. Great Service, great view of sunset. The marlin dip was really good. The lilikoi crème Brule dessert was excellent
New Years eve
Bartender (Mike) was outstanding! He really entertained us.
Worst dining experience. Waited 15 minutes to be seated when we had reservations and tables were left open. Then finally ordered after another 30 minutes of waiting. Everyone around us was served including people who came way after us. W waited over 1 hour to get our food. The beat part the waitress messed up the bill and never ran the card so for the ne t two hours they hounded us by phone because she forgot to run the card a second time. Terrible!
Loved it! Great view! Delicious food!
Really slow service. Had reservations and still had to wait. Waited 15 minutes just have server say hi. Maybe they were short staffed. Food was ok. View is amazing.
Celebrated our 10th anniversary here on our vacation. Staff were excellent in attending to us and helping us celebrate. The food was amazing on both nights we ate here. A little on the pricey side, but for a special night out, this was our spot.
Went for Christmas Eve Dinner with my husband and I. Food and drinks were amazing, but service was poor. Our waitress rarely checked on us and it took a long time to get our drinks. We understand that it was a Holiday but it did seem like service was slow. We did get a table outside and enjoyed the ocean view and warm breeze, and since we had eachother we were not in a hurry. Despite the slow service, we had a great time.
We were originally sat by the door leading outside, but it was very windy. When we brought our concerns to the staff the quickly reseated us. The entire evening was wonderful. Service was top notch. Highly recommend for a nice dinner.
Breathtaking view! Good service.
A complete disappointment. If you want to sit and not be waited on then this is the place for you! Don’t order any drinks unless you don’t mind waiting 20-30 minutes. To top it off we received cold food and a $200 bill.
Pa Akai used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Recently they have changed their menu and it is a disaster. The ambience and the service are still excellent; however, the new menu concept leaves a lot to be desired. Please return to your original concept and menu. The new concept is a black eye on the Turtle Bay Resort
We did not enjoy our experience at Pa’akai. My wife and I were celebrating our 5 year anniversary and we’re looking forward to a nice meal at our resort. All of the food was subpar at best, and the restaurant had the vibe of a decent hotel bar from the 80s. We ordered the Tuna appetizer and it came with 5 slices of meat, all of which were drenched in some sort of Aioli. We also ordered the sushi roll, and the portions of rice were much larger than anything I’ve had previously. The service was fine, but not anything stellar. We went to Roy’s (also at turtle bay) the night after and had a much better experience. Highly recommend that for your dinner option if you’re staying at the resort.
Great place to celebrate an Anniversary!!’
Good food, great ambience
Our server was pleasant and efficient. The lettuce for the shared lettuce wrap appetizer was partly wilted. Both my chicken and my partner’s fish were over cooked and dry. The wine list was off the charts expensive although we found a nice NZ Sauve Blanc for $48.
Loved the food and atmosphere.
We made a reservation for brunch ....and got there to find out on a Sunday they were no longer serving BRUNCH .... Never got to eat after driving an hour from the other side of the island
Not loving the new menu. And an updated menu online would be really helpful. Staff was great. Just hated the menu. Seems like there is the same type of things on every menu in the resort. Would love to see some variety. Right now it just seems like everything is asian fusion. Everything.
Sadly this restaurant is closing 11/15/19.
The casual hotel dining option will move to this location while the other area is remodeled.
We love this restaurant, with its elegant setting and outstanding food and service. We enjoyed the fresh oysters, lobster tail and ahi tataki. From past visits we can also recommend the fresh fish and scallops. It is located in the Turtle Bay Resort, which will be undergoing renovations. We hope that Pa'akai will be part of the renovated property.
Food was excellent even if a bit pricey. Service was very good. Main dishes and appetizers were very good. Dessert was ok. Altogether my party of six enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant.
We had terrific service, a great view and terrific food. We are truly truly dismayed to hear the restaurant is closing and that when it reopens the "concept" and dining experience will be different and NOT a fine dining experience. This is one of the only reasons we consider staying on the North Shore. There are no other options for fine dining and now there will be none. This will factor into our return to the North Shore for vacation.
Awesome experience again! Second time dining here and it was great. Service, ambiance, food and environment as an entirety excellent! I will continue to dine here and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you.
Excellent food, view and service. Expensive but expected in Hawaii.
My golfing buddy and I had an excellent meal ... we started with the seafood tower (yummy!), escargot (scrumptious!) ... he had the rack of lamb which he indicated was one of the best he's had; I had the bone-in filet (it was tasty and tender). We split an order of asparagus and a bottle of wine.
Our server Zara was personable and professional ... great service!
We liked our meal and was saddened to hear that the restaurant is closing to change its format. That's too bad, there are few fine dining venues anywhere close to Turtle Bay.
Great view of the sunset the food was fancy but not impressive for the price. The other restaurants on the resort are better and the one next door to this one has the same view of the sunset. I would recommend skipping this one.
Fabulous meal, amazing view/ambiance and amazing service by staff, while enjoying the North Shore! Had the fillet of beef and seared sea scallops, which were absolutely perfect. Enjoyed it so much we went there 2 nights in a row.
Great restaurant at Turtle Bay. Zara was an awesome server.
Nice place to watch sunset food excellent
Our orders were extremely slow out of kitchen (1hour). Food was good. Waiter was apologetic and had manager come to us and made a sizable adjustment to our check. Great gesture but the evening was ruined.
Everything was awesome! The food was spot on, highly recommend the whole fish. Julianna from Brazil was a fantastic server, place would not be the same without her there! We went both nights we were staying there mostly cause of her!
