Exceptional Dinner: We live nearly one hour from Washington House, but we endeavor to eat dinner there as often as possible. This past weekend we enjoyed one of the very best dinners ever there, which is saying a lot as they consistently serve high quality food. Every single course this weekend was incredible: the butternut squash soup with nifty pumpkin seed and sour cream or creme fraiche garnish; the pierogies; the hot pretzel with beer-cheese dip; and the vegetarian entree of stuffed acorn squash. As I am vegetarian, I must commend you for using a vegetable stock for your vegetarian soup. So many restaurants make an otherwise vegetarian soup but then use a chicken or beef stock which is super annoying for those of us who don't eat meat. Even though my husband is not vegetarian, he also ordered your vegetarian entree of the stuffed squash and he loved it as much as I did. Thank you for such an exceptional meal. Through the years, we can always count on you to serve high quality, innovative courses. We wish we lived far closer, but for now, we do not mind driving due to the thoughtful efforts you expend to feed people creative, delicious food. More

Farm-to-table | Sellersville, Bucks County

Maize is a New American BYOB located in Perkasie’s business district in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

We offer an 8 course tasting menu that changes daily based on what is seasonally available. Everything is made in-house from scratch, using the best local produce, Pennsylvania raised meats and wild fish and shellfish from the North Atlantic.

We welcome you to Maize with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn with extra virgin olive oil, fresh parsley and chives, salt and pepper. Shortly after you will receive our biscuits with local honey and butter. We will then move onto a tasting menu that comprises some of your favorites of the past decade, as well as some soon to be favorites. And as always, we will finish dinner with our warm chocolate chip cookies.

Bring a couple of your favorite bottles of wine, relax with your guest(s), and allow us to take care of you.

When thinking of food in the Philadelphia area, the first thing that probably comes to mind is the cheese steak. The City of Brotherly Love founded the cheese steak sandwich in the 1930s. Sellersville, just outside of Philly, is home to a few sub shops that boast dozens of different variations on this classic. Most local restaurants are pretty casual, so if a good old Philly cheesesteak is what you're in the mood for, you've come to the right place. There are several American restaurants serving up hamburgers, locally caught venison, marinated chicken, and much more. You'll also find a few local coffee shops that are open daily for a warm, homemade breakfast.
