Oysy Sushi is a sleek and elegant sushi bar where guests can create great memories with friends or a significant other. A trendy spot located on the south loop of Chicago, Oysy Sushi offers delicious cocktails and sushi. Our most popular roll is the Rainbow Dragon which has shrimp tempura and cucumber inside and topped with salmon, tuna, super white tuna, eel, ebi, spicy mayo as well as different tobiko. Summer is another amazing roll worth mentioning. Other dishes worth recommending are the deep fried rock shrimp in spicy golden sauce and the stir fried octopus in homemade hot sauce.
Izagaya in Japanese means traditional food in a relaxed atmosphere and Oysy Sushi is the ideal example of this concept. Offering dishes from the traditional to the exotic, Oysy Sushi provides lunch specials at reasonable prices. Portions are large enough to share so groups can sample many dishes. Online ordering makes it convenient to enjoy the tastes of Japan anywhere.

Lovely restaurant with many yummy sushi choices. We particularly enjoyed the turtle roll. Service was super friendly. Would definitely return!
Love this place! Eat here every time I am in Chicago!
Excellent sushi and sashimi and a good range of grilled items
Went to Oysy every day of our trip to Chicago. Never had Sushi that great. Great service and will be pack ASAP.
Our visit to Oysy was very good. We enjoyed the food. The service was excellent and fast-almost too fast. We arrived at 6:20pm and we left by 7:00pm. 40 minutes! Only negative is that I don’t think I’ve received my 100 Open Table points for this visit. It was still great though!
Our favorite place for sushi in Chicago.
Hat alles gepasst, leider etwas kühl das Restaurant.
Great service and Evan better sushi!
Ambiance, service and location was great. That said, there are other sushi venues nearby with higher quality food at or around the same value.
GREAT SUSHI! But do not order soup, appetizer and sushi all at once as it comes too quickly. It is not spaced out at all. We got our hot appetizer 3 minutes after our hot miso soup. Then the sushi came out shortly after. We felt rushed to each it all. Otherwise, GREAT SUSHI!
Overall, it was a great restaurant. Kid-friendly, great location. Our waitress just wasn't there 100% of the time that we needed her. Glad to have sushi in an area that has so many American and Italian restaurants!
Waitress made the mistake twice for the over charge.
Excellent all around
food was great - but service was lacking. Server forgot to place one order for my son, and he had to wait much longer than expected for a couple of rolls. Even after the long wait the staff didn't acknowledge the error and charged us full price for the rolls. Would have expected those to be comp'ed.
Dinner was fine. The restaurant isn’t fancy and the sushi was fine. Not incredibly memorable but I would consider going back for the lunch special.
The sushi is always excellent, the service was about average, the table by the window was perfect for watching people walk by and our one on one conversation.
Super bland. Great service but will not return.
Great location, the service was excellent, and the food was remarkable! I would go here again in a heartbeat, and have already recommended to friends! A+
Food was pretty good but Ambiance needs a lot of work. Decorations are poor. Seats very uncomfortable.
It was a birthday lunch for one of our office staff. The food was very slow to begin with and no one came to greet us till 10 minutes after we seated. Few items we ordered on the menu was out. Sushi was decent but nothing special. One of the chef at sushi bar was eating and that looked so not presentable. In the end they forgot the birthday desert. Not planning to go back again.
It’s ok for everyday casual quick meal. Definitely not for special occasion or foodies.
Best Sashimi I've had in sometime. Very fresh, nice presentation, great service.
After eating I felt incredibly rejuvinated and just generally very good about myself! The service was great and I had fun hanging out with my group there.
Quality of the food is very nice , they also have a lovely cold sake selection. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is very welcoming. They cater to my girlfriends gluten allergies and we could be more grateful. We will return.
We dined from out of town and really enjoyed our meal. They were very accommodating to our small children also.
Good food, service a 'little' slow. Creative dishes and decorative sushi (yes - good).
Everthing apart from the sushi from oyshy sushi was good. The rice under the sushi didnt have a sense of attachment to the piece of fish. The rice seemed overcooked for sushi and was not seasoned at all. I would not go back there.
The staff was friendly. The dining room was open and attractive. The food was fantastic in appearance and taste . Quick service.
Great food, ok service.
Love it! The NYC Roll and the Dynamite were fantastic.
Great food! The flaming shrimp and the cucumber margarita are a must.
We visited Oysy Sushi while in town for my brother-in-law's birthday over Labor Day and were very happy with the experience. We had reservations for 7:30 and were greeted and seated with no waiting. Our server arrived quickly and was attentive but not hovering throughout dinner. Although the server misunderstood my order and initially brought a sushi platter, she apologized and quickly replaced it with the sashimi platter.
The sushi and sashimi platters were large, with a nice mix of salmon, tuna, snapper, yellowtail, escolar, and octopus, as well as a fresh array of shredded carrots, radish, and beets. We also ordered the seaweed and cucumber salad, which was fresh and nicely seasoned, and was large enough to share among the four of us. Would definitely recommend Oysy for anyone looking for fresh sushi at a good price in a clean and friendly environment.
RAINBOW DRAGON ROLL IS NOT ONLY TASTY IT WAS A CULINARY ART PIECE !!!
Sushi is not recommeandable. Fish was not bad, but rice was too less cooked and had no taste of vinegar.
We went to oysy based on the reviews and pics we saw on yelp- food was decent, presentation was not up to par - the dragon rolls’ eyes were laying on the plate not on the dragon itself- this was part of the experience we came for with our little one- restaurant was extremely loud, we could not hear our server. Server never smiled and was direct and to the point. Overall did not enjoy our experience here.
This was my first time trying sushi and I liked the concept of their lunch special.
Food was fantastic. Amazing lunch special. Great for a day date!!!
This is not Japanese food, it's more like Japanese with Chinese fusion, sashimi was not fresh, n the sushi rice seems old, not fresh. My first n last time at this place.
4 people ate a good dinner for under $100. Too many noisy kids, but ir was 6 pm on a Sunday. Good Sake selection.
