pretty place. food is good, but crazy expensive for inexpensive-to-prepare food. The waiter was terrible.
Fabulous Experience ! wonderful Food and the service is always warm and friendly ! It is a MUST for us every time we are out in the area ! I highly recommend for Lunch or Dinner !
The Owner of the place is such a gentleman!
The food here is delicious but the service is so consistently terrible that you spend your whole meal talking about how bad it is. Come here when you have three hours to kill or are eating at off-peak hours. Also the valet couldn't find my car after dinner so that was the icing on the cake.
Always great at the osteria! Wonderful ambiance summer and winter, terrific authentic Italian food.
Very disappointed, especially with the prices commensurate with top restaurants in NYC and LA. The octopus was oily, and came out in less than 5 minutes after the order was placed - not a good sign. The pasta was clearly not homemade and no better than generic pasta from Whole Foods.
Terrible Service. It took over 1.5 hours for our food to come. The waiter said the kitchen was backed up. BUT, the same thing happened to us several weeks ago when we came here for dinner. It took nearly 2 hours to get our food. They kept apologizing and saying it was an unusual kitchen issue. We believed them enough to try again...but obviously the kitchen has serious issues. We will never come back.
Not very good in any category. Waiter while being attentive told us that requesting a pasta for a toddler was ok then at 5:30 but would not happen an hour later. Plain pasta with butter? Too much Hampton attitude for my taste.
It has a nice look, the food is quite good, but the acoustics are terrible! Good luck talking to your dinner party, or hearing the specials.
we came to celebrate our 34th wedding aniversary and though it was not as nice as our wedding night it was close my thanks
Same old tired story...pretty hostess who pretends to not understand English...arrived early and sent to the bar despite protesting that we want drinks at our table..."you will have drink at bar or stand here"...many tables open for immediate seating...their charming owner and his wife need to address this now...really annoying!!
This place is reliable and the owner is very nice.
Nice ambience, good food and gracious staff.
Everything was great
Awesome food - will come here any day of the week!!
Best Italian restaurant in the Hamptons
Excellent everything. Highly recommend this place
Decent but not great. VERY over priced for the quality of the cuisine.
The food was quite good, the service was very good. However, as we were sitting on the main floor level in the bar area it was quite frenetic with the hostess and owner constantly moving around to look over the rail and likely see the status of other tables but more significant, the noise level was beyond energetic it was simply far too loud and at a table for 2 we could barely hear each other. The addition of rather annoying rather than soothing music from the speakers added to the noise. The noise factor alone can spoil an otherwise good meal.
Not much on the menu. We all ate pasta.
Lovely setting overlooking pond. Noise level was a bit high. Waiter had a very heavy accent - difficult to understand. Appetizers were very small - so were the deserts. Our party of 4 had 2 veal chops, one tuna steak and one pasta dish. The entrees were a very good size, but no vegetables or potatoes were served with the entrees. We had 4 cocktails and a bottle of wine($45) . The bill without tip was almost $400. Pricey, but typical for Hamptons.
This restaurant needs explaining. The food is over the top. Advertised as food from the isle of salina it is unique. I have rarely encountered preparation like this even in the amalfi and southern Italy regions. The location is a busy beach area and the atmosphere is hectic. Service can be delayed but in my case I didn't care. We are on vacation when we are in the hamptons and the restaurant is an experience not a formal dining area. Have another glass of wine and get over it. Noise level is high because EVERYONE is having a good time. It is expensive but worth it.
Lovely restaurant but pasta dishes were not good at all. Fish is excellent. Nice environment!
Excellent regional cuisine but pricey for the size of the portions.
What a big disappointment. Starting with our 8:30 reservation had us waiting till later than 9:15 and we were on the verge of walking away.
The food — nothing special no matter how much of a build up they provided.
If this is Italian at it's finest — the first rule is not to overcook the pasta.
Nothing but a pasty mess….
The crowd was rude and the volume level was so loud that conversation was not even a possibility.
It will be hard to convince us to give it another shot...
Unless you are pals with the old dude in the coral colored shorts, you will wait WELL past your reservation time to be seated, without any apology. I have been there twice recently and he appears to relish treating his friends well and his other paying guests not so well. The guy behind the computer eventually offered us free drinks, after we shelled out plenty for a round while were huddled with a lot of others waiting for their table to materialize. He must have forgotten to tell his servers, so no free drinks after all. That's ok; I prefer to know where we stand, as there are plenty of other average restaurants in the Hamptons to choose from--this place is only ok, except that is larger and ALWAYS has every time slot available for a reservation, even if it means that they end up completely overbooked. It is probably a better experience mid-week or off season. The food is fine--fair, but not exceptional--microwave fast meatball appetizer for one thing. If you are willing to wait around as we did here, a better bet is Fresno, since you may wait but it will be worth it. Better yet, try Race Lane for a good meal without the hassle or book early and get an exceptional experience at EH Grill.
Had to wait for table for 40 minutes. Had to wait for food for 90 minutes. Service was extremely poor. Drink went to a different table. Dishes and utensils arrived at different times. Food like lobster and veal chop was served cold!! Horrible experience.
The outside area is charming while the inside was a little grandma-ish. Food was below average and the service was awful. Mussels were actually gross. Our waiter was very nice, but food took way to long to come out. Expensive which I don't mind paying, but not for that poor quality. I suspect that this restaurant won't be here next year. Mark my words!
A really pleasant experience. The food was delicious, although I didn't love the burratta with orange sauce; a savory accompaniment would have been better. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints on the food. The service was prompt and attentive. The surroundings are very pleasant, although it does get a bit loud when full.
Great location, views, atmosphere, service, but expensive for what one gets. The food was solid, but $50 for a veal chop and $28 for pasta with oil oil, garlic and cherry tomatoes is above even the rarefied air of other East Hampton fine dining establishments.
overall solid. we sat outdoors which was quite pleasant though partial view of parking lot...food was very good, waiter was great although be prepared to wait a long while for kitchen which is likely overburdened on weekend nights. Pricey as is the norm in Hamptons...
Ambiance was perfect and the service was wonderful. We felt right at home.
We have always loved Osteria Salina, but we took friends on this night, & they so loved it.
My fourth trip there this year, a special treat and owner treats us well and friendly.
He knows Italy very well.
Appetizers , pasta and other dishes come out warm not cold .
Wine menu affordable .
Will go again and again.
Service and food were exceptional. The manager took care of us as we were celebrating a birthday. Only negative is they didn't have certain items on the menu.
Great vibe. Very cool spot. People were super nice. Menu is limited and food is good, certainly not great.
We enjoyed our food quite a bit, but the restaurant is incredibly overpriced. Service was also a bit chaotic. The waiters seemed totally overwhelmed, the bar couldn't accommodate a request for a Dark & Stormy and could only offer a rum and Coke, and the noise level was notably loud (although we did hear the table next to us complain several times to their waiter and then the manager that their wait for food was too long). Wouldn't return.
As soon as you pull up outside Osteria Salina you feel like you just beamed yourself over to Italy. Every little detail from the Vespa on the beautiful patio, to the uniforms of the waitstaff adds to the overall warm, welcoming and classy European vibe. Osteria Salina is a 10/10 on all levels - food, ambiance, service but the most amazing achievement is its consistency. No matter how busy or how far into the season, it hits the 10/10 mark each time and that's incredibly rare (especially in the Hamptons). Bravissimi!
Great re do of what used to be Georgica. Great service- supper kid friendly with my two little ones in tow. Good scenery - good food-- highly recommend
Will definitely return!
