We’ve celebrated my husband’s birthday in Osso and are very happy with our choice! This place is awesome! Their stakes are a bit pricey but are worth every cent! The serving was quite big: neither of us managed to finish one so we had stakes for lunch next day too :) The staff was extremely attentive and friendly! We’ll definitely come again! Highly recommend!
Excellent 40 ounce rib eye and filet!
It was fabulous. The food was just ok this time! But I love Osso
This was the first time my close friends (since high school) and I attempted to brave indoor dining during the age of Covid. So naturally, I knew finding a nice restaurant to have our gentleman’s steak dinner that followed social distancing protocols and able to host a party of 8 was going to be a challenge.
Since I’ve been a loyal patron of Osso for over 10 years and when news of SF restaurants allowing for indoor dining, I jumped at the opportunity to have a nice meal with my closest buddies and was able to secure a reservation to my surprise.
My buddies arrived early and was already seated. We were the only large party for the night so Osso was kind enough to seat us in the “Lounge” which was a semi private room capable of seating a max of 8 safely. Our waiter/bar tender was extreme attentive, made sure we were well taken care of the entire evening. Menu seemed limited (the sizzling combo seafood appetizer platter wasn’t available to my disappointment) but had the usual hits and of course its famous bone in filet which never disappoints. I was glad to finally able to enjoy a nice meal with my buddies and have some good laughs.
Glad to see Osso is surviving this pandemic and hope they don’t go anywhere! I will be back as often as I can...
Great family or large group dining experience!
Excellent food five star treatment. Temporary menu for now. So not currently available the filet mignon cheesesteak sandwich possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life.
The food was great and the service was welcoming and attentive. Great place to eat!!
Excellent dinner! Dimitri our server was great. As we had experienced in the past the food was excellent. No complaints, Osso had just reopened after being closed due the pandemic and we were happy to be able to enjoy them again.
We celebrated my son's birthday here and couldn't have been happier with our experience!
Always engaging, friendly staff and delicious food. A date night go-to that never disappoints.
Osso is a classic and we've been following the website , waiting for them to re-open. We came all the way down from Windsor and just had a great meal.
Decent steak and good service, ambience is really nice
Osso is a fantastic restaurant and we make sure to go there any time we have a special celebration. This one was for the graduation of my son from Berkeley, and it could not have been better! The service, atmosphere, staff and food was awesome. Highly recommend it!
Great Restaurant and Always Consistent. Roberto is a great server.
This is a step back in time into old school elegance and service. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and more than happy to accommodate you. It seems the staff has been there forever and are happy in their environment. That truly says a lot about business. Although it’s quite elegant, it is in no way stuffy or pretentious. You can wear whatever you want from very dressy to casual t-shirt and jeans. They will make you feel welcome and treat you just the same.
This isn’t my first nor my last visit. I look forward to visiting again to sample more items on their menu. The cheese skillet starter is a must. The second course Caesar salad is probably the best we’ve ever had with just the right amount of dressing and the pesto base which is really a nice addition. Their toy box tomatoes and beet salads were also quite nice and really the perfect size. Everything from the porterhouse to the petite filet mignon to the salmon to the filet mignon cheesesteak to the 4 square Kobe cheeseburgers are cooked to perfection with just the right seasoning. As far as sides go, all were quite good, but the creamed corn, brussel sprout chips and crispy roasted potatoes were everyone’s favorites. None of us have ever had creamed corn like that... it’s quite addicting. The icing on the cake was dessert, so make sure you save room for that. They’re happy to pack up whatever you don’t want to eat, so you have room for dessert and lunch the next day. We shared the creme brûlée cheesecake and vanilla panna cotta which were sinfully devine.
Oh and I can’t forget to mention the free valet parking with a smile, which is absolutely amazing in the city!
Overall everything was perfect and never rushed.... the food, ambiance, service, noise level and free valet parking. If I had to find something to complain about, I’d say it was a little disappointing that the chef wouldn’t chop the wedge salad, but I can live with that since the other salads were quite delicious.
We were greeted very nicely when we showed up early for our reservation and were sat down immediately. Our waiter was prompt in getting our order and food brought out quickly. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Food was 5 star terrific, and portion size was spot on. Will be back in the near future Osso's is Ohhhh so good👌🏾
The food was fabulous and the decor was pleasant on the eyes. I enjoyed the cheese bread, crab cakes and the steak was big, juicy and tender. The only pause was the service which was spotty for a high end restaurant. I would however go back again.
It was my birthday, went with a couple friends and the server was outstanding! Dinner was delicious!
Our experience at Osso had always been excellent!
The steak was cooked to perfection. Everything was delicious. Our server was incredible. He was very attentive. Our glasses were never empty. Great personality.
Excellent service. Amazing food. This is our fourth time here. They never disappoint us. We’ll keep coming back again and again
Food was delicious...don’t go on a Friday night if you want good service! The service was unpredictable, waiter was unprofessional. I guess they were short staffed that night. I have been a few times and the service was much better. Our out of town guest stated our waiter was rude and condescending. They had the misfortune of having a wedge salad dropped on their backs. The salad mess was poorly cleaned and they went home wear salad dressing. If you must have Ossos...order take out.
We were seated in a quiet cabana, which was a huge plus given that there were 3 octogenarians in our group. That was very thoughtful of them. We all raved about the exquisite flavors of each entree - seabass, scallops and a salad. I'm a vegetarian and enjoyed all the side options. There was at least one vegetarian entree besides salads that I did not order. All entrees come a la carte, so we also shared 2 side dishes between 4 diners. They charge $1 for bread, which was odd for such a classy place. The staff were extremely attentive - till the end when we needed our check to get to a concert at Grace Cathedral. The valet allowed us to leave our car parked with them - gratis! Just be sure to get your ticket validated and retrieve your car by 10pm.
One of the best experiences. From the food to the service everything was perfect. Will definitely return.
Great steaks and great service. Always a nice spot for a special night out.
The location and ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful. The staff were pleasant and courteous. The cheese bread was delicious. I ordered a rib eye and I was extremely disappointed. I asked for well done and it had to be taken back. It was still not well done but I didn't complain. The steak had so much fat on it that I couldn't even enjoy my steak. I took it home but ultimately threw it away, it was way too much fat on it. A total waste of $65.Also it was our Anniversary which I put on the reservation. There was no acknowledgment or desert or anything.
Ordered the bone in Ribeye medium well and was burnt on the outside and very pink on the inside! The worse part was that the steak was so tough that I couldn't cut it with the steak knife! Had to send it back and ordered the bone in filet mignon. This steak was cooked perfect and taste delicious but had to wait another 40 minutes to get it! By the time I got it my date's steak was very cold.
Th to the bar for a drink to wait for our table. Table was ready about an hour later, hostess called us on mobile phone despite standing less than six feet away. They would not let us roll bar bill over to the table, and as we were paying the hostess walked the six feet to the bar to tell us in person she could not hold the table and most of our table should go sit while one remained to pay the bill that could not be paid at the table.
The table they could not “hold” turned out to be about six feet in the other direction because we were sat in the bar, rather than dining room or lounge. Waiter seemed friendly and competent but food didn’t arrive for another hour (two hours after reservation time), at which point we got our steaks and sides cold, and our appetizers had never been served at all.
So we left. The manager apologized and didn’t try to charge us; I guess that’s something.
We've been to Osso several times in the past, and all were great occasions. We came back and expected something similar, but they were clearly off this night. The hostess seems unable to adapt and is clearly not a people person, despite this being her job. She seemed clueless when I asked her whether my table was ready. We had to wait longer than expected despite being there a half-hour early for our reservation. Once seated, it was clear that the night was going to be long. All of the tables around us seemed frustrated and were not getting their drinks or food on time. Our server took longer than normal to get to our table, and sure enough, our food took a long time. Once we got it, my lamb chaps and my wife's filet mignon was good, but my Mom's and her partner's Bone-in NY steak were tough, not tender and clearly a lower quality steak than what was being sold. We are sad because we love this steak house and we hope they will perform better in the future. Everyone has a bad night some times.
We ordered an Old Fashioned and it just tasted like liquor with an orange peel in it, no bitters or sugar. The quality of the ribeye is not good - tasted like it has been marinated with baking soda to make it more tender. Crab was tasty. The service was okay. The server checked in with us a couple times. The table was small so we had to request for the entrees to come out one at a time. Not much space between tables so servers bumped into the back of my chair a few times and I felt like I was eating in a very cramped space.
Osso was awesome I had planned everything on the menu everything came out great the Calamari Friti is way more than peoples calamari the steaks were amazing the crab in that sauce were awesome the cheesy bread was great that beat salad with the hearts of palm very nice and the crème brûlée cheesecake oh my God
You gotta order the mussels as an appetizer! So good!
Dip the bread in the garlic butter sauce... amazing!
The steaks are truly outstanding!! Our waiter, Tom, took incredible care of us. Looking forward to returning.
I have to say I was a little leery about going to Osso because of the reviews that I read and 3.5 stars on Yelp but I'm so glad I went to food was awesome service was amazing drinks were delicious I couldn't have asked for a better experience! thank you so much!
I wish the parking lot said it was for the restaurant customers. I parked in nearby parking lot for $40
It was our valentines dinner i’d like to start with. I am a Carnivore, I eat a Ribeye EVERYDAY literally for the last 1.5 years. This was a large 30 oz ribeye split between me and my partner. The LEANEST driest ribeye that I’ve ever had. It came out completely raw at first, we had to send it back, the second time it came out it was medium rare even though we ordered it medium. But thank god it was medium rare because it was so tough and dry. Service was sub par for a fine dining restaurant. All together it was a rough experience definitely will not be going back or recommending.
Delicious food and drinks, romantic setting, not too loud. Downside is the bathrooms --you have to take an elevator and they're kind of isolated from the restaurant. FREE valet tho, perfect for the area becuase you will not find parking anywhere.
Not bad but definitely not worth the money at this place for this kind of money you can enjoy true fine dining elsewhere however food was decent but nothing to remember and we waited about 15-20 minutes for our table even with having a reservation.last but not least I was most definitely not impressed with the service of our waiter he only came to check on us 1 time and brought us cold food and didn’t have the most pleasant attitude about waiting our table of 2. I would not recommend
Great food and service. But they put us at a horrible table in the corner with a draft
Great steaks! Great for date night! Cool old school vibe with a modern twist.
