My husband and I came for our anniversary date. It was a nice atmosphere, we felt like we were more than welcome to sit and enjoy conversation. The food was delicious.
Our second visit, and it was even better than the first. Four of us shared eight different plates, and each one was delicious. We would happily have the exact same dinner next time (and there WILL be a next time), but there were lots of other plates to try, and that's the direction we'll take.
Service was excellent, and the servers all seemed to be very glad we were there. Can hardly wait for our next visit.
Hunter was our server and made my wife's Birthday an enjoyable experience .
Love the scallops. Get those often. Everything is great. Key lime dessert is awesome.
Have been here only twice on my only two visits to Raleigh. Delicious menu, perfect amount of choice, all good! Great wine and cocktail menu also! Great service! Definitely returning when I am back in Raleigh!!
This is a beautiful restaurant and I was surprised to see so few people at it on a Wednesday night. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered a bottle of The Convert and it was very good. The kitchen is very quick with their turnaround time. Both the brussels and cauliflower were tasty accompanied by a delicious sauce. The octopus was also good but the filet was just okay. We finished the evening with creme brulee' and it was very good. I hope that more people learn about this place so that it's able to survive in a competitive business.
Daughter’s Birthday with friends
Everything was impeccably cooked and full of flavor. You won't find a salt and pepper on the table nor do you need any.
Absolutely amazing! Delicious! I will definitely be back. I never had escargot and was hesitant but tried it and it was seasoned beautifully.
Thank you so much for the dining experience as I celebrated my birthday. It was perfect.
Very good food. Can’t wait to go back.
My 13 year old Daughter wanted Oro for her birthday and they made it a great one. This restaurant has really tasty food. Everything is plated so beautifully. Even the cocktails are fun! the menu changes so there is always something different to try. The service is always great thanks to Corey, and the food comes out fast! This is one of my favorite spots in Raleigh!
Had a great time! Service was excellent
We went to ORO in October and had a wonderful experience.
This time (February) we went for another birthday celebration, and sadly didn't have the same experience. The waiter/waitress makes all the difference. We were seated upstairs this time, it was extremely warm, and didn't have Corey as our server. Sad to say we probably won't be back.
We enjoyed the contemporary setting and the noise level was quite bearable.
The four of us shared six different menu items ( two shrimp dishes, octopus, cauliflower, scallops and desert). . Each was out standing in terms of flavor and presentation.
Our server was both pleasant and helpful.
I ate here once before for lunch and equally enjoyed that experience.
It was amazing. A great ambience, amazing menu. Gluten free options. I loved it!!! Looking forward fir my next dining experience at Oro.
Beautiful restaurant and great food and service. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the recommendations of the server.
If you are hungry DON’T come here unless you are willing to spend $50 or more for 1 person. The restaurant it’s is nice inside. The waiter was great. The Mac and cheese truffle was HORRIBLE.
We hadn’t been to Oro in a couple of years and we wanted to give it another try. This will be our last. The service was only passable. Our main complaint was with how quickly the food was served (NOT with their concept of small plates being served as ready). We had barely started our drinks when the food started coming. I am pretty sure they didn’t mean to rush us, but we felt rushed. Not a great dining experience. It’s a shame, because the food was pretty good.
ORO’s Bento is the best lunch value in Raleigh, hands down: a small salad, fingerling potatoes, your choice of protein and a piece of cheesecake for $10!! The food at ORO is consistently great, and the service wonderful. A+++++
Service and food was excellent. Loved the menu explanations and recommendations. Cute cocktails too!
Everything was great! Definitely will come back in the near future
Every single dish was amazing.
Great food, portions larger than expected for tasters menu. Service friendly and helpful. Only downside was how loud restaurant gets even when not full due to high ceilings and all the hard surfaces - lots of echo.
Cheapest and great lunch choice in downtown Raleigh. $10 bento deal. Just skip the alcohol they r pricey. Corey the waiter is awesome. Outgoing fun people person. Never a bad meal and amazing service. What more could u ask for.
Brilliant dishes. Best dinner I've had in Raleigh thus far. We enjoyed the califlower, brussels sprouts, sea bass, scallops, and filet. We needed with the banana bread pudding. All were perfect in their own way. We will be back!
I actually loved the design an upbeat feeling of ORO. The only reason why I am giving a 3 instead of a 4 is because of where we were sat. We were on the upper level and our table had a constant vibration which we found out was because the HVAC system was running right underneath us. It was annoying while trying to eat a nice dinner. Our staff was wonderful but it took a lot of time to even get acknowledged once we were sat. The food and portion size was fantastic, we especially like the sharing portions. The Brussel Sprouts and Chicken Potstickers are a must as well as the BBQ tacos. Overall we would go back and we had a fun night out!
We tried this place for Restaurant Week because we had never been before.
Enjoyed ourselves. Thought the portions were a little on the small side for entree's.
They tout themselves as a tapas restaurant but don't know how that will work with portions for entree's being so small as a comparison.
What was intriguing is a chef's choice tapas event for groups. $45/person might be fun - unless everyone leaves hungry.
Delicious food, perfect portion sizes. Will definitely visit again. Recommend going during Restaurant Week, great deal. Very friendly service.
food was great. service was also great. we will be back.
The ambience is now. However is the food was not good. The mahi mahi that my friend & I were given was dry & overcooked. My shrimp appetizer was bland. My friend’s cookies were dry & the manager agreed so he gave her a new dessert. The server said that he would make it right since we were given bad food but the manager said he could not do anything about it.
Restaurant week lunch special at Oro in downtown Raleigh. $10 buys you salad, salmon, fingerling potatoes and a small dessert. Very high value per dollar. Top-notch service and food quality. A shame that finding parking in downtown Raleigh is a nightmare, else I expect I'd frequent this establishment for lunch. I expect I'll return in the future nonetheless.
Is there a 6th star? I'm not going to embarrass myself by saying I licked my plate but when our fantastic server came to take plates away I did tell him, "I'm not done!" in a "I will cut you!" kind of way. Although there was nary a crumb left, I was still using the side of my fork to ssscccrraapppeeee the luscious lemon coulis off the plate as the only remaining memory of the creme brulee cheesecake. If I could have married it, I would have. Oh yes, the light vinaigrette dressing on the salad, the cooked-to-perfection salmon in the AMAZING dill sauce and the roasted fingerling potatoes deserve a round of applause too, how could I post a review without mentioning them but dear God the cheesecake.... When a server risks his life to clear a plate you know you are in the right place. There were other people with me at lunch and they loved their meals as well but I forgot they were there and stopped talking for a time ... that cheesecake. Gotta go back soon.
Oro is one of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh. Everything from the atmosphere, presentation, taste, and service is impeccable!
The service and food were spot on. The Bento Box at lunch was a great value.
It was a perfect setting for our staff lunch. The food was delicious and the cost reasonable. The ambiance was excellent, as well. Thank you.
Perfect service at the bar with Hunter. Fantastic mixologist. I highly recommend the smoked Old Fashioned.
Wonderful food. No complaints. Just a fabulous evening.
Although we loved the food and server was outstanding, one of my guest planning to order an Irish Coffee with Jameson and Bailys until she realized the price tag. $32.00!
Staff was not friendly. Avoid the second floor seating, the tables against the railing vibrate due to the air conditioning unit directly below. Food was good, but not worth the price. I wouldn’t go back.
As always an awesome experience. Best with a small group so you have more plates to share.
