We each look forward to welcoming you to Oriole.
What Insiders Are Saying
Oriole is a fancy and expensive tasting menu restaurant that’s great for a special occasion.
Wonderful! So much attention to detail - very thought out tasting menu. We celebrated our anniversary and the restaurant made us feel so welcomed. Will plan to go back with more company!
Most of the food was great; however, there were several missteps, which is not acceptable for a place of this high esteem. There was only 1 ingredient that we had requested (in advance) not to have due to a strong aversion. Before the meal began, the waitress re-stated that they knew about that ingredient and it would be avoided. Then, much to my chagrin, one of the main dishes, which I was very excited for, was ruined by the presence of this ingredient. When I alerted the waiter to this, he did not apologize, but instead, told me he would alert the kitchen. After this, we never heard from the waiter/waitress/chef, or anyone else about this misstep. This was extremely disappointing given what the service expectations are for a restaurant like this. More importantly, that dish was inedible and the remainder of the meal was tainted by this mid-meal misstep.
Nice and unique experience. The service exceeds expectation. Some details such as the waiter/waitress fluffed the pillow when a guest left the seat are really impressive. As for the food, it is innovative, looks pretty and the taste is multi-layer/multi-dimension (comment from my "foodie" friend).
My girlfriend and I have had the pleasure of dining at Oriole for two special occasions now, and both times we've been absolutely blown away. Oriole is simply superlative in every aspect. Each course we were served would be a standout for a restaurant that specialized in that particular dish (sushi fit for the city's best sushi restaurant, pasta fit for the city's best pasta restaurant, etc.). Noah Sandoval has created something really special with Oriole - flavors that you thought you knew are inexplicably just tastier here.
Service is also unmatched - all of the little details that many restaurants of a similar caliber overlook don't go unnoticed here. Restaurants this accomplished are often accompanied by a snooty and arrogant attitude, and maybe the best part about Oriole is that this is in no way the case here. The staff is tremendously warm and friendly - these are people who are just excited to show you what a 5 star dining experience really looks like.
In a city with a surplus of fantastic dining options, Oriole is unquestionably at the top of our list for any special occasion. Our only gripe is that people seem to be catching on, and it's getting harder to book a reservation!
Oriole is a top three restaurant for me, in the world. This place had amazing service, great ambiance, and the food was perfect.
Best dinner I've ever had. Definitely worth every dollar.
Continues to be the best restaurant anywhere!!!
Excellent food, amazing wine and overall great dining experience!
This was truly the best meal my husband and I have ever eaten. The service was amazing, the food was amazing and the ambiance was awesome. It is so neat to see right into the kitchen no matter where you sit. They truly make you feel special and take incredible care of your requests. My husband even wanted a basic after dinner drink at the end and they made it with a fun twist to make it even more incredible. It truly was a wonderful night and we will definitely be back again!
Superb and inventive. Excellent pairings. Great service. And no long waits between courses. Currently Chicago’s best restaurant.
Absolutely loved it!! Would recommend to anyone!!! The attention to detail on every level was oustanding
Perfect restaurant for that special occasion. Wonderful food and service. Price maybe a bit on the high side but you definitely get what you paid for. Especially liked being greeted and given a welcoming drink in the outer lobby.
The service at Oriole is unparalleled, you are taken care of from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. The food was fabulous and very creative. A wonderful luxury dining experience.
The best dining experience my husband and I have had. Incredible food and stellar, thoughtful service.
I can rate our meal at Oriole as one of the best tasting menu experiences I've had. Other tasting menus have a few hits that are excellent, the remainder showing excellent technique and effort but may be lacking in flavor. At Oriole, every course was on point and delicious, making me want more. I still left satisfied but not overly stuffed. I would definitely come again.
They chose truly innovative ways to prepare the various dishes.
Excelente selección de ingredientes y manipulación de los mismos, una felicitación al chef por la perfección, los detalles sin duda los distingue, una experiencia única desde la recepción, gracias!
The tasting menu is good but didn’t feel to us amazing. With my first dish felt a bit of chlorine maybe from dishwasher.. that was unexpected for this level. Otherwise the menu is creative and diverse. Steak dish was too fat... it always is . Desert menu was ok, many options but unconsistent and without a clear message -pastry felt flat.
This Michelin restaurant definitely deserves its two stars. Food is unbelievably tasty, innovative, and with a lot of variety. It's a fabulous combination of steak, seafood, Asian, etc. Service is excellent too. Really don't need to say much - go experience yourself! The only thing is the location is a little hard to find on a quiet street without signs or banners. But once you enter the door it's a whole new world to explore.
Perfect place for adults who appreciate fine dining. Amusing entrance, small, very quiet room, well-spaced tables. Attentive, friendly, but not overbearing service. Every course was excellent and exceeded the prior one. Two minor tweaks: The paired wines could use a little tweaking for the first four or so offerings; those didn't knock my socks off as the food did. One of my dining partners though the dill overwhelmed the caviar. I didn't have that response. He either had a differently prepared piece, or more likely, his palate is more refined than mine. Oriole met or exceeded our prior fabulous experiences at Grace. We will return.
Really amazing experience. Phenomenal food and service. Every bite was savored, and the attention to details in service made me feel like royalty! Would absolutely have come here for the food alone, but the service makes the experience unforgettable. Two Michelin stars well deserved ... how does this place not have 3 !?
Oriole was a amazing experience. From the clean, simple and comforting decor to the amazing food to the competent, attentive and helpful staff. Definitely worth the trip!
This was our first time at Oriole and it was outstanding. It rivals the now closed Grace and we will certainly be returning. Having been to many Michelin rated restaurants, I can confidently say this is one of the best meals we've had!
Consistently one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Every time.
Our 2nd time back....
Loved everything about this experience.
Food, ambiance, service, everything was exceptional.
Special and wonderful on every level!
We eat at a lot of Michelin starred restaurants and we have eaten at all of the three and two Michelin starred restaurants in Chicago. I think that Oriole is the finest restaurant in Chicago. The food put out by Noah and his team is world class. It’s a luxurious experience with A5 Miyazaki beef, white truffle pasta, foie gras, oysters, etc. Some restaurants are intellectual experiences but I want food that’s delicious first and then beautiful second. Oriole plates beautifully but the deliciousness factor is incredibly high. The only negative is that the space isn’t beautiful. You enter through an alley and freight elevator which is unique but not a good match for the heavenly food. This place deserves its accolades and won’t disappoint you.
Best meal of my life. Everything was thought through.
It was one of the best meals of my life! (and I don't say that lightly... I'm 47, and have eaten at some of the best restaurants in NYC & Chicago.) It's a 13 course tasting menu, and the food is "a surprise". Every morsel was not just delicious, but beautiful. My husband had the drink pairing, which wasn't just wine, but also included cocktails and cider. The service was exceptional. Their Michelin stars are well deserved!
This was our second time, it is always amazing! The food and service is phenomenal!
This restaurant is a godsend, n I'm not even religious. But I believe in what this outstanding chef n staff are doing. I personally think it's the best restaurant in the city...possibly the world. It's definitely choreographed like a dramatic play, each course very deliberately leading n building to the next. Sometimes your submerged in a bath of aromas n flavors n inundated, n then brought up in the next one out of the sea to breathe in the welcome air. Well, I can't come up with good enough analogies to give this experience justice. All I can say..is GO..TRY IT..N PREPARE FOR THE CULINARY EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME.
Every course is delicious. Loved everything about my visit.
It was great as always. The best anywhere.
The food, service, and experience was wonderful.
This was one of the finest dining experiences of my life. An amazing experience.
Simply superb food, service, presentation, and ambiance.
Owner and Executive Chef Noah Sandoval is both a genius when it comes to creating artistic gastronomical delights and a most pleasant individual. My husband and I enjoy fine dining in Chicago every December to celebrate our anniversary so we are no stranger to the fine dining scene. Our experience at Oriole was so pleasurable, flavorful, and delightful that it is our new favorite. The food Noah prepared that evening was a feast to behold yet had to be savored with closed eyes and delighted sighs. From the interesting entry experience to the conclusion of the evening with a pleasant chat with Noah in the kitchen Oriole exceeded every expectation. The wait staff and restaurant ambiance were also noteworthy. We can hardly wait for next December.
Had a great second time here for my wife’s birthday ! Will certainly return.
