Oriole Ratings and Reviews
A wonderful 14 course tasting menu with perfectly paired wines and cocktails.
The ambience was ideal for the experience - quiet, warm and inviting.
The service was exceptional and kind.
Each course was unique with flavor and texture that made you savor each bite.
The wines and cocktails accentuated the taste of each course in a way that seemed amazing.
Very unique presentations for each course added to the visual appeal.
Highly recommended, but be prepared for the cost - $$$$
We will very much look forward to dining here again.
An amazing experience. Outstanding service. Was not sure what to expect but I truly enjoyed my dinner at Oriole. Food was great. I'm not a fan of two hour dinners but Oriole pulled it off. It was slightly difficult to find but parking was easy. I would definitely come back.
Get ready for your mind to be blown. This place is amazing. Though a pricey tasting menu with wine pairing option, it is worth the experience. We tried to compare this to when we dined at Alinea, but you can't - they offer two unique experiences and both have terrific food. I went to Oriole while pregnant and the substitutions they made for me were outstanding. I opted for the 'zero-proof' beverage pairing and it was a great call. How they made teas taste so good is beyond me. The best part of the meal was probably the dessert courses. Genie is the bomb. Hope you enjoy it as much as my husband and I did!
Enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner at this classy, casual restaurant. They adjusted the tasting menu to avoid foie gras, which neither of us enjoy and all the courses served were excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. One of the best restaurants we've visited among many in Chicago.
Amazing. - can't say enough positive things. There are many fine dining restaurants in Chicago, but this ranks up there as one of the best.
The food got better and better with each course. Service was excellent. It was professional, but also personable.
There was a cool vibe in the restaurant. It lacked the pretentiousness of all of the other restaurants of this caliber, which is a major bonus in my book.
Oriole just keeps getting better. It may be the best restaurant in the US now- definitely 3 star Michelin- if you aren't put off by the speakeasy entrance in an alley. Loved the foie gras, all the seafood bites, the pasta, and the wagyu. The wine pairing seems to have good quality for the price, or you can just get a few glasses.
Exquisite food, presentation, and service. There is no menu but the meal is served as a series of beautifully presented plates, all thoughtfully prepared and just the right amounts. (The restaurant contacts you beforehand to inquire about dietary restrictions.) The service is friendly, professional and welcoming. The dining room is intimate, warm and just the right amount of formality without too much. It was a pleasure to speak with Chef Noah at our table. I love this hidden gem for special occasions.
This is a fantastic and special experience. food and presentaton - fabulous; staff - superb, informative and friendly/approachable; owners young and very attentive and visit each table. Small (24 seating/tables at a time ). Expensive but well worth a splurge. Best restaurant of any 2 or 3 star Michelin spots. Each course (15 course no menu or choice) a work or art and palate pleaser. Been there twice and hope to go every year at least. Ask for Alexander and Aaron (the wine one)
We went to Oriole for my wife's birthday. It was the best meal I've had in Chicago in five years, and this includes meals at TRU, Alinea, Next, Spiaggia, MK, etc. This was a truly remarkable meal. Also, we had someone at the table with a dietary restriction that they gracefully accommodated in a world where many chefs will not accommodate menu modifications on chef's menus. The warm welcome cocktail on a chilly Chicago night was a treat and a great way to begin the experience. The price, though expensive, was a great value - I've paid $500 a person for dinners that were not nearly of this quality. Presentation and service was nonpareil, including inventive platings and a very nice dessert presentation; nothing felt overdone or staged. I would highly recommend Oriole to others. Worth every minute and penny.
I have been trying to get a reservation here for so long and I’m so glad we finally got one. The food is decadent. There are a few courses and it’s tough to pick my favorite dish (it’s like choosing your favorite child). I loved all of them. The top two, if I had to choose, was the foie grass and the mackerel. However, the wagyu beef and the lamb were also fabulous. We left full but not too much, so we got to appreciate the wonderful desserts too. The staff were so awesome too, so helpful and gracious. I hope we can have the chance to go back soon Very highly recommend Oriole!
Most memorable dinner my wife and I have enjoyed in a few years (Alinea, Grace, Smyth, etc). Oriole separated themselves from other standout restaurants by the investment in small details to create a warm, intimate environment. Elevated cuisine with flawless execution has become the standard for fine dining in Chicago, and yet Oriole found a way to stand above the rest (for us).
I loved the new caviar course. my favorite was the Hudson Valley Foie Gras. Beautifully plated with wonderfull balance. Everything was delicious and the service was both efficient and friendly. The non alcoholic pairing was fabulous and well worth it. Kudos for taking the time to pair with such amazing flavors. Wine pairing was nice. Lovely overall. And on a side note I do so much appreciate quality soap In The ladies room. Just an added bonus.
