                                                                            Have visited Oahu many times and Roy's Original Hawaii Kai is our favourite restaurant! The food and service are outstanding and we have never been disappointed with a meal there. The ambiance is lovely, where you can see the sun going down on the ocean and especially enjoy seeing the open kitchen on the upper level! The lower level is just as enjoyable if you can't reserve a spot upstairs!

                                                                            For decades, I have chosen to go to Roy's for special occasions, and on this occasion we were celebrating my friend's 90th birthday. Although she was happy with her short rib dish, I found both the misoyaki butterfish and scallops to be surprisingly lukewarm and sent both back. The second time around, both were delicious as usual but the temperature was still unusually lukewarm--very different from my previous experience with those dishes. Hopefully, this was just an anomaly!
