Opus 9 Steakhouse
Originally we were seated in a room that had a temperature that was overly cool so our waiter found us a table in another room , which we appreciated.
And when I accidently dropped an Egg Benedict on the floor while trying to put it on my plate, I picked it up by hand, put it on the tablecloth and told someone on the staff. Sorry for the mess!
Waiter was attentive and very pleasant.
I always enjoy OPUS 9!
Can't say enough good stuff about this restaurant. It is now a must stop whenever we're in Williamsburg. I had Filet with Lobster Tail and both were perfect. My wife had the Filet Oscar which was amazing. Service is excellent, cocktails expensive but really good. This is a good example of you get what you pay for- expensive but totally worth it. can't wait to get back!
Everything was excellent. Best steakhouse experience We have ever had anywhere.
Service and food were top notch. I would easily go back here again. Steak was cooked to perfection, sides were tasty ( cream spinach) and side serving were large. Only downsides were the kids whose parents didn’t know any better than to bring their noisy kids
We always go to Opus 9 whenever we are in Williamsburg. Never disappointed with the excellent wait staff, service, food and wine. We made a reservation and were seated by the beautiful fireplace. The portions are perfect! Loved the bread basket and creamy butter at the beginning of the meal. Can't wait to go back next time!
Long weekend in the Burg. Good dinner at Opus 9 Saturday night. Kept it simple - ordered steak and a baked potato and the service and food were great (although my steak was a bit undercooked). We were also there on Wednesday night - was not thrilled. I’ve been ordering the fried oysters for years - they were buried in fried leeks. I’m focused on the oysters. My wife ordered a steak that wasn’t cooked and had to be sent back. Did not expect a rare steak - she had ordered one prepared medium. By the time her meal came out I was already finished. My meal was uninspiring - I ordered the seafood trio - shrimp were bland, scallops were large and flavorless and the crab cake was okay. I checked the menu Saturday and it described a variety of sauces with the seafood trio - maybe they’re supposed to taste bland.
Long story short - I had a reservation for Thursday night that I cancelled. Opus 9 has been my go to place in the Burg. Kitchen needs to get a handle on preparing steaks - it’s a steakhouse and should be simple enough to cook a steak. Bland doesn’t sell - I can steam up some bland food too. Not easy to go all in with Opus 9 if you can’t deliver.
Awsome steaks, perfectly prepared, served in a comfortable but luxurious setting. I also recommend the Sunday and Monday night special surf and turf dinner at a very reasonable price. This is one of the very best places in Williamsburg.
Nice service, but food was over seasoned and overpriced. Filet mignon was cooked well but not tender and too salty. Calamari was soggy. Disappointing, because we had an amazing meal there several years ago. Won’t go again. Too expensive to take another chance.
We both had the six oz. filet. One medium and one rare. Both were cooked as ordered and were juicy and delicious. The wine list was extensive by the glass and bottle with a good price range. We have been here several times previously and never disappointed.
My elderly father is moving to Tennessee with me and this was always his favorite restaurant in Williamsburg. This was his last time at Opus 9. Jacob was a wonderful server!Everything was perfect!
No rushing and wait staff was top of the line. My wife’s crab cakes were noted by her as the best she has had and my fillet was excellent.
I took my boyfriend here for a birthday dinner. This is an excellent steakhouse. It is on the more expensive side but it's well worth it. The food is outstanding; I had the filet mignon and I could cut it with a butter knife, it was that tender. The staff is also attentive, personable, and helpful without being overbearing. Even the manager stopped by to ask how our evening was going. We both had a wonderful time and would definitely go again. If you have an anniversary, birthday, or other celebration on your horizon, this is the place the go.
This was the perfect place to celebrate our first wedding anniversary! The food was delicious, and our server Jacob was so polite. We did not have to wait very long for each course to be served either. The only "complaint" was that the soundtrack started over about 15 minutes after we got there - but the selection was so good that we didn't mind! They played instrumental versions of movie soundtracks, so it was fun to guess the movie while we listened.
Wonderful ambiance. Scrumptious food. Outstanding wait staff. Jason and his team were amazing. We visit Opus 9 every time we are in Williamsburg and it’s always a special evening.
My husband had to send his steak back 3 times to get it right. They did offer 25 percent of his dinner only. But very nice and staff friendly and gave him free desert for his birthday
First time dining here. Food and service was excellent. Highly recommend it.
Opus 9 is one of our favorite restaurants and one of the best steakhouses in the country! Always great atmosphere, impeccable service and delicious food. This visit was no exception. Caprese and spinach salads were some of the best we’ve ever had - fresh and delicious. Opus 9 has some of the most tender and flavorful steaks you’ll find anywhere. We both had the filet mignon, simply salted and grilled perfectly medium. Outstanding! Potato and asparagus side dishes were delicious. Top off the meal with fresh berries and creme brûlée and you’ve got one of the best meals you’ll ever eat! If you go to Williamsburg and you like great steak Opus 9 has to be on your dining list!
Food was yummy and George our waiter was delightful!
David provided us with great, personalized service for our anniversary dinner. The Brie appetizer with puffed pastry is out of this world!! (Go here just for this!) The special was a great value and delicious! Their steak is always tender and perfectly seasoned. We will be back! Highly recommend, esp for a special occasion dinner!
We absolutely love the ambiance and great service!
Opus ( has a great Sunday Brunch at a very reasonable price. Everything was prepared expertly. The made fresh waffles and omlets are great. The variety will suit anyone for a great Sunday Brunch.
Wonderful dinner experience in a beautiful restaurant!! The steak was cooked perfectly and the New Orleans Shrimp appetizer was amazing. The sauteed vegetables could have been better- they were not on par with the rest of the meal but altogether a great meal.
A bit pricey but well worth it for special occasions Steaks are cooked to perfection and many seafood options. Creative sides as well. Service was too-notch.
The food was delicious. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Excellent service!
Bright my friend for a birthday celebration lunch and as usual it was great!
A Special Place
Opus 9 never disappoints! The food, service, and ambiance proves to be a powerful combination!! We always love the food, no matter what we have ordered! Servers are friendly and efficient! Beautiful decorations surround you making it a perfect place for any occasion!!!!
Perfect place for a good conversation!
Outstanding steaks. Exceptional Chateaubriand. Mac and cheese side was also excellent. Limited wine list especially “by the glass”.
Food was mediocre
Everything was great. Our server Junior was very professional and made our morning brunch a true pleasure. The song piano jazz music was also a nice touch.
We had an extremely wonderful time celebrating our 17th anniversary... it was our first time visit this restaurant and it was an absolute pleasure!!!
Outstanding food, attentive wait staff and managerial staff. Nothing to improve upon.
My wife and I have been coming here for 5 years. We are from out of state. Opus 9 is by far one of the best fine dining restaurants you will find anywhere. Service is exceptional, food is great. Get the filet without the bone and you will not be disappointed. Servers will take care of everything.
We've only frequented the restaurant for dinner, but they do have a bar area, but have never been in there.
This is a very nice upscale steak and seafood restaurant. We had the filet mignon and lobster tail. They were cooked spot on and were tasty. The service was great.
Celebrating wedding anniversary. Nice restaurant with good food and friendly professional staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Opus 9. It was everything we expected - great food, great service.
The appetizer of walnuts apples and Brie over a flacky pastry was Devine. Steaks were perfectly cooked and delicious. Wine ,a bottle of Silverado, was half price
The atmosphere is relaxing, the service is outstanding and the food is out of this world. Best filet around made to perfection to your taste. Lobster tail that melts in your mouth. Desserts that make you want more.
Steaks were very good. The baked potatoes and steak fries / wedges were dry, overcooked to the point of inedible. Service was spotty with George. Inconsistent on things as simple as refills (hot food delivered with empty glasses on the table and had to wait to for several minutes to get refills; happened several times throughout the course of meal). Also dropped off dessert menu, came back 20 minutes later with bill at which point I told him he could take dessert menus). Bill was wrong, disappeared for 15 more minutes until I followed him to physically get the updated bill from him. Basically 35-40 minutes from completing meal to getting bill.
