Ophelia’s never disappoints!
The food was amazing. From the baked oysters to the wonderful chocolate mousse cake everything was terrific. There were manatees playing in the water about 20 feet from the shore and the jumping fish were quite entertaining as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
There is no better restaurant in the Sarasota Area. Fantastic food, beautifully prepared and presented and the outdoor scenery that can't be beat. The outdoor setting is unparalleled at any other restaurant. We saw tons of dolphins and manatees. We also saw the new Tiki bar boat float by. What a setting. This is particularly important during COVID 19 time where it is safer to dine outdoors. We are local and regret how long it has been since we visited (one year). We have now committed to go every few months. Life is too short to deny ourselves dining at Ophelia's..
Celebrating an event
The menu had great variety. We decided on the lobster. It was an excellent choice!! 1 1/4 lb lobsbster, already out of the shell with shrimps, scallops ans octopus. It was a great meal.
Our first experience at Ophelia’s and we were seated outside. It was a beautiful view and although the appetizers were good, when our main entrees of fish came our table was swarmed with flies. Couldn’t finish our meals because with every bite there was a fly in your face. We were told this is a common occurrence. They had no room to move us inside and we ended up just sacrificing our food to the flies and left. Overly expensive meal to give to flies.
Awesome food and outdoor deck overlooking the bay was fantastic. Definitely high end with great service.
Really enjoyed our peaceful birthday meal at Ophelia's. Both inside and outside seating are wonderfully ambient.
Food was delicious, but as expected, expensive. Food bill was $120 for two sharing an appetizer and desert. Also throw in 2 drinks each of house wine and draft beer at $21 a round. We were $200 out the door. We sat outside which was lovely, but hot at 7:30pm. When the Lazy Lobster entree arrived so did a swarm of black flies that were so bad we had to move instead inside. Our waitress said the flies love the seafood. We were moved inside to the bar area, we asked for a table in the restaurant but were told they were all reserved. We sat in the bar and watched the hostess sanitize menus and other staff clean glasses. Not the most romantic of setting for our anniversary dinner. We had the key lime pie to go! Food was delish
Given that it is summer in Florida, one would think that Ophelia's would have better fans and misters on the deck and we were seated well within the COVID 6 feet of other diners which the server said was fine because we were outside....WRONG.
The server had the personality of a brick which is surprising for a place that offers fine dining for a high price. I had said that it was an anniversary dinner but no acknowledgement of that was forthcoming. My $20 glass of wine had a film on top and was way warmer than it should have been (75 degrees....not the 63 degrees I had requested)....fine dining? The dinner was very nice with outstanding lobster bisque and caesar salad. But, overall, the experience was ho hum. Totally lacking in elegance and spirit. Too bad for a restaurant that could have so much more going for it.
I could recommend it to a friend but with reservations.
We sat out by the water enjoyed our cocktails and the escargot was the best I have ever had.
We were made very welcome from the valet parking to the attentive wait staff.
The food was outstanding.
A very enjoyable experience.
Amazing food, service and atmosphere!
Food & service were great. A/C was not working properly so it was a little hot inside restaurant but I'm sure that will be fixed. We have always enjoyed dining at Ophelia's
Great vibe! Wonderful service and V excellent good! Had diver scallops ! Everything was solid just a little pricey ! Thanks for being open
Seating on the outside was safe but very hot. Overhead fan was out of balance and terrible squeaky. Next patrons asked it to be shut down. So we sweated. Restaurant can afford to repair the fan. Salads over priced. Restaurant no longer recognizes birthdays although website asks if you are celebrating. Overall not a great value and building needs to be remodeled.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner inside by the window. Tables were set a distance apart, and the service was excellent. You can’t beat the view for a romantic get away.
Phenomenal experience great view ... incredible food
First time there and it was amazing. The food was great and our waiter was very entertaining.
The food was very good...well prepared and nicely presented!
Our food was amazing as was the service. Great quality food. Big portions! Nice wines and drinks
Ophelia’s was recommended by a local (we were on vacation) and we loved it! Great bay views. The food and service were top-notch. It was quaint and romantic and not crowded. We highly recommend! The lobster entree was phenomenal!
Great location and servers. Food was good. Not my all time favorite. The Ambiance made up for that.
Salmón was undercooked. You would think a restaurant that charges $32 for salmon could prepare it medium without issue.
Absolutely wonderful! Highly impressed! From Drinks, Service, Food was outstanding! Dessert So good we are going back tonight.
For the price the food should have been better. The pasta was over cooked and the shrimp were chewy, the key lime pie was not edible. Everything was bland and just alright, would not recommend.
Great service all the main dishes for dining were high standard and big dishes with excellent taste
Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, impeccable service. A perfect meal for our first dinner as husband and wife.
Wonderful food, service, and overall ambiance! Enjoyed our dinner. Very romantic.
One of the best restaurants in Sarasota! Great food, service, and ambience!
Great experience from the minute we pulled into the lot. Everything on the menu looked delicious and our server pointed out popular items and described a few dishes in more detail. The cocktails were on point and I’d recommend you save room for desert :)
Beautiful setting. Quiet. Good service. Filet was OK. Wife loved the shrimp and waygu.
Another delicious meal, taking advantage of the Savor Sarasota offerings.
Excellent dining experience. It was a little noisy inside but that did not take away from an amazing meal. Be prepared to use valet, parking is limited.
Our go-to place for special occasions. Food is exceptional, the service always attentive and friendly and the ambiance is wonderful.
Great seafood, servers knew the product. Suggestions were thoughtful.
The food and surroundings were over the top!
Great service, atmosphere and food quality. Nice, reasonably priced wine list. Zero complaints
Food was good, nothing spectacular. Mussels were excellent main course was average.
