Ophelia's on the Bay
Noisier than usual but didn’t really disturb our belated Valentine Day dinner!
Lousy slow service, very disappointing, particularly since last year‘s visits were very enjoyable.
The food was bad as well and not worth the prices charged. Too bad, since this is an outstanding location.
A full moon on a cool and gentle evening at a table right on the water. Friendly attentive service. Great Ambience. Doesn't get better than this in Sarasota.
Won’t be going back due to the nightmare of a parking lot, we were left waiting for 30mins to get our car from valet service and god only knows where they took my car to be parked which looked like way down the dark road somewhere never again
This was a birthday celebration
We loved the view and the staff put us at a great table
We had a fantastic dinner on our last night on Siesta Key at Ophelia's on the Bay. The crab cakes were as good as those we have had in Maryland, the entrees were delicious and the Key Lime Pie was AMAZING. We would give Nick our waiter 10/10.
Took a jacket to be sitting outdoors. Never needed it. Very co fortable sitting by heater.
Food was excellent— very happy— we’ll be back !
Chris was a great waiter and helped celebrate our anniversary
We are so thankful to have this lovely Restaurant on our little island. We enjoyed another wonderful dinner with impeccable service by Cassie. We started with delightful cocktails (love the hand stuffed blue cheese olives) followed by the escargot, wedge salad and the crab cakes. Being from Maryland which is known for crab - I was pleasantly surprised to have delicious crab cakes here - they were perfectly prepared with no filler and full of sweet crab and a nice crunchy exterior. The flounder was broiled to perfection served with lobster mashed potatoes that had tender chunks of lobster. We also enjoyed the American Waygu beef filet Oscar and a lovely bottle of Sancere. The dessert trio was a perfect bite when shared by 3. Looking forward to our next culinary experience at this lovely restaurant and the wonderful care provided by Cassie! Thank you to all the wonderful staff (shout out to the Valet team - they get a work out parking all those cars) we will see you again soon!
Service and food excellent !
The food, location and service was excellent. The parking is valet only and not very well organized.
Overall, it was a nice Valentine's Day dinner with my fiance.
This was our fourth visit to Ophelia’s. We started with the lobster bisque and it was phenomenal and we shared the eggplant crepes which were very good. My wife had the lamb chops and they were also very good. I had the poached lobster dinner. I was a little disappointed with the lobster, it wasn’t what I was expecting. The wine selection was excellent and our server Jeffrey as in the past was great with his suggestions and took very good care of us.
Outstanding! Sit on the dock and view the snook while dining!
The oysters Rockefeller were cold and had too much spinach. Shrimp scampi was good.
Amazing food and the service was just as good. We sat inside and while inside was very nice I anticipate that outside would be even better. Parking is a nightmare, even with valet. Plan to arrive at least a half hour early to figure out parking. We ended up parking down the street and walking up.
The whole event was nice. The valet service was quick.
MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO OPHELIA'S FOR VALENTINE'S DINNER. I BOOKED OUR SEATS ON THE DOCK BY THE BAY 1-1/2 MOS. EARLY TO OBTAIN THESE SEATS. WE HAVE BEEN HERE MANY TIMES AND IT IS ALWAYS SO SPECIAL. THE FOOD IS SCRUMPTIOUS AND THE SERVICE IS TIP NOTCH! IT IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS!
When we arrived at Ophelia’s we were asked our name on the reservation, hostess said she couldn’t find it. We had several correspondence with the restaurant telling us in email’s and phone call’s looking forward to seeing us on February 14th. The hostess told another girl just go ahead and seat them, that she had something else to do. Made my wife and I feel like we didn’t have a reservation and where just trying to barge in. As for the waiter and the food everything else was superb.
Had to wait for a table although we had made
A reservation-otherwise quite fine experience
Outstanding! The potatoes were the best we have ever eaten! Grouper and Filet were awesome!
Outstanding all the way around. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Quite possibly the best filet mignon I have ever had...and I am picky when it comes to steak. Service and timing were excellent.
This is one of our favorite restaurants but we were disappointed by the food. We ordered calamari to share as our appetizer and it was awful- rubbery. I told our waiter this and we were not charged for it. I ordered elk rib eye for an entree, an adventurous choice. There is a reason that elk steaks are not frequently offered and I will try to remember how chewy it was when I next order.
The staff and hostess was very nice.
We had a fabulous dinner at Ophelia's on the Bay. Our waiter, Chris, was knowledgeable, friendly & helpful. His recommendations were spot on when we needed help making choices. The staff was courteous and helpful when we needed to change our table request from outside to inside, since it was a cool evening by Siesta Key standards. We had a marvelous night out and plan to return to Ophelia's whenever we are in town.
Far exceeded expectations. Food was delicious. Restaurant was beautiful
Valentine’s Day celebration! Our only bad experience was with the valet:( they got dirt and sand all in our new truck :( so we spent the end of our night cleaning the car. Experience at the restaurant was great though.
I had scallop totteloni which was excellent. My husband had Elk, it was overcooked, waitress took back & they recooked it, it was rare, but ok. My friends had Dorado & Grouper, said it was good. Waitress we have had before, she is nice.
Cassie our waitperson was excellent, enthusiastic and added to our evening
Dinner & atmosphere on the water made for a perfect evening!
Been there many times and this was our first horrible experience and of course we brought new friends! We arrived 30 min early for our 7:30 reservation and had drinks in the lounge and then were seated on time, got our menus , bread and our order was taken by 7:45. We did not order appetizers and it was 9:15 and we still had no food! At 8:45 our server cane back 1 hr after we ordered to tell our guest he couldnt do her beet salad as they ran out. The outside heaters were turned off at 9 so we got chilly and had to ask 3 people before finally another heater was lit. Many came and went outside before our food arrived at about 9:30... 2 hours after our reservation time! My soup was cold! My husbands elk was dry! We were offered 1 small glass of Brut champagne for our long wait which 3 out of 4 of us were drinking beer. Very disappointing.... then had to wait another 10 min to find the valer for our car keys
Everything was fabulous. Do not understand why I do not receive points for this reservation.
As always, service was excellent, food excellent, view excellent. Our favorite Sarasota restaurant.
We enjoyed Ophelia’s very much, atmosphere was great so was the food. Our server was very courteous and helpful did not feel rushed at all. We will definitely go back on are next trip to seista key
Excellent dining. Food os delicious. Love the Sunday brunch
This was our first time at Ophelia’s. All I can say is wow! It could not have been better in any way. The executive chef is from Maryland and the crab cakes were to die for. I had the filet and my wife had the salmon. Both out of this world. It’s pricey but totally worth it. And really not over the top pricey. Definitely will be back.
We decided to go to Ophelia’s for my husband’s birthday. We each split our meals. I had the grouper and he had the U-10 Divers scallops. We started with the mussels. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and adequate proportions. We sat by the Bay and saw fish swimming in the water. I already told my husband I want to go there for my birthday!
This is CLEARLY the BEST RESTAURANT on Siesta Key (since the ORIGINAL Summer House closed many years ago). If you want to have great food and service, or for a special night, and you want to dine on Siesta Key, this is the best.
Beautiful location over looking the water, great ambiance and food. Enjoyed our meal very much as well as the New York cheese cake with pestachio nut crust which was outstanding. Valet parking is the way to go.
Our reservation was handled on time and courteously. We were seated on the lower deck right next to the water. It was perfect for watching the fish swimming & various birds. The food was exceptional. The wine list extensive with quality & affordable selections.i highly recommend Ophelia’s for a fine dining experience.
