Olio Pizzeria is a causal pizza bar/salumi bar/wine bar/full bar which was inspired by the myriad neighborhood pizzerie and enoteche (wine bars) found around the corner from just about every piazza in Italy. This idea began to take shape before Alberto and Elaine Morello even opened Olio e Limone Ristorante, their fine dining Italian restaurant next door. Wine bars serving boutique salumi and formaggi are all the rage in Italy, as is a regionalism which they are excited to share with you. Sicily is an emerging powerhouse, and touches of Sicilian food and wine delight their guests. You’ll also find exciting tastes from Campania and other emerging regions on their menus, wine and beer lists. Now open for takeout. Buon appetito!

Delicious pasta and pizza, along with a wonderful wine list, gave us a great meal and a pleasant evening. I've been here several times, and never had anything that wasn't authentically Italian and extremely tasty. The friendly staff can give you some recommendations, but I'd go with any of the pizzas--thin crust, topped with interesting combinations of things like mortadella and artichokes--the Caesar salad, or whatever pasta looks good to you. They've got everything from a perfect version of the standard spaghetti and meatballs to exotic and interesting penne dishes. The multilevel dining room and patio make it busy and private at the same time--lots of fun!
Cleo is the best.
Food was delicious - we both had pizza which was really great! Sat outdoors in a small courtyard...nothing special but clean and quiet.
Delicious food. Wre have been here many time and are never disappointed.
There is a need for some training in people skills in this restaurant! Consistently not service oriented and rude. The food is great, but I like to eat where there is some appreciation of the customer so I won't go back for a while.
WE came for an authentic Italian bistro experience and it was just what we remembered (pre-pandemic) and hoped for. Funny and engaging wait staff and timely service of , of course, delicious food.
Patio dining was lovely and glad heaters were on! We enjoyed the garlic pizza bread to start with lovely Caesar salad with creamy dressing and not too much garlic. The calzone was huge and delicious filling of sausage & veggies. More sauce on the side would have been a great addition. The lasagne was delicate even with meat sauce- loved the bechamel which added another layer of flavor.
Overall a good experience. It would have been better if there were enough heat lamps for all the outdoor tables.
This place never fails to produce an authentic and quality dining experience. I’ve eaten here quite often and I’m rarely ever disappointed. I always look forward to eating here even though I cook this style of food quite often at home. The only hard part is not ordering menu items that are my favorites. I need to explore the menu a little more.
This was one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. On this visit, it was apparent the Covid19’s impact on its quality. Charcuterie platter was a mess of cold cuts. Other dishes were fair. Service was really good. Still a decent place for Pizza. Not a place I would return to on my next visit to Santa Barbara.
Solid choice for elevated pizza, salads, pasta, and a reasonably priced wine list. Everything is fresh and nicely prepared. Will keep going back.
We love Olio Pizzeria, we understand that you all are just getting back to serving inside, so as much as the food was excellent as usual, the ambiance is not like it used to be, (we get it), our waiter was super friendly, nice and professional, we just didn't see much of him. When it came time to pay our bill we waited and waited. But all good! We will be back!
Love Olio great pizza and affordable excellent restaurant
Really wanted to love this place but the food was subpar, the salad wasn't good, and our food wasn't that great either. We had the lasagna and the chicken parm and it wasn't good at all :(
First time back since the pandemic. It was nippy outside. Food was wonderful.
Great service and excellent food and drinks. Reasonably priced too! It was our first visit, and we will definitely go back when we’re in the area!
Olio pizzeria is our favorite restaurant.
The food is authentic Italian.
We ordered the chopped salad, the prawns in a tomato sauce and pizza.
All were delicious.
We sat outside next to a heater and felt very safe and warm.
The service was excellent.
The food is always delicious! Sometimes they get overwhelmed and service is a little slow, but they always try their best to keep up. If it happens, they usually bring free dessert! We love going to Olio!
The food was delicious!!!
Reservation was for 7:30, waited by front door for 15-20 minutes. Got seated and waited until 8:15 for anyone to come over to our table (45 minutes). Had to ask hostess if anyone was working our section outside. Asked to light heater 4 times and he kept saying "I'm going to do it right now". Never did. Mediocre food (sausage and shrimp pasta) came quickly (the pizza was good), but waiter never came back and we finished our food. Sat in the cold for about 20 minutes after eating. Asked another waited to bring our check and never did. Finally went inside and asked the bartender to send out our waiter. Did not come. Found our waiter in the restaurant and asked him to bring check. Finally did. Would not go back due to the horrible service.
Pizza was delicious, especially the one with mushrooms and truffles. Crust was perfectly done. All the food was delicious and it was a lovely dining experience.
Food quality has declined- at least on a busy Friday night.
We ordered Pasta Bolognese and the Diavola pizza. Both were excellent. The bolognese sauce was delicious and I believe the pasta was homemade. Great service!
This was by far the best service experience. I initially made a reservation for inside dining 5 people. My friend was uncomfortable with inside dining and we asked the host if it was possible to get the seat outside. She wasn’t very helpful. And we were going to leave the restaurant. The waiter Cleo, who served us inside as we were waiting for the rest of our group to show up was extremely helpful. He didn’t want us to leave! He really thought outside of the box and took an initiative to set our table upstairs and even brought the heater! We couldn’t be more grateful for Cleo and his extraordinary service. He made us feel special and was very attentive. He deserves the role of the manager in Olio Pizzeria because we love dining out and have never met anyone who was more driven, attentive, polite and problem solver. This place was always one of my favorites in SB but now we for sure going to go there more often. Hope the owner recognizes Cleo because employees like him has to be rewarded for hard work and dedication.
Best pizza we have had in many years, the salad a d bruschetta also very good!
The food was good but not worth the money. Service was fair at best. Our waiter was supposed to place our to go order when our dishes were served but I believe he forgot. Instead he put our order in when we asked for our bill and we waited an additional 20-25 minutes.
There was no social distancing at this establishment because if the patrons who were seated outside complained they were cold, they had them move indoors, so every table was occupied.
Very very Poor service, pizza was soggy, very bad experience.
Always spectacular! Great family dinner.
Wine was just ok
Amazing as always. So nice to be back. Our first dinner outdoors since October!
Juan and staff were exceptional. It was our first time and we are definitely coming back.
Best pizza I’ve had in a long time!
Service is always wonderful
Fantastic service and food. Outdoor dining was great with patio heaters and we were able to bring our pup. See you next time.
The experience here was disappointing when we dined over the President’s Day weekend. I know Covid has taken a big toll on restaurants but I feel this establishment is having a difficult time adapting. The hostess lacked any training and seemed incapable of hospitality. She seemed overwhelmed and defensive in making any modifications to seating. The kitchen was very disappointing the food in every respect lacked flavor other than salt. The soup tasted canned, the pizza dough yeasty. I was appreciative of the energetic and professional waitstaff- they deserve credit for keeping the restaurant afloat.
We love this place! We go every week and absolutely love the calamari and pizzas.
Olio Pizzeria is one of the most authentic pizza spots I’ve been in the states! Having lived in Florence and traveled over Italy, there is something very unique about Italian pizza that most places here can’t get right. Olio not only gets the pizza right, but offers authentic ingredients and a menu that is true to Italian recipes so you KNOW it’s legit! I got the Diavola pizza and it was insanely good. Great wine list as well with both Californian and Italian wines. I highly recommend Olio!
Delicious dinner and fabulous service, per usual!
Ate inside - with Covid we felt very safe because they had spread out the tables but also have outdoor seating that is very nice.
