Olio Pizzeria is a causal pizza bar/salumi bar/wine bar/full bar which was inspired by the myriad neighborhood pizzerie and enoteche (wine bars) found around the corner from just about every piazza in Italy. This idea began to take shape before Alberto and Elaine Morello even opened Olio e Limone Ristorante, their fine dining Italian restaurant next door. Wine bars serving boutique salumi and formaggi are all the rage in Italy, as is a regionalism which they are excited to share with you. Sicily is an emerging powerhouse, and touches of Sicilian food and wine delight their guests. You’ll also find exciting tastes from Campania and other emerging regions on their menus, wine and beer lists. Now open for takeout. Buon appetito!

Great food and service.
This has been our favorite pizza in town for years. Lately, service is slow. Although there is a sign stating to be patient while they get their staff up to speed after Covid, there were only a few tables occupied when we went. There were multiple tables empty and it still took about 15 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. My husband wanted a glass of wine and waiter was kind enough to offer him a taste of several, but all clearly had been opened for days and were flat. My Manhattan cocktail was watered down. Normally, it is the best pizza crust in down to last night it was soggy although edges were great. Service was really weird too. Waiter said that he was new so he didn't know about certain things on the menu, but then I asked how low he had been working there and he said 2 years. Lots of other things, too. I really hope that they get their act together soon or they will start to lose our business. Come on Pietro. You do this well, stay on your staff to do better.
Servers were very nice but the restaurant is severely understaffed. Expect a long wait, even with a reservation. Excellent food and ambiance.
Great Italian food and vibe. After living in Northern Italy, Olio Pizzeria put us back there again. Great food, atmosphere and service! Highly recommend.
Was told this was the best pizza in town. There were many to go orders happening while we waited to check in for our 7:00 reservation. Seated promptly had an excellent craft cocktail (their Olio martini) had the Caesar salad and two pizzas for the 3 of us. First, the salad was great, good dressing and fresh lettuce. The Carbonara pizza was a favorite served with a sunny side up egg on top. The other pie was the Capricciosa. Both pizzas were delicious with thin charred crispy crust. We enjoyed the food the service and the setting. Our server seemed a bit busy like maybe they were short handed but he managed it all with a lot of effort! We would definitely return and recommend this place.
One of the best pizza restaurant in SB!
What made me the happiest was that they have actual good Italian wine! The pizzas were a little thick, but the flavors were amazing. Definitely coming back!
Sat on the back patio which was nice. But the highlight was the food. Pizza was awesome. Tried the Margherita and the seafood ones. Also the sausage and peppers, and the Branzino, were all very good.
Bar service was a bit slow, we were told he does drinks for the pizzeria and the main restaurant so he was slammed. Server was very nice tho.
Would absolutely go back.
Always enjoy Olio Pizzeria!
A Santa Barbara favorite! The best wood fired pizza, great service and ambiance.
Very good food and service
We went there to celebrate our oldest son getting promoted from elementary school. The reservation was easy to set online and when we got there we were seated immediately. Our sever, Sawyer, was wonderful and attentive. He had light conversations with us and made us feel at home. The food was delicious and brought out timely. We have 3 children and they were hungry but everything was perfect. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Ate outside. Was perfect with heater. Food great as usual. Excellent salad & yummy pizza. Service wonderful. Love returning again & again
We had come to this pizzeria a lot over the years and it was one of our faves! I don’t know what happened last time, but all of our meals were terrible. Flavorless, over cooked, and even the pizza was terrible.. It was like it was a completely different restaurant than we had been to before. Hopefully they will straighten it out.
Great Pizza and very authentic Italian. One of the best in California!
Great pizza and pasta. We enjoyed the wine list selection all the way through the butterscotch pudding. Great place.
Food and service were as usual great. Screaming toddler whose parents just didn't get it that it was his bedtime, and just lingered over their wine until his crying reached a fever pitch and mom finally decided it was time to go.
Made reservations for 2 and when we arrived a couple minutes ahead the Hostess had just given away our table to a couple without reservation who had arrived just ahead of us. We then stood and waited about 15min for them to scramble and prepare another table that was right in the traffic lane and much less desirable. That being said the rest of the service was great and so was the food. I’ll chalk that up to her having an off night.
Food was great but service was off. Slow as if they didn’t have enough staff that night.
A very nice experience overall!
This is the most authentic Italian food in Santa Barbara!
Everything was great. We were seated promptly for our reservation. Tried a few Italian beers and loved them. Excellent fried cauliflower and Caesar salads for starters, as well as the pizza bread which was like a pizza crust with tons of olive oil and spices. We also tried the margarita DOC pizza which I can’t recommend enough and the branzino. Food and beer were 5 stars, service was good but a little slow, probably just because we were outside. Highly recommend.
We've come to Olio Pizzeria numerous times over the years, and our experience last evening was very disappointing. The salad, our all-time favorite, was mediocre, at best, and the pizza didn't seem to have been fired in the wood oven. The meat toppings, as well as the pizza, itself, were barely warm.
Our drinks, ordered before the meal, came after the salad was served in spite of the fact that we had asked the server to hold the meal until we had had a chance to enjoy our cocktails.
We will not return any time soon.
Delicious pasta and pizza, along with a wonderful wine list, gave us a great meal and a pleasant evening. I've been here several times, and never had anything that wasn't authentically Italian and extremely tasty. The friendly staff can give you some recommendations, but I'd go with any of the pizzas--thin crust, topped with interesting combinations of things like mortadella and artichokes--the Caesar salad, or whatever pasta looks good to you. They've got everything from a perfect version of the standard spaghetti and meatballs to exotic and interesting penne dishes. The multilevel dining room and patio make it busy and private at the same time--lots of fun!
Cleo is the best.
Food was delicious - we both had pizza which was really great! Sat outdoors in a small courtyard...nothing special but clean and quiet.
Delicious food. Wre have been here many time and are never disappointed.
There is a need for some training in people skills in this restaurant! Consistently not service oriented and rude. The food is great, but I like to eat where there is some appreciation of the customer so I won't go back for a while.
WE came for an authentic Italian bistro experience and it was just what we remembered (pre-pandemic) and hoped for. Funny and engaging wait staff and timely service of , of course, delicious food.
Patio dining was lovely and glad heaters were on! We enjoyed the garlic pizza bread to start with lovely Caesar salad with creamy dressing and not too much garlic. The calzone was huge and delicious filling of sausage & veggies. More sauce on the side would have been a great addition. The lasagne was delicate even with meat sauce- loved the bechamel which added another layer of flavor.
Overall a good experience. It would have been better if there were enough heat lamps for all the outdoor tables.
This place never fails to produce an authentic and quality dining experience. I’ve eaten here quite often and I’m rarely ever disappointed. I always look forward to eating here even though I cook this style of food quite often at home. The only hard part is not ordering menu items that are my favorites. I need to explore the menu a little more.
This was one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. On this visit, it was apparent the Covid19’s impact on its quality. Charcuterie platter was a mess of cold cuts. Other dishes were fair. Service was really good. Still a decent place for Pizza. Not a place I would return to on my next visit to Santa Barbara.
Solid choice for elevated pizza, salads, pasta, and a reasonably priced wine list. Everything is fresh and nicely prepared. Will keep going back.
We love Olio Pizzeria, we understand that you all are just getting back to serving inside, so as much as the food was excellent as usual, the ambiance is not like it used to be, (we get it), our waiter was super friendly, nice and professional, we just didn't see much of him. When it came time to pay our bill we waited and waited. But all good! We will be back!
Love Olio great pizza and affordable excellent restaurant
Really wanted to love this place but the food was subpar, the salad wasn't good, and our food wasn't that great either. We had the lasagna and the chicken parm and it wasn't good at all :(
First time back since the pandemic. It was nippy outside. Food was wonderful.
Great service and excellent food and drinks. Reasonably priced too! It was our first visit, and we will definitely go back when we’re in the area!
Olio pizzeria is our favorite restaurant.
The food is authentic Italian.
We ordered the chopped salad, the prawns in a tomato sauce and pizza.
All were delicious.
We sat outside next to a heater and felt very safe and warm.
The service was excellent.
