Olio e Limone Ristorante, located in downtown Santa Barbara's historic arts district, serves artisanal Italian cuisine. Meaning “oil and lemon” in Italian, their restaurant’s name reflects husband-wife team Alberto and Elaine Morello’s philosophy: rely on the integrity of the ingredients and quality of the preparation to provide Santa Barbara diners “simply sophisticated” Italian cuisine served in an inviting atmosphere with European hospitality. Start with eggplant souffle, then tuck into a plate of house made duck ravioli. And be sure to take home a bottle of their own olio, an organic extra-virgin olive oil made from Sicilian olive varieties.
Bonus: their Milano-styled Olio Crudo Bar, and authentic pizzeria next door at Olio Pizzeria.
Private dining in the Cucina Room for up to 40 guests to resume once permitted.

This was our first dining experience here and it certainly won't be our last. We truly enjoyed ourselves. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. There are many vegetarian options.

Hostess was rude when we arrived (obviously over worked/tired), we were seated 20min after our reservation time, the waiter gave us water once we’re seated and took another 30min before they came back to ask if we wanted an appetizer. Food arrived an hour after being seated and the pumpkin ravioli was so sweet it was not edible as a main dish. Overall poor experience.

We had a great meal at Olio e Limone. Salad and hamachi appetizers were very fresh. We order the specials (sea bass and short ribs) as our main. Both perfectly prepared. Service was excellent, wine selection unique. We will be back.

This place was perfect for a delicious meal for two on a trip to Santa Barbara. Left feeling very satisfied.
Risotto was incredible and the special was linguine with seafood was delicious.
Can’t wait to return.

Food was good. Greeting terrible. Disorganized and borderline rude. Dover sole special was almost $50..No mention of price, unfortunately. We would try again, as the food was good. Maybe just a bad night.

Food is a little pricey but very good. Was easy to make a reservation last minute for a weekday which can be tough in Santa Barbara at the better restaurants. Service was attentive and fast. We ate outdoors and they have a lovely patio.

Tremendous food.
My wife commented that the beet salad we shared was the best ever. My daughter started with the bruschetta which was also excellent. Entrees we’re all very good. Even though my wife’s filet dish was the best between us three, the two pasta dishes were prepared exquisitely.
We are based in Saint Louis with a plethora of great Italian restaurants, this Santa Barbara establishment ranks up there with our best.

The beef carpaccio tastes like you’re eating a salty brick of shaved Parmesan cheese. The flavor and texture of the beef is entirely overpowered by the salt, arugula and cheese.

Duck ravioli was good, the spicy crab meat + prawn spaghetti was delicious, and the creme brûlée was a delightful end to the evening.

Their American style was the mildest tasting hot bean water- almost like they accidentally re-used beans. That was weird. Next time I’ll get espresso with dessert.

Service was okay, ambiance was okay (we sat inside).

Overall: a decent experience but not outstanding.

Great food and service. They need to repair or replace the chairs on the patio as they are the worn out snd mine had a huge hole in the seat that I didn’t realize until I stood up to leave (so look before you sit!). But besides that is was a great experience.

The special, the veal scaloppini in marsala sauce, was delicious; best I've ever had. It was beautifully accompanied by perfectly roasted potatoes, broccolini, and green beans. My husband's meal, the fish stew, was also delicious and very spicy. The carpaccio appetizer was terrific and the lemon tart with shaved chocolate was an artistic and gustatory masterpiece!

OyL has been my favorite restaurant in SB for years. Not sure why, possibly Covid remnants, it just wasn't as amazing as usual. The ambiance was off. The service initially was surprisingly a bit uppity, but got better after a bit. The food was not quite as amazing as usual. I am not giving up on them, just hoping they get back to amazing!

This restaurant is always excellent. The indoor ambience isn’t great as it just reopened for indoor service but it was mostly because of a lot of unoccupied tables the service was great and the food is always exceptional.

Everything was excellent—steak cooked to perfection, pasta special was sublime. One of the rare excellent Italian restaurants in Santa Barbara that I would return to in a second! A bit pricey but worth it!
