olea - New Haven
Nothing less than outstanding on a very busy night.
The Valentine's Day experience was fantastic! The food was some of the best food we have ever eaten and we are looking forward to a return trip. The service was also excellent!
Even on a busy night like Valentines day, Olea makes dining out a pleasure. The food is delightful, as usual, and service is excellent despite the the large number of tables for 2. Cocktails always amazing, the special menu had enough choices to please everyone, and servers were attentive. Special touches like red roses on each table and the assortment of desserts to share made the night memorable.
Always a wonderful experience
Always a great meal.
We would happily return to Olea. We ordered from the prix-fixe dinner menu, and while we would have liked a couple of additional options, the food was delicious and well-presented and the servings ample. The restaurant was attractive and busy. Our only real complaint was that although we had a 5:45 reservation to assure we had time to walk to our concert at 7:30 and arrived on time, our main course did not arrive until 7:00 PM meaning we had to wolf it and dessert down and run. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed, so we would recommend some attention to pacing/staffing.
We had a great experience at Olea this past weekend. It was a birthday dinner for my wife so I wanted it to be special. Our server, who was terrific throughout the evening, acknowledged my wife's birthday and even brought us a special small treat with dessert. He also made great dinner recommendations and brought me a tasty non-alcoholic drink.
Superb food, superb service....somewhat loud but very enjoyable. Excellent wine list wih reasonable prices; staff happy to recommend.
We loved the three course seasonal dinner. Every course was delicious and just the right size. I would definitely go back!
A wonderful menu focused on Spanish food with an accompanying wine list. Service was wonderful and don't skip dessert.
Fabulous food- excellent service
The food was absolutely first rate. We had the octopus appetizer and it was the most tender I ever had. The Jamon Iberico was cross cut from the shank, gave it a different texture and more flavor. The bacalao was fresh instead of what we thought going to be dry salted, but was very fresh and delicious. The boneless suckling pig was another new twist, with the meat chopped and rolled into the cylindrical piece and f crispy skin. The sauce was a perfect accompaniment, not more, not less.
The service couldn’t be more attentive and friendly, making a perfect anniversary dinner.
We did the chefs tasting menu and every course was delicious and beautifully presented. We cleaned every plate! Service was on top of everything and very helpful when we asked for recommendations. Best meal we had in New Haven.
Food and service was outstanding, but you will pay for it!
Great food and amazing service. A New Haven favorite among many excellent restaurants.
Wonderful inventive food, attentive service, comfortable business casual atmosphere however VERY noisey and difficult to have conversation. Our favorite restaurant in New Haven - highly recommend! (Just wish the management would add more sound proofing!)
Very happy with the quality of food and service
Wonderful experience. Lots of good choices on the menu as well as the special. Charcuterie was delicious as was the Bronzino. Very nice setting and attentive service.
Great service, food and atmosphere! Highly recommend the deserts.
Always a great experience. My favorite restaurant bar none. Chef Manuel Romero has a real gift for combining flavors and textures to make each meal delightful. Service is attentive, making each meal am experience to remember
This was one of the best restaurants we had the pleasure of eating in for a very long time
I used to love this place. Atmosphere is beautiful, drinks are great, food was not as impressive this time. Would probably go back in the future, but disappointed this time.
Great food. Sophisticated use of ingredients. Very welcoming and attentive staff.
Family dinner for 5 people. Recommended wine was excellent, and everyone enjoyed their different dishes. I will have the verduras again next time we visit.
My roast pork entrée was very dry. The appetizers were small portions and very good.
Always find a great choice for dinner at Olea. Service impeccable as always, good selection of wines and drinks, and creative and delicious meals. We often go pre-theater and have never been disappointed.
Delicious food and excellent service.
We ordered the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairings. Both the food and service were fantastic. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and service.
We had a wonderful dinner off the prix fixed menu in a warm atmosphere with just a hint of wood smoke smell, whatever that was. But it made a chilly night feel warm.
The mushroom risotto with peas and carrots was perfectly done and just the right amount. The romaine salad was fresh and icy, though I am one of those people who likes more salad dressing than most. Unfortunately we declined dessert because we were too full. My guest had the salmon, which she said was great. The tapas menu is creative and affordable for those who don't want to spend a lot...and you could here. Excellent wine list. We were smiling when we left.
Our first time at Olea but we will be back!
Everything was fantastic.
Wait staff excellent and well informed. Food innovative and delicious. Lovely ambiance.
Great atmosphere and delicious quality food. Perfect spot for a date night.
Great wine and cocktails. Most of the food - excellent. For my entree, I had the squid ink pasta - it was good but not the standout compared to our appetizers and my wife's entree (duck). I probably wouldn't order it again.
The cocktails had a nuanced taste - some of the best I’ve had. The ravioli special and the suckling pig were delicious, the vegetura rather bland, unfortunately. Overall, however, superb cocktails, meal, and wine selections. Service was delightful from door to table.
Excellent food and service!
Excellent as always . One of the best restaurants in New Haven
Was my boyfriend’s birthday, I wanted a nice romantic setting with great food and service and got it .definitely recommend for any semi-intimate experience. Our sever was amazing and thoughtful and you could tell he really cared.
Best restaurant in New Haven without any doubt. Food is superb as is service.
Seated in a space by ourselves. A large cold looking room with white light. The large area we were in had many empty tables with a couple seated at a distant table. The wait staff were fine but difficult to understand. My husbands short ribs were good. My shrimp was ok. This restaurant was attempting to be something it wasn’t.
