We have been there before we will go there again it is a little pricey how far is it but well worth it food and service are always outstanding. We were there for my wife’s birthday and Olea is the perfect place to go for a special occasion For a date night out when you want a fantastic meal. Save room for dessert as they are all outstanding.
we came it Olea with high expectations. we loved the chilled gazpacho, the wine was fantastic. my husbands dish, the salmon - he said - was very good. I ordered all sides for my meal. the mushrooms were swimming in EVOO. the asparagus was covered in romanesco sauce and the potatoes were fried. so nothing special - our waiter was lovely - as were the hosts - and without my prompting reimbursed us for the mushrooms and asparagus. so that was nice and truly unexpected. but it was more that the chef has this beautiful produce, why not let it shine - girlled / sea salt / maybe a little sauce on the side but so the textures and flavors shone thru? it was more of a wake up that "vegan friendly" has it's limits.
It was a wonderful even, as always the food did not disappoint!
The ambiance is lovely. The service is excellent, and the food is delicious!
The chef is gifted at mixing flavors and textures to make each selection unique and enjoyable. The waitstaff is professional yet friendly and helpful without hovering. It is our go to restaurant for any occasion. The menu changes seasonally.
My favorite restaurant!
The food and service were excellent! This is our go-to restaurant while we are in New Haven (we are from Boston).
Great food and great service! An overall awesome experience.
Very flavorful food prepared well. Food arrived in timely manner. Sangrias were very good. Waiter was somewhat stiiff and a little cold. He did not offer any help or suggestions regarding our questions with the menu. Always good food
Exquisite food and service.
Our favorite restaurant! The food is simply delectable, the service is spot on and you're made to feel welcome immediately on entering! If you haven't been here make sure you go, book a table today they never dissapoint!
Always exceptional! Pleasant, knowledgeable staff and incredible food.
What Can I say? Five Stars ! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The solomillo (sirloin) was the most tender that I have ate. Stylish ambience
I would recommend this place anytime.
Olea is a neighborhood gem - could be the best restaurant in New Haven. Interesting Spanish-inflected menu, dishes you won't find anywhere else in the area.
Great food, chef is very delicate with the selection of ingredients and plating. The desserts where amazing, great presentation and taste.
Outstanding food and wine. Service was warm, attentive, and helpful. We ordered a glass of wine that didn’t click and no problem exchanging for a different one. The dishes are varied, filling and easy to share. I said to my wife that I felt like a restaurant reviewer as we tried several dishes. We come here about once a year but I think we’ll start to come more frequently.
Great outdoor dining option with space heaters.
loved it. you can write a novel about this place. we loved it.
Ate outside so noise level and ambience difficult to assess. Disappointed in food. Expected “lick the plate clean” food and, although good, we expected better
Great date night with my wife! The food was great & the service was even better! THANKS!
This restaurant is excellent. Superb service, delicious food. We sat outside so didn’t experience the indoor atmosphere, but it looks nice inside too! Definitely recommend for a special occasion.
The food was varied and delicious. The chef has a gift for creating dishes that have different flavors that always work well together. The service is attentive without hovering. Each course is balanced and portions are good. This is my favorite restaurant for any occasion .
Fabulous food and service.
Everything was delicious, and all the service extraordinarily friendly!
The only thing that I didn't like was that the waiter was obnoxious
Great experience. Food delicious. Would highly recommend.
Clearly one of the top three restaurants in New Haven area
Very good food and friendly staff. Terrific location in a charming neighborhood adjacent to Yale campus.
Amazing dinner, as always. The service was kind and attentive and the food is exceptional!
Amazing food, creative and delicious drinks, great wine selection, and wonderful service. Our favorite restaurant in the area.
From the start our dining experience at Olea was immaculate. We were brought to our tables as soon as we arrived and the food was amazing. The beef tenderloin was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and the salmon was cooked to perfection.
The staff was very accommodating and friendly! The food was fantastic and had something for everyone.
Eating at Olea is a gastronomic treat of epic proportions. Literally the best restaurant in Connecticut on all levels. Food, service , and atmosphere. There are always specials. Last nights fresh lobster over burrata with a tomato granita made every bite a treat. The table then shared the eggplant cannolini with vegetables and then I had the roast sucking pig over dauphinois potatoes. Again the honey chocolate dessert was shared by the table. We try to go at least once a month and look forward to our next visit!!
The food was excellent as usual, especially the chef fish special! One of the best places to eat in New Haven.
We went to Olea to celebrate a birthday. It was an early dinner so expected it to be quiet. Inside the restaurant was completely empty with workers shuffling about. We asked for outdoor dining, which they accommodated. Sadly, sitting there felt like we were sitting at a funeral - absolutely no ambience or music for a restaurant of this caliber. The service was very slow and the waiter came back to confirm our order which was wrong. We were provided some potato appetizer, courtesy of chef. It was ok, but was cold and quite frankly at this point, we were ready to be disappointed. The food came and was good, but not superb as one would expect. It took them 30 minutes to print our check and when it finally arrived, it had one extra dish on it - the one that we confirmed with the waiter we never ordered early on. I realize these are interesting times and good help may be hard to find. But overall, will likely not return. Too bad.
The food was excellent. The most tender octopus I’ve ever had
Olea has great Authentic high end Spanish food. The appetizers and desserts really stand out as interesting and different from the average offerings in the area.
A beautiful meal, as always. Tables very spaced out for COVID. A relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, with warm people and exquisite food. We can’t wait to come back!
Absolutely delicious meal with phenomenal service. Everything was delicious. Olea is my new favorite restaurant in NHV. Came here for DPW dinner no. 10.
