The Old Surrey Restaurant is Surrey’s best well- kept secret. Built in 1918, it was the residence of Lou Jack and his household until it was converted into a restaurant in 1974.

The interior has a crisp, clean aesthetic that is enhanced by hardwood floors and the enlarged photos of historic Surrey that adorn the walls. There are five distinct dining areas on the top floor (including a cozy library) and a banquet facility downstairs. The cuisine is French with a splash of West Coast flare. A treat for new and seasoned guests alike are the signature dishes that are prepared and flambeed tableside.

The restaurant has been family-owned and operated since 1974 and in 1984 the restaurant has entered into a partnership with the family farm in Ryder Lake overlooking Chilliwack from the nearby mountains. The Old Surrey is well known for its free-range lamb and veal allowing customers to enjoy fresh organic ingredients.

    Once a month, we invite you to an intimate and immersive dining experience: the Chef’s Table. Set around a communal table for just 10 guests, the evening is built on connection—between guests, with the chef, and through the food itself. There is no menu. Instead, guests place their trust in the chef’s creativity and seasonal inspiration. Over the course of the evening, you’ll be guided through a multi-course tasting menu, each dish carefully crafted and paired with wines that elevate and complement the flavors. Every course is introduced personally by the chef, offering insight into the ingredients, techniques, and stories behind each plate. This is more than dinner—it’s a shared journey of flavor, spontaneity, and conversation. Seats are limited, and reservations are essential.

                  the Old Surrey Inn is a classic and has been around for 50 years. The old house has been renovated to a restaurant with small, quaint rooms for privacy. The food is excellent and the table service for Caesar salad, home made ice cream and fancy coffees is a long forgotten tradition. This restaurant is great for a couples night out, or dinner with friends and family - they can accommodate it all. Highly recommend you book your next dinner out at the Old Surrey Inn.

                  The food is amazing, we have been twice & have enjoyed our meals both times. The service staff is attentive & friendly & the restaurant is relatively quiet. As with any fine dining establishment, the pricing reflects the quality & service. I highly recommend Old Surrey for a special occasion!
