We had a wonderful time. It was too chilly outside for us to participate in the outside roast but we hope to visit for another one! The food and sunset dinner was pure perfection and we highly recommend ya check this place out!
Wonderful customer service from the hostess to our wait staff. Loved the seafood and want to attend their next oyster roast that was in full force outside as we dined inside. The view is breathtaking. Loved it!
If you sit over vent ask for vent cover so you don't feel draft up your legs.
Food was great, service also
We always enjoy our yearly visits to the Old Oyster Factory! The food, wine, waitresses, waiters, hostesses, runners, bussers, & bar staff are all excellent & professional in executing their jobs!! Keep up the good work, We also like seeing that management has a nice staff recognition program in that we, too, can help to participate in that by dining at your other establishments.....bravo!!
Great food. We had a window table with a gorgeous view of great sunset. Waiter very personable and efficient.
We were at the restaurant during restaurant week in Hilton Head. We had the gumbo and mahimahi, both were excellent. The entre included green beans and rice. I thought the green beans could have cooked a little longer. We had chocolate mousse and key lime pie for dessert. Both were excellent.
The restaurant was extremely busy. "It's restaurant week"... We had reservations and were seated immediately when we arrived. We were given a window seat so the water view was great. Our food and service was high quality which we expect at Old Oyster Factory.
Really enjoyed our first experience at Old Oyster Factory. Worthwhile to go again!
Great location and nice sunset views. Happy hour oysters are a good buy, but today they were not chilled, almost room temp. Dinner was the restaurant week special, but overall was not too good. Our second visit in a couple weeks, same experiences. Much better food all over the island, will not be back too soon.
The Old Oyster Factory is always a great evening. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Excellent food and service with a beautiful view to top it off. Don’t miss a chance to dine here
Very disappointed in the quality of the food. My fish tasted like a frozen TV dinner. My wife ordered the "special" , steak and it was under cooked and full of grizzle.
The service was good and he views are amazing. Just don't go and expect exceptional food.
Excellent food, good variety
We love the Old Oyster Factory. The food is always good and the view is amazing.
Very nice restaurant a bit off the beaten path overlooking the water.
Food was very good.........Excellent scallops(4) for $29.95. Crab cakes were very good.......quite spicy but very good quality of crab meat and minimal filler.
Very busy the evening we ere there. Quite noisy.......probably not the case when not quite so busy.
Overall, a nice evening........Our server was outstanding.
The pecan crusted grouper with a peach beurre Blanc sauce was fresh and delicious. Great atmosphere
Love love love this place! Would recommend to anyone. We’ll be back next year for sure .
This place is like an old friend as it's always inviting! Beautiful views along with fantastic, local tasty seafood and can't forget the complimentary hush puppies that are delivered to your table with each meal! Sunset (early dining) menus are also available. This establishment is a must visit when on the island. Great happy hour as well!
Place to view beautiful sunsets if you are on the correct side. Food was OK but we had the sunset menu; perhaps the regular menu has a bit more flavor. The price is right for the sunset menu. The room that we sat in was just being opened so was a bit chilly. It probably would be warmer as more people came and the heating caught up. Overall, it s a great tourist visit but there are other areas to be explored if you want more flavor and pop to your meal.
Decided to try this place on an impromptu trip to HHI. We arrived a few minutes early but were seated by our reservation time.
The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside; I can’t comment much on the exterior or view as it was dark when we arrived. One thing to note is that there are stairs everywhere. There is a lift (not an elevator) on the outside of the building for the mobility challenged to get into the restaurant, but once inside, more stairs to get to the hostess. There is seating to the right on that first level with the door, and the washrooms are on thar same level but to the left. The hostess level has the bar and main seating, but there are additional areas down stairs. The stairs are a consideration for those with some mobility challenges - there are 3 to six steps depending on the area.
My husband ordered the fried fish and shrimp; he was happy with the fish but not the shrimp. (I tried his shrimp and thought they were tasty.). I had the seafood boil - it was probably the spiciest I’ve ever had, to the point that the broth reminded me of red mud, but about halfway through I got used to it and it has me reconsidering my spice level for my next boil. Best part of the meal hands-down were the hushpuppies - we could have eaten several more baskets of those.
All in all we enjoyed it and will probably go back. (We visit HHI about twice a year.)
Excellent dinner and great service from our waiter Jack
Nice selection of entrees. Participates in coupon book offer with BOGO in the winter months. Get a book. Enjoy a meal
All 4 of our meals were outstanding! Our waitress was terrific! A window seat with a magnificent view was fantastic! The only thing that would have made the experience better would be that the sun would have set later.
Wonderful food and friendly service
Best food on Hilton head Island
Our family was visiting from Ohio and wanted seafood. My husband and I are not seafood eaters so we had your steaks. A friend told us about your BOGO,
Food was good, my husband had oysters, he said they were very fresh we had the special for that night which was flounder with shrimp and scallops. We would definitely go back again.
We love this local restaurant. Great view and on the water. Perfect place to take pictures.Delicious food and very fresh fish. Service excellent and wait staff always have a smile. Hush puppies are the best!
Great views any time of the day.
Service was great
The service and ambience was good. The food was disappointing after the recommendations we had received. The value and quality were below expectations
Great food excellant service.
We were worried the quality of food would change when the owners changed - everything was the same quality expense etc...
We have always liked the OOF we water very happy to not be disappointed
Excellent views of Broad Creek. Friendly and competent waiter. I had the Carolina catfish which was tasty and moist. The hush puppies were VERY good and plentiful. I also had a half dozen local raw oysters served perfectly. The only complaint is that the parking lot has fine white dust that gets on your floor mats.
We had been enjoying the experience greatly until a couple with a service dog was seated next to us. My husband is allergic to dogs and he had to leave. What a disappointment. There must be some way to accommodate each party so one is not inconvenienced. I appreciate the need for a service dog, however, this doesn't take into account the effect on someone else.
Second time eating at Old Oyster Factory this weekend. Awesome! Peter , our waiter, was very attentive. Looking forward to visiting again!
We’ve been coming to the old oyster factory more than 25 years! This had to be one of the best meals that we have ever had there. We love the peaceful dining. The atmosphere was great. We loved our waitress. We even had dessert! Looking forward to going back again soon
Always a pleasure. Missed our favorite tomato salad but everything was perfect. Alec was terrific. Will be back soon.
This has been a favorite for the many years we have been coming to Hilton Head and never disappoints. Servers are always friendly and efficient as well as the delicious food being consistent! Hush puppies are top notch as well!
This was our second visit to OOF. We specifically came for happy hour because oysters are 50 cents and there is a special appetizer menu. We were greeted warmly, sat at a window side table, and immediately asked for our drink order. We ordered 6 dozen oysters and 2 appetizers. Oysters were fresh and beautifully presented. Service continued to be attentive all evening. Such a great experience. Highly recommend!
