Old Oyster Factory
Wife and I have eaten here several times and love it. Something's different this time. Pork chop was extremely salty and slightly undercooked. Shrimp cocktail tasted a little aged. Wife's rib eye was cooked correctly and tasted great.
Good food, nice setting. We went early and watched the sun set.
Family gathering for dinner so we had a larger than normal group of 8. We are from out of town and looking forward to some seafood. The food was very disappointing. I ordered half a pound of shrimp which had zero seasoning on them. My son had fried shrimp and fried cod which was very bland. My mother had a shrimp boil which was so over seasoned with Old Bay that she couldn’t eat most of it. I also had the fried green tomatoes which had some kind of salsa on them which overpowered the actual fried green tomato so that was disappointing as well. The hush puppies were good and I heard the mashed potatoes were good. But it definitely seems like the chef needs to revisit the seafood recipes.
I've never had tough grouper before. Ever. Anywhere. I rarely send food back, but for pice they charge, I wasn't going to settle. Waitress kindly offered to replace it or bring something else. I chose the salmon. It was adequate. Thicker, meaty part was cooked perfectly, but the larger flatter part was dry and overdone. Flavor was great. 2nd time there, and may be the last time. Great waitress, though.
Enjoyed the food and service. View was pretty as the sun went down. The desserts were really good, we ordered 3 different ones and they were awesome!
The food was exceptional and we really enjoyed our first time at the Oyster Factory! Our waitress Suzy was very attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.
We love this restaurant and have for many years. We were however, very disappointed when we arrived on Thanksgiving and were provided with a four course very limited menu. With a name like the, "Oyster Factory" we were so looking forward to a vast seafood selection. It should have been specified when reserving online that the menu was going to be preset and preset. Thank you.
Beautiful view and great food. Friendly staff who did not appear to be upset having to work Inn Thanksgiving.
Overall the dinner was good. The deserts were bad.
Always a great place to eat. The hushpuppies are the best of anywhere.
We participated in the special Thanksgiving four-course menu and enjoyed every morsel. The views are spectacular and the service was beyond excellent. We could not have asked for a better experience in choosing Old Oyster Factory.
Great food. 1st experience with Thanksgiving meal. Food was excellent. Service was wonderful making the Holiday so relaxing and special
Food, service and atmosphere were great! Recommend
The noise level was little high, but the food was very good. We caught a sunset at the very beginning of our evening. The view is one of our favorite things about OOF.
We have been going to the Old Oyster Factory for 10 years. The quality has been consistently great all these years. Recently we have taken advantage of the Happy Hour prices on raw oysters and drinks to our total satisfaction. Keep it up.
Two great nights in a row. Food was fabulous, views were spectacular and our waiter Frank was the best-we always make it a point to dine here while on vacation and we actually went twice this trip!
We went there with friends to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary, sat next to the window in the bar, and had a wonderful evening - topped by an “on-the-house” key lime pie in recognition of our anniversary!
First time in Hilton Head - happened to see the ad for the Old Oyster Factory on the back of a restaurant guide. We went because it said it was on the water- but it was a great find all the way around. The view was beautiful and the food was great. Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly and fish was very good. We were there early enough that they had an option of smaller portions for a special price. Terrific for us as we find most restaurants to give much too much food. The service was wonderful so it was a perfect choice.
The food is always good here. Sometimes great, but always at least good. Lovely water views.
Decent size cocktails. Lots of variety with selection of side dishes. The waiter was fun and informative. We go here every year we are in Hilton Head and have never been disappointed
Great evening and excellent service and meal. We would go back every night !
Little noisy but good food and service. They promptly changed our table when we complained about it being too cold. Very accommodating
Not a huge deal but I asked for fries to be well done and they were limp and soggy. Disappointed.
Massenlokal mit durchschnittlichem Seafood.
Unser Kellner war erstklassig.
The food and service was wonderful at the Old Oyster Factory! We will definitely visit again when we are on Hilton Head Island.
Had dinner on patio with our geriatric dog, who was able to access via their handicap lift, super nice about this! Food overall was very good, my filet was outstanding, oysters on half shell were really fresh, special swordfish enjoyed by family. Service was only fair, our waiter seemed pretty lackadaisical and we had to prompt him for nearly everything. We would go back and do reccomend. Prices are up there, we didnt go all out ordering for 3, only 2 glasses wine, no dessert and bill w tip was close to $200.
Great experience! Amazing food and atmosphere. definitely a must when you visit HHI.
Thanks for the great service James!
We have been coming there for over 10 years on our visits to Hilton Head - never disappoints!
Beautiful setting, great menu, wonderful server. Food was outstanding, will be back.
We had a group of 8; six of us had raw oysters that tasted fresh and we enjoyed at the table.
Later that night and the next day, several of us experienced bad reactions which we attribute to some of the oysters being off. We're all experienced oyster eaters and this shouldn't happen(and hasn't happened in the past). Not a great experience for those of us who got sick.
Worst meal we ever had at the Oyster Factory. Sea Medley was over cooked; probably form being heated in a microwave. The shrimp were so shriveled that they looked like a postage stamp and had no taste whatsoever. Except for the scallops, the rest of the selections were terrible.. in addition, the waiter did not know how to pour wine properly.
We have eaten at the OF for the past 15 years when we come to HH each spring and fall. We usually have this dish and it is usually excellent. Not this time.
Great food! Great service! Beautiful view no matter where u sit!
Husband and I visited based in a local recommendation. We opted to sit outside for the sunset view and it did not disappoint. Prices were reasonable, serving sizes were good and the food was excellent. The tuna tacos were fantastic, and seafood medley and ribeye dinner were delicious. We opted for the Creme Brûlée and Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert and they were tasty as well.
Not likely we will be back in the area again, but if we are .. this will be a regular dining choice!
Wonderful place to eat. Great atmosphere. I like to take friends and family. Wonderful view of Broad Creek. Pecan Crusted Grouper is Out of This World!
Our server Courtney was as delightful as the food and atmosphere.
Courtney was our server and she was fabulous
The steaks were absolutely delicious and cooked perfect for each person’s preference. Wait staff was very attentive and courteous. It’s always a pleasure dining at Old Oyster Factory. We’re in the area about twice a year and eat there each visit.
There is no better reason to come to Hilton Head than to eat oysters freshly plucked from the local waters. and there is no better place to experience them that Old Oyster factory. The food is great and the service matches up to it. Get a table just before sundown and you will also have a wonderful view of the glorious colors that come forward.
Booked group of 10. Was given the worse table next to front door. Food came out quickly and was under cooked and some cold. Had a Pametto Bug crawling around our table for 30 minutes. Asked waiter to have it removed and he took no action.
My goal was to get to the restaurant to enjoy the sunset view but we missed this. I know it's supposed to be great. I had a reservation which helped get us a nice table view.
The Food was VERY GOOD. I had their Grilled Seafood platter. Quality & Freshness of Food both very good as was the plate presentation.
If you love a lot of Fresh Fish choices ... this is the place to go.
I had one of their Columbia Merlot Wines by the Glass... not great... stick with Domestic brands you like.
