We enjoyed our dinner very much! We were early and sat in the bar. Enjoyed the non alcoholic cocktails and they were able to seat us early. The noise level was pretty high which made hearing the waiter difficult.
My fish was delicious!
Great meal, great service. Would definitely go back.
Table next to us had an argument...for an hour and a half. Told server, told manager. Was told “Sorry”
Everything was awesome. Biscuits with honey butter were perfect. Pork chop and snapper were outstanding.
I don’t say this lightly, this was the best steak I have ever eaten. Wonderful service and great atmosphere.
Great great food. Great great service.
We wanted to treat our friends to the best dining experience possible, and we were terribly disappointed. For starters, the chairs in the entry area were very dirty. The food was over-salted, and portions were very small. The $130 steak was not at all special. Cocktails were served in the smallest stemware I've ever seen at a restaurant. Dinner and wine for four was $900, and we've had better food at one-tenth the cost. I would not recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Food and service and atmosphere were all delightful. The problem came with the check - there was an extra item on the check and, after I called the server back, and before I could identify the specific item on the check that was a problem, the server said "Yes, I'll take that glass of wine off." I feel that there was an effort to load the check, that the server got caught, and the server certainly did a lousy job of handling the situation - as if this was simply a game and not a question of the restaurant's credibility. I will likely not return, even though the food was superb.
The restaurant was really great in every way but one. Our expensive wagyu steak was simply not a high quality cut if meat and at 150 for a plate it sets a high expectation. That being said it was cooked perfectly, everything else was nearly flawless, the service was great and they gave us a small break. I'd go back for sure, I just wouldn't suffer through a poor steak next time. After the first struggle to cut through it I should have known better.
Loved our waitress, she was very kind and offered to go over many of the dishes in detail especially since I am an expecting mom. I cannot wait to go back.
The food was amazing and the bottle of wine that was recommended to us was exactly what we were looking for. Get the beans and ham and the red snapper. We will be back!
Beautiful setting, great service and great food. A must go while in Austin.
We will be back without a doubt.
Our entrees were very favorable albeit very rich. My date had the fish and I had the pork chop. Both dishes were $45. I felt like that is too expensive. The pork chop was 10oz so a sizable portion and cooked to perfection. The accompanying sorghum was maybe 4-6 tablespoons and that was rich and salty.
My date's fish was the better dish, but again very rich. 6oz of fish with a collard green puree which I felt was overcooked, again maybe 4-6 tablespoons.
Ribeye was amazing and drink pairing was excellent!
Food was exceptional. Noisy when it was busy.
Food is nothing to write home about and the prices don’t justify the meal. Quantity is fine but there is nothing unique about the flavors. Further, the menu is extremely limited. Our server was kind but very timid. Alcohol wasn’t served at the appropriate temperature. The setting is okay but doesn’t feel cozy even though the environment feels it should.
Quaint location. Love the homey atmosphere. Food is amazing and the off menu biscuits- you’ll think you died and went to heaven!
I was wondering why I did not collect points on my reservation at your place
Fantastic service. Absolutely get the biscuits whatever you do.
Unfortunately, the food was truly awful. It was completely over seasoned to the point of being an inedible and the sauce with the fish was revolting/overpowering. Would not come back ever again.
I dream of their chicken plate all year and am in heaven when I get the chance to go.
We shared the 16oz ribeye...it was to DIE FOR! I was a little worried about the price but sharing with two made it a little better but, in any event, the quality and taste were superb! We also had the pork chop which was succulent and very big! Great service and great food...can't ask for more. We will be back!
Amazing! Every bite was delicious.
Delicious! Best biscuits ever!
Amazing night out. It was everything I hope for in a dining experience. Incredible food, great, friendly service, nice atmosphere. No mistakes. Able to enjoy my wife, our time together, and the great food.
Amazing service and amazing food. Five star all the way.
It was our first experience at Olamaie, except for a Food Festival luncheon with Marcus Samuellson. We loved the cocktails, and the fabulous biscuits with honey butter! My redfish was really wonderful, and I enjoyed my husband's black eyed pea dish, although it seemed a bit expensive at $30. Our children split the steak with three sides, and they enjoyed it thoroughly. My daughter asked for it to be medium, and it was definitely more rare than she liked. We all loved the desserts! We will be back!
Very lovely food and service. Building was too hot but we were moved to an outside table where it was lovely.
Had a great birthday dinner here. Food was incredible, but definitely a pricey menu.
We had a fabulous business dinner! Attentive service by well informed wait staff! Inventive delicious food and good wine list.
Cool craft cocktails
Food was amazing. Pricy menu.
Fantastic twists on southern comfort food. Best biscuit I ever had. Red Snapper and Hoppin’ John were delicious. Friendly and attentive staff.
Outstanding service & wait staff
Outstanding meal in a beautiful cozy place. Biscuits lived up to reputation, our waiter/sommelier was attentive and knowledgable. The pork loin was out of this world. Not to mention a perfect bottle of red wine. We will definitely be back.
Pricing was outrageous. What we did order was well prepared but definitely not worth the money.
The service and ambiance were great but the food was just average for the price. It was way too salty for our taste.
Food was very salty and we told them, and I would have expected them to offer us something ! They informed the chef... food also took a very long time.
We were so excited to eat here for a second time because we LOVED it the first time around. This time every dish we ordered was entirely too over salted! It was so salty we almost couldn’t finish it. So bummed!
Best biscuits in the world!
