Made a reservation for a 145 pm table. Arrived and was told by host the patio closed at 145 so only tables available were along a public walkway in direct sun.
Server didn’t greet us for 15 minutes.
Food took forever and server never checked on us.
Were charged for three items and had only ordered two.

This brunch is worth every cent! It is so much good food and the view is beautiful. The unlimited mimosas that are included with the brunch are awesome! Highly recommended it but make sure to make reservations as they are really busy.
I made the reservation to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. I guess I should have mentioned it to the hostess, because no one said anything about it. We were sat in a corner of the patio, great view of the bay, and waited quite a while for our server. When my husband ordered, he said that he and I were sharing the ribeye. We ordered glasses of wine, a cocktail and an appetizer. The appetizer came before the drinks, which was odd. When the food was delivered, the ribeye was on one plate. So, we split it ourselves. Everyone was nice enough, just not very attentive.
It was satisfying. The ambience is always great because it is facing the water. Our server Manny was great but the wait was far too long. We waited a good 10-15 mins after being seated to have the server take our orders. Little details such as no eating utensils or plates offered when our appetizers came out. They were more prepared a few weeks ago when we brought our friends.
The food was great especially the braised ribs, since both our husbands enjoyed the tender meat and side dish. The sea bass was a bit over cooked because it was a little tough to fork out and chew. The dessert was ok because the ice cream was much smaller compared to previous experience.
Over all, it was a great Sunday dinner with our great friends.

It was good food, our waiter was very nice and attentive. Only complaint I have is the fact they stop serving lunch menu at 5:00pm and they don’t start serving dinner menu until 5:30pm.
Food was very good. Our reservation had been deleted but they quickly found us space and we had a terrific dinner looking out across the beach.
I wanted to treat my sister to a very Belated birthday so we booked a weekend getaway to San Diego. So I knew we where going to be staying at The Bahia Hotel & Resort and that the Catamaran Hotel and Resort is the Sister location. So I decided to make a reservation for the Oceana Costal Kitchen for Champagne Brunch and I'm so happy that I did because one it was Memorial Day weekend and second the food, service and weather were excellent. My only regret that I have is not making a reservation for dinner at the Oceana the night before. So if you are going to be in San Diego you should make the Oceana a dining destination to explore because you will not be disappointed in fact you will be in awe of how amazing the dining experience will be. We enjoyed a starter of sushi, king crab, bagel and smoked salmon with capers, red onion and diced egg along with roasted vegetables .... oh and did I mention the Mimosas that never seemed to get half way down the flute. Our second course was prime rib (medium) and Chicken and waffles, and yes my sister and i split them that way we could enjoy them both (sorry I cant pick a favorite because both were on point) Oh and as the saying goes we saved the best for last petite desserts which included a cookie fruit tart, mini blueberry cheese cake and a tiny, chocolate filled pyramid dusted with gold and hazelnuts which honestly was the best because I usually shy away from having chocolate for dessert, but in this case I'm happy I bent the rule. I hope to visit San Diego again, so when I do Ill make sure to dine at the Oceana!
Everything was perfect except this one thing: screaming toddlers. I love children and I know they can be noisy. But this was unbearable screaming and the both sets of parents did nothing to get it to stop. And I do fault the restaurant for not at least asking the parents to control the situation. I wouldn’t recommend it to any friends because of this and it might be that because it’s basically a resort restaurant that they don’t care about repeat customers.
Waiter brought us ordered dinner in about 10 minutes after we ordered it. For me, it's a clear sign that the pricey food there was not prepared for us but cooked long time ago and was just warmed up in the oven hopefully not in microwave. I am a chef and it is unacceptable. I asked why it was so super quick? We are closing at 9pm so we wanted to bring you a food quickly. Really? We paid over $130 for 2 drinks and 2 dishes that were not fresh made to the order but cooked before and just warmed up for us.
The quality of the food has gone way down hill post pandemic. The brunch was just poor quality. Looked like old food put on a plate. Even the burger was disappointing.

First time here, seated quick for our reservation, staff are friendly and polite, waiter checked on us right away, food came within 15 minutes, seafood tasted fresh, waiter communicated every 15 min, ambiance is right across the bay, live music is excellent! Will come again!
Wedding anniversary. Service, food and drinks were delicious.
This is a very basic restaurant, with a nice location. Our table was dirty upon arrival and some food items are pre-made to get out quickly. The coconut crab soup had an unfortunate bite to it and inedible. Pizza was basic, as was the sushi.
The manager was friendly and trying to get the outdoor heaters lit since it was a bit chilly outside. They were pretty old and corroded so it took quite a bit of elbow grease.
Overall, this is a basic hotel restaurant. Maybe come for drinks only.
We were underwhelmed. Despite making a reservation, we were seated in a pretty poor location. We had to wait for them to get the table ready but then there was only one chair. We were denied the option to stay at a different table that was available. Portions were lacking. Breakfast potatoes were 4 small potatoes. It was like we were being punished for not ordering the 59.00 per person brunch option. I would not waste my time returning to this one. Sadly, I could go on much longer on the shortcomings of this restaurant, it's just not worth my effort.
Met my 2 good friends for Sunday brunch. Now, I get it, I have worked in the restaurant industry for 20+ years, we are still in Covid, good help is hard to find, yadayada, so for this reason my bar was already set low. Catamaran didn't even meet that. Got sat ok, then left to sit and sit for almost 20 minutes before water is offered. Throughout our brunch we had to flag staff down for water, champagne, clearing plates - it was pathetic. Manny was attentive and professional, even upbeat. All other staff - no eye contact, not graciousness - they looked miserable to be there. So, working in the industry I knew this was a management issue - sure enough over 4 hours into our brunch I saw the manager do the obligatory "walk through" - eyes glancing over tables, then scurrying off to the back of the restaurant. Food was cold. Service completely absent. Even validating our parking - 3 of the 4 of our party were validated, the rest had to fight with the parking attendant to be able to escape the parking lot or face a $32+ parking fee. Beyond ridiculous. I know we take chances going to the tourist spots for a nice time out, but Catamaran, this was beyond amateur hour. Take a look at your Oceana management team - some serious basic training is needed. I enjoyed my friend's company, being close to the water - but the food and service were subpar. Not the experience you'd expect at the Catamaran for sure.

We came here to celebrate my mother's 100th birthday. As a lifelong San Diegian, the Catamaran holds many wonderful memories for her. The food was amazing! The ambience was lovely and we were well taken care of. It exceeded our expectations. Thank you for a lovely evening.
We had an enjoyable evening at Oceana. Cocktails were good including a negroni and an old fashioned. The wine selection is good with many reasonably priced options (for restaurant prices--not BevMo!) We had short ribs and Sea Bass. Both were very good. The view is great since we were looking at Mission Bay. The question I always ask myself is: Would I go back again considering food, service, and price, and the answer is Yes. Enjoy!

Initially the service was awful, it took over 30 minutes to even be served a drink. The waiter had no knowledge of the menu or anything about the food. The worst part was the bread basket, the bread was dry and cold even though they charge you $9 for a basket of bread. The butter they served with the bread had mold on it (which I didn't realize until after eating some of it). After letting them know about the mold they tried to make up for it with a bunch of free appetizers and by switching our waiter. I appreciate the gesture however instead of sending me more food than I can eat I would have appreciated more just discounting the food we had already ordered and clearly wanted to eat. The entrees were good but I still would not eat there again, overall it was a poor dining experience especially considering the cost of the meal.

We sat outside in a bay view booth with live music playing. The service was friendly and professional, every course was delicious and the wine list excellent and fairly priced.
