   I have been coming to Oceana for over 30 years. I frequently come on Thursday nights because of the 50% off bottle of wine promotion. I get to have a 50% discount off of my favorite wine Pinot Noir Bella gloss. Tonight we were informed that Bella gloss was not available for that Discount this evening. We specifically came as we have done for maybe seven years since that promotion started. I told the manager of how long I have been coming to this restaurant and asked if the manager could make an exception. He replied in so many words “the rules are the rules/ too bad we have other very nice wines. Come back again and maybe you’ll be lucky to have your favorite wine on the soecial discount, another time.” The catamaran used to be friendly flexible and valued me and my friends who frequent this restaurant for years and years. This mechanical rigid attitude was a big surprise for me after 30 years. I wonder if I will continue to go here anymore.

   Go here. Go hungry. We suggest you order for one and you will both be happy. Food allergies were addressed better than we have ever experienced. Friendly people serving excellent meals is a superb combination.

   My family and I had the BEST time while dining here. We had front row to the beach and were able to watch our kids play on the beach while my husband and I enjoyed a nice meal and relaxed! The service was so kind and friendly! The steak and apps were wonderful as well. We loved it so much we ate here back to back nights!

   Although the restaurant was half empty we had to wait for the kitchen to catch up to be seated. Once seated the staff was very friendly and informative. However, the rib appetizer was over cooked and cold. We waited 45 minutes for our entrees. The food was incredibly over priced and portions small.

   Our order took forever. Told there was someone new in kitchen but nearly 2 hours for dinner? Waited 30 minutes for dessert and it only came when I complained. Considering for the last 20 minutes we were the only people left in our section, can’t say it was busy as an excuse.

   Entrance is hard to find. Seated inside but not really much of a view. Suggest sitting outside. Service was slow at first and got better. Table near us had kids running around. Food was good.

   Dear Craig, It sounds like there were a few hiccups with the experience, but we're glad to hear the food was good and the service improved over time. Sitting outside might be the way to go for a better view and ambiance. Hopefully, next time will be a smoother experience!

   Food is reasonable for an excellent view of Mission Bay. The restaurant is also beautiful. Service was good, but hosts seemed fairly inexperienced and got shifted from one server to another. Hosts did not look at my notes when I posted my request (outdoor, celebrating anniversary). However when I told the server he was very apologetic and took our dessert off the tab. We ordered 2 salads, an appetizer and an entree. The meal was timed perfectly. Our server was on top of beverages and on all the other items we ordered. Would come again.

    Had a wonderful dinner with friends. Sat on the patio, which even with the cooler weather was perfect with the heaters. Our server Hannah was wonderful, patient and provided wonderful recommendations. Kitchen was very accommodating regarding a few dietary issues - much appreciated! Beautiful ambiance, lovely view. Food was outstanding -- salmon, scallops, sushi....all beautifully prepared and tasty. Great wine and cocktail list. We'll be back!
