Beautiful ambiance, excellent food overall.
Need more servers. We had to flag ours down more than once for service.
The quiche is not very good, better at Marie Calendars.
The burger needs to be bigger for the price.
Lovely setting enhanced by live guitarist singing soft rock favorites.
Food is main positive-decor and setting just average
My chicken on the chicken and waffles dish was dry and chewy. The replacement wasn’t any better so I passed on eating it. The service was slow and inattentive. Our beverages were empty and not refilled in a timely manner. We had to request to have refills as our glasses remained empty until so. Beautiful space but poor service. With so many employers walking around the dining room, we should not have had empty beverage glasses. There are better options for brunch/lunch in the Fashion Island area so I’d recommend to look elsewhere.
We come here often to entertain clients for lunch. Service is always good. Our groups are usually 8-12 people, and the food always comes out at the same time. No one is left sitting and waiting while the others have been served. I like that. It's a little noisy, but that I can deal with. Drinks are always being refilled, etc. I highly recommend this place.
Delicious food and terrific service and ambience. Also, very accommodating with special requests.
Went for breakfast food and service were fine. Casual hotel crowd.
Great experience, but our server could’ve given us better service.
Food was fine service very slow with an inexperienced server. Not sure if I will return
Oak Grill needs to change their menu.
Love the live music.
Great space to catch up with friends.
Always a fabulous breakfast!
Great food, cool vibe on patio with the warm fire and great guitarist.
Great food and excellent wine by the glass selection. A little loud but there was a convention at the hotel and the noise was mostly them. Highly recommend.
More of a Travelzoo issue. The Travelzoo voucher said our dinner included a glass of wine each up to $12. That was misleading because it came out of our voucher meaning we had to pay for the wine. The meat selections were a little over cooked and dry.
They used to have REALLY good calamari and truffle popcorn (from Chef Bracken), but when they changed the name and menu, we haven't dine that often anymore. However, the rib-eye and chilean seabass are delicious and fresh.
Nice place. Wait staff seemed disinterested, intermingling with customers not a priority.
Very busy Saturday night, hostess was very gracious as dinner reservations were running a few minutes behind. Food was very good, server was excellent. Since restaurant was busy they had to seat many diners outside. Weather was very chilly and as servers went in and out of patio door tables inside were constantly getting a blast of cold air as doors opened and closed. If cold outside ask for table away from patio doors.
This is the finest restaurant in Orange County. Chef Brian Tran is the reason this is so good. They set up an amazing Valentine's pre fixe menu. Everything was perfect.
All the dishes seem amateurish, something prepared by someone who has no idea what fine dining is. I can cook much better at home. Other than the food, all others are fine. You are wasting away your good name and goodwill of this long standing establishment.
Excellent service, excellent food quality and presentation!
Our service from Aaron was amazing! We will be back for sure!
We were really looking forward to celebrating my girlfriends birthday party, but I think our party of 12 was just too much for them. It took over 45 min. just to get drinks...and a second round was just as slow. Everyone was getting irritated, so by the time we got our dinner, everyone was already ready to go. The food was ok, but my chicken picata was very dry. Our server did his best, but no one else came to help him out. Also, I really expected them to give the birthday girl some sort of desert to say thanks for the big group...but nothing.
At least we were able to go next door to Aqua Lounge and get a great table with bottle service to save the night!
The portions were very small, which then made it seem over priced. The service was awful.
Great food and service! Really nice indoor and outdoor areas for elegant dining with large groups. We had 24 people at 2 tables and the service was excellent.
The four of us had both Lunch and dinner at the restaurant the experience was different each time lunch the waiter was great he was there as we needed him the food was delicious enjoyed by all. The dinner a bit different the waiter was good but forgot a few requests the excuse he gave was unacceptable. Never saw him after that a bit disappointing. The food at dinner was like lunch delicious
Nice service and good food
Wonderful brunch! The food is delicious and the service is exceptional.
This is my favorite place in Newport for a business lunch. Perfect ambiance, fabulous, cordial staff, nice lighting. Very California! You can sit indoors or outdoors. Understated and upscale. Free valet parking.
Oak Grill does not disappoint. I have dined @ the restaurant for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The food is always delicious, well prepared and presented. The staff members are professional and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
We had a lovely pre-theater dinner at this upscale hotel restaurant. Ambiance was was lovely, however maybe a little stuffy. More of a geriatric crowd at the 6 pm hour. But if you want a quiet leisurely dinner, this is a good place.
Very well done with service for a birthday celebration
We always have breakfast here for special occasions & have rarely been disappointed. Food is so good especially the chicken & biscuits. It’s quiet, clean & service is great. Highly recommend.
I eat here a lot. But the service on this occasion was very poor. I should have said something but was visiting with friends and the time just went by and I didn't comment.
An unexpectedly average experience - from the delayed and cool greeting from host to slow, inattentive service to the food which was ordinary at best. Would not return nor recommend. The space however was attractive.
The service was painfully slow. After being seated, there was a long wait until our server greeted us, followed by an even longer wait (over 15 min) until we were served coffee and water. Fortunately, we were in no rush and enjoyed the outdoor ambiance on a nice morning.
When our food came out, my toast was not served until 5 min after I received my eggs. I hate when restaurants do that because I eat eggs and toast together, so my eggs were cold by the time the toast arrived. The server was extremely slow on coffee refills. He did not know which beer was the “local rotational tap” and perhaps even worse was not able to find out.
The server offered a couple of apologies for slow service by telling us he was really busy and stating it was his first shift at the restaurant. I guess it was more like an excuse than an apology, but it made it easy to give the lowest rating possible for service.
Used a Groupon and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel restaurant. The food was very good with attentive service. The restaurant is right off the lobby of the hotel however, this added a bit to the experience as it was beautifully decorated. Ultimately, would definitely recommend as the entree’s were excellent, wine list outstanding, and overall value worth it. Would definitely visit again in the future.
One of the quietest settings while dining in a Newport Beach restaurant. Service by "Aaron" was excellent.
Been here many times. Service and food was great! Unfortunately, we sat fairly close to large sliding glass doors leading to the outdoor seating, which was still being used for quite a few patrons. We requested of the manager that the staff be aware we were uncomfortably cold and politely asked if they could just be a little more mindful of keeping the doors closed. I even mentioned that I saw sometimes servers had both hands carrying food and realized they couldn’t close the doors behind them. I don’t think the manager said anything to his staff since they continued to leave the doors open, even when they were not carrying anything. Guess we won’t return until the weather gets warmer.
