New Hyde Park Restaurants

Like all Poll Brothers' restaurants, the food, service and ambiance is amazing.

My husband and I were so happy with our dinner choices last night. I had the grilled oysters first which are always so delicious. My husband had the Southern Clam Chowder which is also always delicious. Its not a thick, heavy clam chowder. This one is nice and light and has bits of corn mixed in. Really good! I had the shrimp limone which was fabulous. Light, lemony sauce with perfectly grilled shrimp, a side of mashed potatoes and it came with broccoli but I can’t have broccoli so they substituted string beans with spiralized zucchini. So great! My husband had the pork Osso bucco with gnocchi and he loved it! The meat fell off of the bone. Our servers were fabulous, as usual, and we had a nice time as always.

I noted on the reservation that my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. Shortly after we were seated at our table, our server brought over a bottle of champagne, poured us each a complimentary glass and wished us a Happy Anniversary. After an absolutely delicious meal of grilled octopus, beet salad, scallops, lamb chops and grilled zucchini, we decided to split a dessert, peach cobbler, which arrived with a candle. Both the meal and the service were outstanding and the extra touches made for a perfect evening.

The food is good, just the pecan crusted chicken was a little dry. Others are excellent. The dessert sampler is wonderful and cost reasonably. Our server, Victoria is beyond excellent. She took good care of customers, friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Jonathan’s Restaurant and we definitely will go there again.
