North Shore Kula Grille
Welcome to a place where farm-to-table thinking is behind every ingredient on our menu. Where fresh means seasonal produce picked just a few minutes away; where seafood is sourced daily from local waters; and where premium meats and poultry are raised with the utmost care on small-scale Hawaii farms and ranches.
At the North Shore Kula Grille you can explore the flavors of our islands as they have been enjoyed for centuries – naturally, with organic artisan farming and harvesting practices, showcasing the rich agricultural history of Hawaii and the North Shore in every dish.
Dinner: 5:30p - 9:30p
Prices were to high for just a casual meal place and for what you got.
Kula Grill was fine. That’s about it. The service was great so no issues there but, for a restaurant that seemed fairly well reviewed, it was kind of “meh”. I started with the grilled octopus and it was missing a lot of the things that make a great plate of grilled octopus so enjoyable; there was no char, I don’t think it was tenderized properly and it was very bland. My wife and I both had the Kobe Beef Burger which, again, was fine but very underwhelming for the price and reputation. In summary, I don’t think you’ll leave this place complaining much but you also won’t be telling your friends about it either.
Our server never returned after taking our order. Food was mediocre and over priced. Very disappointed.
Awful service—waited almost 15 minutes to be welcomed by our waitress, and she always seemed like she was overwhelmed and too busy to check in with us. My husband ordered a glass of wine which he never actually received. When he reminded our waitress at the end of the meal, she said “I’m sorry” and giggled. Food was underwhelming and lame for the price tag. My “herb Parmesan” fries were dried out frozen fries with barely any seasoning. And my husband’s fish was two pathetic filets. But it still cost us over $70 for two meals and a drink.
New chef, new and improved menu! Outstanding!
Went in on Saturday to celebrate my wife's birthday. Poor service from the very beginning. Waiter was nice, but overwhelmed. Food took about 30 mins to come out. My son ordered a pizza from the kids menu. The pizza looked horrible and was also burned. The waiter checked on us maybe a couple of times. Nobody else acknowledged my wife's birthday. Her food was subpar at best and mine was forgettable, just like the service and quality of plates. I understand they have a new menu, but it seems this restaurant, and entire Turtle Bay Resort, are still synonymous with poor customer service and zero value. Pity...
Servers were very kind and nice. Food was decent.
Probably worst dinner I’ve ever had at a resort. Chicken with noodles had zero taste. Both were dry with no flavor.
The restaurant was a good choice for dinning in the hotel, and has some great views of the north shore while you dine. Location in the hotel was a bonus, and easy to get to for hotel guests.
Flat bread is great! I love the vegetable chirashi platter. It’s healthy and colorful. However, recommend ordering more. I wasn’t full afterwards.
Service was good and food tasty though portions were large. Location is convenient but actually enjoyed our walk in breakfast better than reserved dinner.
This was a quick place that worked for a dinner on the grounds. The view of the bay is of course beautiful;however, I wasn’t super impressed with the ambiance of the place. The hostesses were lovely though and the service was excellent — such nice people all around. Food was good too!
The food was horrible and unedible. The service was nice and apologetic. We have been coming here several times a year and it is obviously not the same quality, even breakfast the following morning was terrible? Not sure what has happened but high prices for terrible food will not be profitable.
Went to celebrate birthday. Wait staff was attentive, friendly, and engaging, especially to my eight-year-old. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to celebrate on the North Shore.
Our waiter Joshua was very helpful and such a gentlemen .
Yes, it’s a little more for basic foods like flatbread and burgers...but you get the atmosphere, fancy drinks, good service. If you’re staying at turtle bay then it’s a respectful option.
Shrimps were good although the sauce on bottom of rice was too sweet.
Good friendly efficient service
We came here for easter dinner. Food was really good . Our waiter was really nice and awsome. We look forward to coming back next year.
Terrible food. Not farm to table as advertised
Great service. Was seated immediately. Service was excellent. Staff courteous and efficient.
Although there were mixed reviews we ate here. Huge mistake. Probably the worst meal ever in Hawaii
The starter a flatbread came after dinner, flatbread no not really . The crust was white dried out bad bread.
We didn’t like anything for a main, so we both ordered a salad. Both poorly presented on a too small plate, overflowing
With overly dress large piece of green, salad dressing oily with no flavor
We asked for fresh ground pepper, they don’t have, huh?...
I asked specifically how the portobello mushrooms were prepared, she said grilled, hardly
Soggy cold small bits of this. The other salad my husband added chicken too, very dried out
The food was awful. We didn’t finish them. The ambience if you want to use that phrase here,
Was coffee shop from the 1970’s.
Don’t go here , walk down the path to Roy’s
We ordered the crispy shrimp and they were delicious!!! Then we watched the beautiful sunset. Highly recommend!!
Although our waiter wasn't great; he lacked personality, wasn't friendly, and took forever to get us our orders, the meal itself was delicious. And, of course the view is unmatched. I will warn you that if you decide to dine outside you will hear kids (other diners) or the pool kids yelling down at the pool area. Inside may be a better choice if you want to relax and have it quieter.
Dry tastless. Mahe mahe. Chef tried to make it more palatable with to much sauce.
Food was okay, not great value for the cost. We got a mediocre table even though we had said it was a special occasion (one month anniversary). Whole experience was underwhelming.
Food was disappointing. The fish was overdone and chewy. We couldn't eat it.
After bringing this to the attention of the manager, there was a price adjustment
with one entree eliminated on the final check. Still, not worth the visit. Would have been better with take out from the lobby. The food is fresh and tasty and a fraction of the cost of the Kula Grille.
Great service, great food! Pretty view, they always seated us in the back corner.... and hostess puffed when we asked to sit by the window....
Wonderful dining at Turtle Bay for a special occasion or casual dining. The service was impeccable and Kelsea was exceptional at meeting our dining needs. The cocktails were divine and the desserts are a must try. Definitely worth a visit!
This place was great for our young Celiac daughter who is also a picky eater. They had a gluten-free hamburger bun and gluten-free flatbread, among other gf items that she would not eat... because she is a picky eater. Thank you for making our lives a little easier and having gluten-free options!
Slow service. Lamb so salty, we sent it back.
Fish curry was tasteless and was also sent back.
Ahi Tuna was ok, but not great.
Had better Poke from the supermarket.
They should have comped the whole meal, but only did not charge for the fish.
This spoiled our last evening on Oahu
Should have had white tablecloths on table for Valentines Day Buffett
The servers were very poorly trained. Otherwise a nice experience. Try to get an outdoor table for dinner. Our Open Table seating request was honored.
Awful best describes ones dining experience. I have eaten here before but obviously forgot how bad hotel dining can be. I rarely return an item but the baby back ribs were so dry , chewy and overlooked they were inedible. My next attempt chicken pot pie proved a bit better, but would not rank above two stars.
What amazes me is in spite of sub par reviews over the years management had done little to elevate the dining experience. It’s hard to point a finger at staff when so little is demanded by management.
Have accountants taken over everything.
We got there & immediately sat outside. We got to watch a beautiful sunset and listen to live music from the bar downstairs. The food was incredible, our server was great. We’re about to book our vday date there.
We went for New Years Eve supper. The regular menu was changed to a very average buffet which was massively overpriced. As a result the published menu was irrelevant which was a huge disappointment. Only about a half of the food offered was gluten free (not a choice but a necessity in my case). We had one plate of very ordinary mass produced food for $95.
Kula Grille has been a place that my husband and I always go to for our buffet breakfasts when we go to Turtle Bay. The buffet is pretty good! We also have had dinner which was also pretty good. The buffet for New Year's Eve was absolutely horrible! The price of $95 per person for substandard food was ridiculous!! The fish was dry, salads bland, roast beef dry, and desserts lackluster! For that price we could have gone to Roy's except it was a fixed price dinner and I'm vegetarian. I heard many people next to us also complaining! They should be ashamed of themselves for charging that amount of money and not providing the value of food for the price! This is coming from people who have been to Turtle Bay 5 times this year alone!!
Prices were for an high end restaurant but service and food quality were very ordinary.
Very dry fish
