North Italia – Irvine Ratings and Reviews
Great food and a place to hangout with friends to catch up. Small beer and cocktail menu. Everything we ordered was yummy! We had reservations but still had to wait awhile for them to clear a table off for us inside because outdoor dining was a bit cold that night. Our waitress was a little odd. She seemed kinda high to us, very slow to respond but in a good mood, if you know what I mean lol Great atmosphere and vibe. Prices are decent to high. Would def come back and recommend to others.
I've been here many times but this visit was a terrible night! Had to repeatedly ask for waters for the table and bread. Ordered 2 spaghetti and meatballs, one had parm on it other did not. I had to ask for parm that came in a metal ramekin. Husband was brought wrong dish. Squid ink dish and mussels were very spicy. Every request took a long time. Maybe Friday night is not the night to go out! The Hostess was very nice and we got seated on time. It was nice that someone brought drink menus to us while we were seated outside waiting to be seated
We just had the best time at dinner tonight! The food was delicious! I ordered the Chicken Pesto pasta but with gluten free pasta. It was ridiculously good! I've never seen pesto this bright green and was a little skeptical, but was pleasantly surprised by the BRIGHT flavor. I will gladly order it again! Our server, Jordan, was a rockstar. He was super attentive, kind and professional. He made our time at North Italia pleasant amd enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back!
I enjoyed my meal at North Italia. We went on a Saturday night and the place was lit. I had made a reseravation so we got seated right away (there was a long waitlist). I like that the place was open so it felt like a huge dinning room (some people may not like that because you have no privacy). Our server was friendly and helpful. We had to wait longer than I would have liked for our food but it was hot and delicious when served. The salad, main plate, deserts and drinks were amazing. Definitely worth the price. The only reason I don't give it five stars in all categories is because when we walked in the FOUR hostesses (that were all available) were talking to each other completely ignoring me and my partner. They were obviously snobs.
A lovely, mostly 100% authentic Italian restaurant with flowers, candles, and a couple Italian wines I don’t normally see on other menus. It’s a great date spot, but there’s also plenty of room for a group. Please leave the tiny, screaming children at home....and walk carefully on their wood floors because I almost slipped in my grip-less heels.
Our waitress was super friendly and efficient. We could see the kitchen through their massive glass wall - it was cool to see them making all the food. The bathroom “stalls” were actually all separate rooms, and they were clean.
I judge Italian restaurants based on their tiramisu, and almost all of them give me tiramisu from the freezer with sopping wet ladyfingers. This place has delicious tiramisu, probably because they make everything from scratch. Even my friend, who doesn’t normally like tiramisu, enjoyed this one. His caramel budino was very sweet but delicious as well.
An 8-oz pour of friulano, an entree, and a dessert came out to $45 each.
I’ll be back!
Everything was perfect but I was disappointed that we weren’t offered any bread. I noticed the table next to us got some when we were already eating our main course. I don’t know if they requested it but it wasn’t offered to us. It would’ve been nice if we were asked when we were seated.
I am so happy this place opened up in my neighborhood. I wish the parking lot was a little better but they offer valet so it's not that bad. Great EVERYTHING! Not a single thing I've ordered ever disappointed. Brunch is also a great treat! It's best to make a reservation as this place does fill up. I would also highly suggest dining outside.
We have frequented North Italia in Houston, which is considerably smaller than Irvine. I think the ambiance in Houston is better due to its size. But we are of the opinion that most upscale restaurants in Orange County with sister locations in other areas and states do not live up to the overall chain quality. It must be an Orange County anomaly.
Food is very good. We shared the grilled cauliflower, arugula & roasted fennel salad, and mussels. My favorite is the cauliflower! We also shared the paparadelle with ragu sauce. The pasta is made in house and was delicious. For entrees we had the chicken, salmon and the short rib radiatori. All were very good. Service is always great - from the hostess, to the server, and the manager. Very good restaurant!
North Italia has become our new local favorite. We love sharing the dishes and ALL have been fabulous so far. My husband loves the scallops, and I find a new favorite every time. The calamari with arugula, and the truffle toast are amazing. Our new go-to when treating friends to dinner. Next girls night is here!
Love this place. Its my little hang out. It has good food and its just an enjoyable setting. Great inthe summet because of the outside bar and outside setting.
The one thing that sucks is The parking. If you dont mind a valet it only costs the price of the tip and sometimes its worth it.
We were late for our reservation. I wasn’t worried since I had just spoken with them on the phone an hour before our reservation. We were a party of 7 and between an accident and the valet, we were 20 minutes late. At first they told us our reservation was canceled. We were heartbroken! We were celebrating a friend’s birthday. We stood there stunned with our birthday gifts! My friend asked to speak to the manager and luckily she offered us seating outside. It was a huge relief and we were happy to be seated. We enjoyed the board, calamari, the grilled cauliflower, and the burrata cheese with apples. We moved on to kale salad, vegetable salad, and the house pizza. Our server was great about bringing us spoons and new plates so we could sample everything. The short rib pasta was a favorite too. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we ended with the chocolate salted caramel budino. It was amazing! Our night was almost ruined, but we ended up having an amazing time outside! Lesson learned don’t be late!
