With the re-opening of resturants, my wife & I enjoyed a date night outing. Food was excellant.
Our first visit and it won't be our last! Great food, wonderful service!
Food came out quickly, hot, and flavorful. Serving size was PERFECT, enough to leave me satisfied. Will be back!
Family-owned (husband & wife) Italian food and ambience. Moderate-to-higher pricing, but well worth the cost.
Great food and quaint place
This was our first visit since the new ownership. The service was impeccable, food was wonderful. Very extensive wine list. I would highly recommend!
Veal - very tough
Seafood pasta - very fishy tasting. Shrimp, scallops and calamari were very tiny which means cheap ingredients and guessing cheap ingredients lead to the very fishy tasting dish.
Would try one more time but never getting veal or seafood dishes from this place again. Would stick to pasta.
Great food, great service, enjoyed the whole experience.
First time visiting Nonna - it was our anniversary. Great food, great venue, great night!
The new owners are definitely putting the effort into keeping the staples of Nona Rosa intact. The service is still a bit slow. That’s not a new issue though. Menu’s and initial attention given to the customer are betteR than before.
The food was excellent, especially the risotto. Service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back.
After being sold, there are new cooks and lots of servers, but although they use the same recipes, the taste is not as rich as before, but the service is generally quick.
Long wait for drinks, food and final bill. Didn’t appreciate FOX news on at bar. Lost it’s warmth with new owner and staff. New owner was there but completely ignored us.
Just wanted a family dinner with good food and drink DONE!
Seating was 20 minutes late with a reservation. Outdoor reservations were the only scheduling option, but clearly they were seating in side also.
Not enough staff. Waited another half hour for 2 bottles of wine and 2 martinis. Only opened one of the bottles of wine. Had to wait again for someone to open the other bottle. Ordered more bread, never came. Asked for more water. Never happened. All food was cold except one dish. Not sure we’ll be back. Our check never came, my husband had to go inside and track down a bartender to get our bill. He paid and we left. 2 1/2 hours later!
Love the ambience at Nonna Rosa's. Appetizers were fair to good.
We had a hankering for some Italian food and decided to try this restaurant, to which we had never been. It was just OK. We got a the antipasto plate as a starter, and all the meats and cheeses and artichoke hearts were room temperature so it was obvious that it had been sitting out for a while, which was sort of gross. I got spaghetti carbonara and although the pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was too soupy and the there was lots of fat from the pancetta. My wife got the lasagna which was overcooked. Again, the food wasn’t terrible - probably a C-. The restaurant was very busy, especially the patio, which was great to see. We may give it another try.
Just wish the cooks had kept their masks up over their noses. They were breathing all over the food.
I've been here to eat on the patio 3 times this year. Each time has been relaxing with great food and service. Nice variety of Italian dishes.
The food and service is sublime.
Food was good but the service had issues. Not sure why because there seemed to be enough staff but it was very slow. We weren’t asked things like - did we want something to drink. Noticed the table near us having to ask for things several times before they got it.
In time of heightened sanitation needs I noticed a couple things that bothered me. One server took unused silverware/napkin wrap from the people at a table and put them in the new silverware bin rather than the used bin. My first thought was - who knows what germs are now getting on all the silverware and napkins in the bin. Dishes were served with bare hands rather than gloves.
It was wonderful as usual.
Delicious food and great outdoor seating. Had a most enjoyable lunch.
Always delicious at Nonna Rosa! We’re never ever disappointed.
I was a little disappointed by several things.
First, there is a mandate that everyone should be wearing masks. None of the cooks/chefs were wearing mask, nor was the owner when she came to seat us. I was extremely disappointed at this and almost left.
We hadn't been here in many years because since moving it's a bit out of the way for us. However, we recognized our waitress as someone that has been there for quite some time and we've had before. She's lovely and very nice, but extremely inattentive and slow. Inexcusibly so. She's been this way everytime we've been there. It ruins the experience.
The food was not as good as it was in the past. I used to recommend this restaurant to everyone I knew. I don't think I could do this any longer. Everyone in my group was rather disappointed with our meal and dessert which is strange since I always felt they were second to none for authentic Italian food in the TC.
The staff really need to get their act together. The entire experience was more than two hours for dinner, and they took forever in all they were doing.
Lasagna was mediocre. Carbonara was bad. Service was worse.
We’ve moved from Eden Prairie to Blaine and we’re looking for a new Italian place up north. I read about you online and so we stopped. It was the best. Fabulous. Perfect. The outdoor seating was great. Our waitress was great. The food was great. I hardly ate my dinner because I knew my husband was eyeing mine too. Well be back this weekend.
Service was super slow. Order was served wrong. Servers were nice and No harm done just not that great.
Service was extremely slow. We were there 20 minutes before we got a menu. An hour to get our food.
Food was good & moderately priced. Server was excellent - knowledgeable & friendly. A pleasure to eat al fresco on a pleasant afternoon.
The food was really really bland and our waitress was very nice but she was incredibly overwhelmed so the service she provided us was not great.
Their food is great, reminded me of the Italy food from my trip to Italy! The patio is fantastic, especially during these times!
Lovely patio and we felt comfortable and safe. Shade was welcome on a very sunny day. Only complaint.....a large wasp flew into my friends moscato after she had the first sip. Tony was very gracious and replaced it. Enjoyed everything!
Entree was great, but we didn’t receive our soup or salad. Appetizer came out cold, but by the time we saw are server again, it had been 20 min and our meal was coming out. That was also cold.
Had the caprese w/prosciutto app; gnocchi w/shrimp and asparagus; pasta with shrimp. First two were very good and would order again. The pasta dish was good, but we both liked the gnocchi dish better. Tiramisu was very good. Reasonable wine list.
Friend's 75th Birthday. Great food and excellent service! Our number one choice!!
Our experience was great. We sat outside on patio and it was windy. But we still enjoyed our meals and conversation. Max was a great server. Met all of our needs with a smile. Even though we couldn't see his smile (due to the mask) we knew he was smiling because of his eyes. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and had a wonderful time.
Great gnocchi! Excellent service.
Nonna Rosa's really is a charming place. The Twin Cities are short of family-run Italian restaurants, such as they have in the Hill neighborhood in St. Louis, and Nonna Rosa's helps fill this void. We've always enjoyed the food and the friendly service. Love their outdoor patio, especially during these days. Would highly recommend Nonna Rosa's to anyone.
