Casual Lunch, Upscale Dinner with Patio Seating.
Weekend of the Jimmy Buffett concert. No staff to assist resulting in our sitting for long period before service and ran over to dinner meal so we could not use the lunch menu. Waiter said their staffing sucks. That was true. Food not great and very overpriced. Would not recommend.
Never a bad meal there.
Mother's Day brunch. Was OK. Not worth the price - neither the food nor the service. Nothing really wrong - but nothing outstanding either. Meh.
Maybe we caught them on an off day...
We will never go back. Bartender was unfriendly to the point of borderline rude. She was unattentive. Our waiter wasn't much better. The restaurant was extremely disorganized, under staffed, no management present and wound up only having 2 appetizers, one of which was overcooked.
I've been in the restaurant business for 40 years. I haven't seen anything this bad since I worked at Denny's when I was 18 and I was dishwasher working the graveyard shift.
This was our second visit and it's official, we LOVE this place. Fantastic food and wonderful wait staff. Can't wait to go back!
Nola has always been a favorite spot, until this past Saturday night. Service was good but the food was very lacking. It was so mediocre the disappointment we experienced will make us not want to return any time soon. The char-broiled oysters, which are always a favorite were not very char-broiled, but dripping in butter (greasy). The flat iron steak was dry and not very tasty. The grits, were very substandard and that is always a must to have. It will be a while before we want to spend $200+ for a meal & drinks and not be wowed by the food.
Excellent food! Always cooked to perfection. They know how to cook seafood. The duck gumbo is to die for!
Our evening dinner was somewhat inconsistent. We were greeted by a friendly server who quickly brought our food and appetizer. And then.....the wait began. It appears that the kitchen was not prepared for the patrons who arrived and our order just disappeared. 45 minutes after our appetizer, our food finally arrived. Either they were unprepared or they were really proud of their work in the kitchen. Not sure. In the end, the dinners were pretty average for what we paid. This restaurant has potential but they need to figure out the process before they look to fill the tables.
Service was attentive, but food actually came too fast. Oysters, She Crab soup, and Duck Andoulle Gumbo all good appetizers, but not really enough Duck to add that flavor profile to the dish. Redfish with Gouda Grits and Crawfish Etouffe was very good. Shrimp with BBQ reduction and Gouda Grits was tasty, but the shrimp was a little overcooked. Great experience overall.
Food was fantastic! I came with a group of 4, Friday night, not too crowded even at 7. I had 2 White cosmos which were delicious, char-broiled oysters and the fried green tomatoes were to die for! Gumbo was pretty good and I also had the BBQ Shrimp and Grits for my entrée which was great. Only compliant was Service was extremely slow. Our server would disappear for 15 minutes at a time and just wasn't very attentive and it was not busy at all.
Nola Grill did a good job with both the catfish and redfish entrees that we ordered. The bread pudding dessert was also very good. They offer some fun cocktails as well. If you like New Orleans style food, you should enjoy this place.
Food is very good. Service is uneven. Friendly, but disorganized. One visit, the restaurant was near empty and they kept bringing the next course while we still eating the earlier one. On a second visit, it was busy (though not totally full) and there would be long gaps without see a server. Hopefully, they'll improve the service experience as the food is very good.
My only complaint is that the waiter never came to take a drink order. He was ready to take our food orders and we didn't even have water. We then said we'd like to place a drink order, and he happily obliged. His service and comments on the food were excellent other than not asking if we'd like anything to drink.
The Food is Excellent.
The Service is Excellent.
The Location is Excellent.
It is usually very busy, so reserve a table before going.
The grits made with gouda are outstanding!
Been three times and every time they have run out of food and alcohol to make drinks
We enjoyed a delicious jambalaya on a cold windy day. The staff was very accommodating and let us talk as much as we wanted. Wine by the glass is not "house" and was excellent.
We have been there many times and the food is always on point! Very good!!!
As a native from south Louisiana, I was really excited about this restaurant from looking at the menu online. It smelled great when we walked in, and the ambiance was wonderful. The food though. The food was embarrassing and overpriced. I had the jazz fest pasta and the shrimp and crawfish were not blackened, and I'm pretty sure they came out of a freezer. The food was not flavorful and didn't remind me of home. Very disappointing. I won't be back.
We celebrated our 26th anniversary at Nola Grill and had a great time. The crawfish fritters were excellent. We both enjoyed the seafood gumbo and she crab soup. The Jazz fest seafood pasta plus the blackened redfish etouffee were very satisfying. But the star was saved for last.. the Bread pudding as recommended by our waiter. It was a nice finish to an excellent meal.
Definetly not a New Orleans experience, but then again that is asking a lot. I am from Louisiana and still travel to New Orleans monthly. We tried a variety of items on the menu from then Charbroiled Oysters, Braised Pork, BBQ Shrimp, Redfish, Etoufeee and Jazz Paste. All of the items lacked true flavor, but that may of been from the poor quality of the actual food the chief was working with. The oysters were small and dry, which was similar to the redfish. The etoufee was not of the quality I am familiar with but for some it might be ok. The shrimp size were good, but there were mushy. I was even surprised by the wedge salad's lack of bacon and blue cheese crumbles. I would like to say that I would go back and give the place another try, but given the variety of items we had, I will not.
Nice place that has the correct focus on service. Attention to detail is impressive and the servers were very conscience of timing. Nice place for alot less than you would find a comparable combination of quality of food and service.
Great Food!!! Recommend BellyPork Appetizer, Redfish Etoufee, and Flourless Torte!
We met friends for dinner at Nola Grille and the food was great. I'm not a fan of seafood, so I had the stuffed chicken, and it was very good. Others in my party had a variety of dishes and everyone was very pleased. The service could have been better.
Outstanding Louisiana cuisine! This is my fifth visit and I've never been disappointed. The Funny Bird, crab cakes and pork chop are amazing.
Great Place. Service was phenomenal and the food was fantastic. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and also wanted to try what others ordered. Service was on top of everything and had a nice formal feel without the stiffness.
Have been to NOLA's a few times. Never disappoints. Went there to celebrate anniversary. These folks know Creole food! We shared She Crab Soup and Red Beans as a starter. Both very good. Blackened Catfish was very flavorful without being overly spicy, an art. Crab cakes were good, but could've been a little "crispier" for me. Had Bananas Foster Cheesecake for dessert on a personalized plate. Nice touch. Jess provided excellent service. She was attentive, friendly and made great recommendations. Maitre'd was a nice touch of class too.
Went for our anniversary during the week. Nice and quiet, great service, great food. Our waiter did an awesome job of explaining the menu and providing just the right level of service and "quiet"...good value for great food.
The food and service were excellent. Try the Redfish and Etouffee entree. It was delicious!! Charbroiled Oysters were very good. Definitely would return
The food was great. It was a slow Sunday afternoon maybe 5 tables filled in the restaurant. The waiter was a little slow.
I ordered a dirty martini with no vermouth from our waiter. First the waiter could not find the bartender. When he did appear and go behind the bar I saw him grab a bottle of vermouth. I told him I did not want vermouth but I did want olive juice. The bartender became agitated. The waiter brought my drink it was probably 50% olive juice. Then the bartender left the bar and walked to the hostess stand. Staring at our table the whole time.
There are a number of restaurants with good food and most have a good service. At NOLA you are treated as an interruption of their day.
Love NOLA grill; top pick for eating; have been many times in past year.
Amazing and unique dining experience. The atmosphere and service were fantastic. The reginal specials for both drinks and food made you feel just like you were in New Orleans!
Not our first time at NOLA. The Char-broiled oysters are one of our favorites. Each serving of entrée was delicious. Crab cakes, Red fish, catfish. Highly recommend.
Beast Dinner I have had in a long time will be back again soon
Food was good but my redfish fillet appeared to be from a minnow. When I asked about it, the server quickly brought out a nice fillet on the side. Overall I was satisfied.
Nice spot but everything was overly salted. My wife could't eat her soup because it was overwhelmingly laden with salt.
In addition, they may have been short staffed because we didn't see our waitress very often.
It just wasn't worth spending over $100 on food that was barely edible and slow service.
This was my third visit to Nola Grill. The food and service was great. I enjoyed a meal during restaurant week. We had the redfish with grits and the bread pudding. It was all amazing. I'm not a big fan of bread pudding, but theirs was awesome!!
The food was amazing
Erick was amazing, the red beans and rice was authentic and the place was just above our expectations. Love it!!!
Great restaurant we absolutely loved every thing from the service, atmosphere to the entire meal experience . Food and service was outstanding and cant wait to go back!
