Server was absolutely terrible. I would ask for some direction regarding choices on the menu and he was just not helpful. Ask for a classic margarita and he sold me something that tasted nothing like a margarita

We had a great date night dinner at Nobu San Diego. We had some of our usual favorites, but as we try to do with each visit, we tried some new to us items. Everything was great. Quite a few items to choose from on the extensive menu. The staff is awesome and the service is always exceptional.

Honestly, it was great; however, it was overpriced. My only complaint would be the value for the money—dining at many sushi restaurants in the San Diego area, with a better view. I have paid less than $550 for a party of three, including the tip, for similar-quality dinners.

I don’t dog on places ever because I know that it’s hard to make it in restaurant biz these days - but me and my daughter were traveling and we LOVE sushi and her only request for dinner that night was sushi. We were staying within 10 min walk, so I was in. My daughter is 13, we were dressed cute-casual but not sloppy. Upon entering the hostesses were awkward and giggled while showing us to the table - it was just uncomfortable and weird but I chocked it up to maybe a hostess in training. We were recommended the number of dishes to order and we followed recommendations mixed with google search findings and yelp reviews. Our food came out all at once to our tiny table - while I watched others receive their food one dish at a time - then we were ignored for 20 minutes with plates upon plates of food emptying in front of us. I am a big fan of over tipping but I did give feedback that it was really frustrating that our whole order was just dumped on us while I watched others receive one plate at a time along with explanations, and that that was why I reduced the tip. Just be aware that there is clearly some preconceived notions at play about customers as you walk in the door and I’m not sure if it was that we didn’t show as flashy rich enough or that my daughter was in tow, but I got the feeling that played a part. Just left feeling super disappointed with the $200+ meal dumped on our table like I was at McDonald’s
