No way. The sushi was very very average. Very average.
Nobu in Malibu is 100 times sexier
We forgot how good Nobu can be. We really enjoyed our dinner and our waiter was great. The Toro and Unagi were fresh and we loved the Crab Tacos. Thanks for the recommendation!
Excellent attentive service and delicious food.
My fiancé and I just got engaged and celebrated here at Nobu. It was our first time and they did not disappoint. The food was delicious and service was excellent. They were helpful and cheerful for us in our celebration. We are definitely going back.
Nobu can be on the pricey side but the food and experience is always amazing.
Everything was first rate. We had mainly sashimi and all was fresh and delicious. Keep in mind prices are per piece, not for the conventional order that contains two pieces, which add up to just a couple dollars more than what you probably pay at your less upscale neighborhood place. Even the more affordable entries on the sake selection are excellent.
Not a flagship item, but the chocolate creme brûlée with the coffee foam is an amazing dessert.
Always an amazing experience . Great service and fabulous food!!!
Valentine’s dining can be challenging, we are two years into the Omakase at Nobu with many more dancing the horizon.
My wife (who is vegan) and I dined here on Valentine’s Day. The service, food, and presentation did not disappoint. Despite arriving late (our fault), the staff was very accommodating and did not feel rushed. I opted for the Valentine’s omakase which was amazing. The chef offered to create a vegan omakase to match each dish I ordered...which my wife absolutely loved.
We have dined at various Nobu restaurants around the world and the San Diego location has been stellar.
Food was amazing but the service was ridiculously poor. Not what the experience should have anywhere let alone when you pay nearly $1000 for 8 people
First time enjoying a meal at a Nobu restaurant. The food and service were really extraordinary. Our server Brian was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, from recommendations on both food and sake.
Great food and probably some of the best sushi I’ve had outside of Japan. Our waiter was great for the most part but we had to ask for certain things multiple times which was frustrating at this price point.
Food is very expensive and the portions are extremely small. We spent over 300 dollars and stopped for tacos on the way home.
If you’re willing to spend 500-600 for a date this is a great spot... if you aren’t I’d recommend stopping here for an appetizer and getting dinner somewhere else.
The sushi rolls were way too small for the price!! The appetizers and waiter were fantastic though.
Every year when I come to San Diego, me and my team dine at Nobu. The food is delicious and the service is superb.
This place should’t have the name Nobu!
I ve been in another locations but It was the worst experience!
3 differents servers, missing food - I left without eat what I ve ordered!
Overpriced sushi, you’re paying for the trendy experience.
The side of brussel sprouts didn’t taste that good. And not crispy. I have had a lot better at other restaurants. However, our other food, especially the scallops with brussel sprouts was very good. It was VERY loud. Bad acoustics in the space.
Food / waiter was excellent
Zoals gewoonlijk zeer goed eten maar niet gezellig
Outstanding service. Foid was outstanding albeit expensive. Will go again
Wow! Amazing menu for restaurant week .
Amazing as always. We always go to Nobu for Restaurant week
Food was out of this world. Service amazing. Cocktails great. Price was over the top expensive. Tables WAY too close together and very loud. No privacy at all.
Great food and service
Great premium tasting menu and wines by the glass. Restaurant is crowded and noisy.
We had a great evening out for my wife's birthday. Service was impeccable and the food was great. Really enjoyed the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant. It's all it is made out to be. Great night out.
We first visited Nobu in New York in 2008 and were blown away. Since then we’ve been to Nobu in Cape Town, which didn’t quite live up to our initial experience - and now Nobu San Diego. Beautiful restaurant and delicious, don’t get me wrong, but we were completely underwhelmed. It’s not as special as it could be - Nobu now seems like a pretty good overpriced Japanese restaurant.
Love this place good food and good service
Amazing experience, great service and excellent food!
We’re big sushi lovers, and we in general we’re not impressed with the quality/quantity and overall value...choices are minimal. The cuts of the rolls and sashimi of an entire dish is equivalent to a single piece/cut from any other sushi spot. It’s literally laughable or perhaps cry-able what they serve and the prices. If you squinted you’re eyes you wouldn’t be able to find the food it’s so minuscule. The restaurant feels like a hotel restaurant, not real invested in clientele because they figure they’re from out of town and won’t become a regular. It was a waste of a special birthday dinner, NOBU never again.
A true dining experience!! Pricy, so definitely a special occasion restaurant. The yellowtail jalapeño shared plate is a must have!
We ordered the omakase, Nobu's tasting menu, with half or our party ordering the signature omakase and the other half of us ordering the San Diego omakase. All of them were absolutely delicious; however, the wagyu beef was to die for! And the sake and the desserts were fantastic! All elements were delivered in a well-paced fashion and the portion sizes were perfect for a tasting menu. I cannot wait to get back to San Diego to enjoy this incredible dining experience again!
Outstanding overall. Quality food tied to exceptional service. The staff work so hard, likely motivated by the Nobu philosophy of sharing tips.
Good food and service but minuscule portions and VERY high prices.
