It was my first time trying Nobu and I was absolutely amazed. Every single meal was so delicious!! I’m extremely picky about sushi and raw fish. All the fish was so fresh and melted in your mouth!

Our area was loud, restaurant wasn’t busy and was not asked of a choice to be seated or if the table was to our liking. We would have preferred to be away from the kitchen area, away from the noises. Also the atmosphere is very dark.

The food was late to come out for a day that seemed not their busiest. There were still a few tables open. The server did not communicate to us on when the food was going to arrive. Overall, for the price point, i felt that it did not rise to the level. I will most not likely come back.

Extremely overpriced! Do not ask the waitress for her opinion on food as she will recommend and then pick the most expensive menu items. Watch out for add ons . They definitely have the market for tourists and take advantage of them. Service was poor . Food was food but I'm sure you could find a place of the beaten path that was better and not a rip off.

Food was outstanding but the service was extremely poorly organized. We ordered the omikase (chef’s special) menu and several wine pairings. All started out well, then two very loud boisterous parties were seated near us, and the waitress turned her entire attention to those parties. Suddenly we were waiting a half hour between courses. Waitress actually came to our table while we were waiting for our last three dishes to tell us that the kitchen was closing soon, and did we want to add anything to our order? We were furious! The meal took 2.5 hours to be served! And we had to demand our check so that we could leave at the end. Excellent food, but overall unhappy with the evening.

The food is always consistently amazing, here. I would recommend the hot and cold dishes, the "snacks", and the specials rather than traditional sushi rolls or ngiri, as that stuff is pretty run of the mill. But their main menu is full of creative and tasty dishes.

Everything we had was delicious. The only thing I would change would be to make the rolls 8 pieces. Each piece is the perfect size for me, but at only 6 pieces it’s not much overall.

Came here for our anniversary. Too much to choose from so we got The Omakase (tasting menu) which was 8 courses and absolutely delicious and the best way to experience Nobu! Every single dish was prepared beautifully explained perfectly by the very knowledgeable and attentive staff!

Valley service was backed-up and made us late. The hostess was very rude in checking us in. Service is mediocre. There us nothing new and exciting in the menu. Finally, we were asked to leave because “our time had rub out” which I understand because all restaurants do this now but they were very rude about it. We will not return. Also, there is now dress code enforced. Nobu is starting to feel like Benihana!

The lighting was just right, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that made me feel right at home. And let's not forget about the food. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. From the succulent sushi rolls to the perfectly prepared miso cod, every bite was a culinary masterpiece. It was clear that only the finest and freshest ingredients were used, resulting in dishes that were both visually stunning and delicious. Overall, I cannot recommend Nobu highly enough. We had a delicious dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. Every dish was perfection. You can't go wrong at Nobu and San Diego is always consistently great. The food and service are amazing! Some of our favorite dishes are: Yellowtail with jalapeno, new style sashimi, sashimi with dry miso, sashimi with artichoke, rock shrimp tempura, black cod with miso to name a few.

Nobu has great food. On Saturday at 5:30 pm they packed everyone in and the waitress was trying to get us out before we sat down. She hadn’t given us a menu and asked about drink orders. She was impatient telling us about the menu. She reminded us several times about the kitchen window and getting orders in. The music was loud and the people louder.

Observation: portion size is small and does not come with sides. If you are a meat and potato man, don’t expect to fill up with one dish. You actually have to order several meals because their portion size is small. For myself, it was the right size, but for my husband he was still hungry. Beware men…have a nice size lunch because you may leave hungry due to the portion size unless you fill up on cocktails and sushi. Value: it is pricey for the portion served. On the flip side, the taste of the food was delicious with the exception of the white rice, which was gummy and wet.
