We come here often and always great food and great service.
Great product. Great flavors.
Fresh sushi, great wine selection. Nice ambiance!
Phenomenal 40th birthday dinner!!!!
The food was divine. The green tea tiramisu was off the charts! Loved it!!! Service was phenomenal. Atmosphere was fun and vibrant. Definitely worth a trip.
One of the best dining experiences ever. The food was beautiful, fresh and delicious. Every dish was a work of art.
It was cool, food was really delicious friendly staff, one of the dishes not so great and easily swapped out for something else.
Overall it was good, I expected more sophistication, I would go back now that I know what to expect.
Excellent service and ambiance. Sushi was excellent.
It was fresh, delicious and sweet, and we had a lovely evening. Best uni and wagyu beef I've ever had.
Our waiter guided through the various options for shared plates and everything was amazing. Innovative, great combinations of flavors, textures and beautiful presentation.
Now we look forward to trying the other Nobu locations!
Great, but very expensive.
A great Nobu add in the San Diego experience .
We had a weird experience where the waiter tried to up-sell us on cocktails and wine...have never experienced this amateur process at Nobu...
Great food as always!
Michael was amazing as he created an “experience for us”. We told him what we liked and didn’t like and he was spot on. Instead of ordering our “usual” rolls he broadened our palettes and created a fun learning experience for us! We loved everything about our meal and time with Michael! Can’t wait to come back.
It was my daughter’s 15th birthday. Food was much better than other Nobus we have tried.
Our daughter. She had an awesome time. Best sushi ever she said.
We have tried Nobu all over the world and I can easily say this was the worst. Food was good but did not impress at all. Service was low and we needed to chase the waiter just to get lemons. We also had 5 waiters for us and each one asked the same question than the other one regarding our order. We took the 10:00 pm reservation and by 10:30 they seemed in a hurry to clean up the place and have us gone. It was loud. Drinks were good. Not going back.
Very loud with baby crying and tables to close to each other. Lightning I thought would be darker. Steak undercooked. Had to ask for silverware when steak came. They asked us every 2 minutes if we were done, trying to get us to leave. Food was good other than initial undercook
The Fish and Chips Nobu style were amazing. A simple dish with many tasty (not typical) condiments.
Good and service, as usual...always stellar. Cheers to Nobu, San Diego.
The lounge area was very comfortable and quiet. Our server was awesome and gave us excellent recommendations (I wish I remembered her name), but we were there Tuesday night 5/29/18 at 8:45 in the lounge. 5 stars to her and the food!
Great location inside the Hard Rock Hotel very close to PetCo Park, the Convention Center, and of course the Gaslamp Quater. Exceptional service with a wide selection of fantastic dishes that are just not available at other restaurants. NoBu is exceptional and always remarkable every time we visit for dinner.
Food was amazing and service was amazing! Really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor!
This did not disappoint! The cocktails were creative and refreshing, and the food out of this world. Sharing was definitely the way to go for many items and allowed for lots of tastings. Sushi was delicious but the hot and cold meals stole the show!
I was very excited to have a chance to dine at a Nobu. I have long admired the chef and couldn’t believe we got a reservation. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. From the moment we arrived we did not feel the staff was invested in our experience. We felt rushed, not welcomed. The waiter seemed to not listen and spent most of his time trying to up sell us or judging our choices. The back waiter/ busser asked us if we were finished with dishes and removed them immediately even when we said we were not finished. At first we thought they hadn’t heard us correctly but it happened 3 times... even though by the 3rd time we were adamant. The dishes were ok/ not spectacular and we didn’t even have a chance to finish the ones we enjoyed. I felt awful that my friend trusted my choice, spent a lot of money and walked away very disappointed. We only had the one night in San Diego and we felt we wasted it. The Miso black cod has long been a Nobu dish I love. Was so looking forward to having the real thing , even though it was the best of the dishes it was dry and we weren’t allowed to finish it.
We ordered the tasting menu of $150 but when we came home after the dinner we both got the stomachache
This place is amazing. They are incredibly vegetarian and vegan friendly and always go above and beyond.
Great place! Food was fantastic, service exquisite
The food is very good, but the prices are HIGH. I don’t think they’d stay in business without the expense account crowd.
Amazing food and ambiance. Great experience and had fun
Service was great but super expensive. Was okay with the price but a $35 dollar cod entree has no veggies or side.
One of the best experiences i ever had , excellant food , great service !
4 of us dining. We each ordered one drink and one small (very small) meal. No appetizers except one miso soup and one edemami. Each one drink. No dessert. Bill? Over $250!!! The sushi menu says “Tuna $7” “minimum 2 pieces” so we figured ok a $7 order of tuna is two pieces like other sushi places. But no, it’s $14 an order. Why don’t they just list it that way? Very misleading. We also waited 45 minutes for our table at a bar crowded by bachelorette parties. And we all left hungry. Service was good, don’t want to dis the waiter - he was friendly and attentive.
The food was fresh and delicious. Our server Andrea was very attentive and made up for a course that took longer than expected with free drinks. It was well worth the wait. We would recommend this place to Sushi lovers.
Great food but over priced. Works quite well as a business meeting destination.
Off-the-charts delicious sushi and sashimi, excellent service with lots of great plate suggestions, and nice wine. Definitely a memorable spot to go every time we come to San Diego.
Was surprised at how poor the overall experience was. First off, it was completely overpriced......definitely not worth what I paid (almost $400). The service was sub par......slow......forgetting things.....constantly having to ask for drinks, water, etc etc. The food was good for sure, but nowhere near worth what they charged.
Also......who in their right mind wants to go to a restaurant that one of the owners has politicized. The American public has to deal with this kind of insanity too much as it is....We just want to relax without some idiot like di niro running his mouth.
So, I will definitely tell everyone I know that it's overly priced. I'll also tell my friends (high earners....mostly conservative and responsible adults......who can afford expensive restaurants, not to go because of the ownership's stance on Conservatives. Most are already disgusted to hear another low IQ hollywood actor making the comments he has. I feel bad for the Chef/Owner that has to deal with this kind of stupidity from his co owner.
