Unbelieveable. Simple as that and I can’t wait to go back.
We started with bacon smoked scallops which we added an extra serving to make it shareable. Tasty but extremely small portion even with the added serving.
The halibut was excellent and cooked perfectly, same for the chicken. A little pricey but not bad value
The only downside was our waitress. She never introduced herself and while efficient, the best word to describe her would be “sour”.
Had a lovely evening ; the food was very good; the service attentive without being overbearing....
We have been to Nineteen at least 6-8 times and have always enjoyed the experience; however on the last occasion the short ribs were not good at all--dry, overcooked, unpalatable. Noise level was high even though it was not completely full. Wine list is very good; sad to see the Tuesday wine specials disappear.
The crab cakes are always great; also the lobster ravioli though it is a fairly small dish. Desserts are always interesting and very good.
Was a wonderful time we had a Mom & Daughter catch up time, everything was great.... wait for it...“except”.... we had a reservation yet we got seated at the one most high traffic point table right next to a side table full of people facing us so that was rather uncomfortable to hear every word they said PARTICULARILY WHEN THE RESTAURANT WAS NEARLY EMPTY THE ENTIRE TIME! Any other table would have been better ! Disappointed especially when we had a reservation !
Food was exceptional!!
First time and it was wonderful. Food was great and the service was awesome.
Great food, great service! Amazing every time I go!
Outstanding staff, food, decore. We love taking 'out-of-towners' to nineteen.
The appetizers were better than the entree. The portions were generous. The staff was excellent.
A extremely, most pleasant night out for my mother’s birthday!!! Right from the parking, to the host, the surroundings, amazing food selections and the best was our server Nicholas a five star rating for this individual.
Not only was the service fantastic and knowing the food so well to bring so personal and professional with an added sense of humour!!!!!
Both of us would definitely recommend this restaurant and be back over and over. By far now I must say my favourite.
Lovely restaurant, awesome food, great place in St. Albert.
We all had a good visit, our first time excellent experience in X1X restaurant.
All is good.
Dinner was great. All three of us loved our meals - I had beautifully cooked mussels in a gorgonzola sauce with a side salad. Delicious.
First time diner. We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary in part because we had a $75.00 gift certificate and also because we had heard and read glowing reviews of the service and food. We were not disappointed.
Arriving at the restaurant we were greeted with a “Happy Anniversary” wish and we were immediately seated in possibly the best seat in the dining room – a cozy booth at the front of the restaurant which provided terrific ambience for the occasion.
Our waiter Nicholas was very attentive but yet unobtrusive through our dining experience. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and we both took his recommendation to savour the special of the day, Halibut. While somewhat bias as fish lovers we could not have been more pleased – the fish was fresh, delicious and cooked to our requested doneness – medium. The accompanying pasta where the halibut so proudly rested was delicious as well and fully complimented the dish and thankfully was not overly salty which is the case so often in restaurant fare.
We shared the Dungeness Crab Cake appetizer with an extra cake added to allow us two each. They were chock full of crab and delicious.
We didn’t save any room for desert due to the appetizer/meal size (other reviews highlight small plates – this certainly was not our experience). However, Nicholas brought out a small plate of raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and a “Happy Anniversary” chocolate wafer topped off with a sparkler, a glowing finish to our meal.
They offer an extensive list of wines albeit some are a little pricing IMO. However, there was a good range to choose from to ensure that every budget can enjoy wine with their meals.
Entrée and in particular appetizer pricing is on the high side but at the end of the day I thought the quality deserved the higher pricing. Quite frankly I can not opine on the desert pricing due to not even looking at the menu upon finishing our meal – too full!
Rated a 5+
I look forward to dining at my local XIX and do enjoy my favourites but think the mushroom soup would be just as delicious with less salt, please. Service and menu always very good.
This was a very nice restaurant with great servers and staff. Everything from the atmosphere and the meal were superb.
What can you say everything is fresh and tasty. Try the ginger beef and halibut. Absolutely delicious. This the best place to dine in St Albert. Molly and the gang do an amazing job running this St Albert he.
Small portions. Food was good but nothing special, not worth the price they charge. It was difficult having conversation as we couldn’t hear each other over the music and the tables being so deep set. However, the overall service was good. Wasn’t impressed with the food or the restaurant really, wouldn’t go back. Wouldn’t recommend it.
Excellent food. The Lobster Poutine was a little too rich for me to finish though and my husband had trouble finishing his Lamb shanks so definitely big meals! Be sure to get the beef appetizer as it was so tender and flavorful. Wonderful waitress who took the time to talk to us about our selections and was always prompt with service. Nice little upscale restaurant in St Albert.
The food was terrific, but even better was the ambiance and the service. From the moment we walked in we were treated exceptionally well. The host even asked if we were there for a special occasion. When I said it was my friend's birthday he made a point of wishing her a happy birthday. Our waiter, Nelson, was polite, friendly, efficient; he was there exactly when we needed him, but didn't hover. It was a lovely experience.
Two of us arrived a few minutes early so our table was not ready and the bar was full. After a short walk we returned to fine our other guests seated. Friday night in St. Albert requires a reservation! Excellent presentation, food and value.
Great restaurant. Food is always wonderful and the service is first class. We really enjoy Christen. She is is a pro.
We like to come here on a special event as it's not a place I could afford often. But the food is excellent and I look forward to trying something new each time I come here. I like the atmosphere. It's just the right size and you almost feel like you're walking in to someone's house. Good Job Nineteen XIX !
This is by far the yummiest place to eat!!! 2 thumbs up!!!
Great! Good food
Service was excellent, food was spectacular, pricey but worth it
The food was excellent, although a bit pricy for what it was. Our server was awesome and somehow always knew when we needed him. Noise level was a tad loud. The only complaint I have is the table was so long, it was hard to hear my partner.
It was excellent
Great experience. Love the food, service, decor. Only down side was tables for 2 are uncomfortably close together. No privacy. Was closer to the neighbour than my date.
My boyfriend and I came here for a date and it was a great experience. The hostess was very accommodating when we walked in as well as our waiter Nick who went above and beyond. He came to check up on us at just the right time rather than most places coming mid bite. Overall the setting was lovely and we will definitely be coming back.
Found the prices to be a bit high for the amount of food on the plate. It cost $360.00 for four of us including tip to eat and I had one glass of wine and another person had one beer. We had shared appetizers, four meals and four desserts. I could buy groceries for myself for a month on those prices.
Our server was fantastic and the chef's did a tasty job so I am sure this is not there fault on the prices so I did not want to stiff them on a tip.
Enjoyed our dinner. Service was impeccable. Food beautifully presented and delicious. Nice touch was having the wine decanted. Ambience was lovely, music was nicely in the background so conversation was easy.
Great for special occasions.
Molly and the crew do an amazing job on every visit. The food is fresh and perfectly spiced. There is no comparison with any other restaurant in St. ALBERT.
Nice setting, very attentive staff. Answered menu questions and made recommendations about menu items as well as wine pairings with your food! Both visits were amazing. Use a wheelchair and it is completely flat entry and W/C accessible washrooms.
We had a great time at Nineteen. Staff was courteous and attentive, yet left us alone just enough to keep it intimate and romantic.
The place looks great and the food was fantastic, with enough creativity and flavour to keep you wanting to go through the entire menu.
Unlike other fancy restaurants, the portions are very generous and you will probably find yourself unable to go for deserts like we did!
Will definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Brought a couple of friends with me for lunch at Nineteen. Clean place friendly and attentive staff. Food was fantastic. A great place for a lunch and catching up with old friends.
My wife and mother ate there today and found the food only ok for the price. Service was again only ok for the price your paying and with no one there at the time the server could be a bit more attentive.
