Nikai Sushi and Game is a Japanese restaurant specializing primarily in sushi, sashimi and nigiri plates. The interior of the restaurant echoes the best parts of Japanese restaurants. The walls are a pale wood color reminiscent of bamboo and rows of backlit sake bottles line the top of the wall as decor. As in most traditional sushi restaurants, there is only one place to sit, and that is around Nikai's sushi bar, which wraps all the way around the kitchen in a square.

Nikai's menu is split into sections featuring nigiri, sashimi and sushi rolls. The nigiri and sashimi function mainly as appetizers, although you can order a sampler for your meal if you'd like. The sushi rolls are further broken down into "six dollar rolls," which are simple, classic rolls like red snapper, albacore, tuna and salmon while the section includes signature rolls like the truffled tuna, which are much more unique and elaborate

We had the most wonderful time at this restaurant! The service was outstanding. And oh my God! Our server was by far and away the cutest girl we had ever seen. She made sure our experience would be a night to remember. Betsy made our night! The sushi was amazing! To think that such fresh fish could be had so far from the ocean is beyond belief! The head sushi chef, Cooper, made us the most delectable sushi we've ever had! If you've never had the chance to dine at Nikai, you'll never know what you missed. An outstanding restaurant with a brilliant staff that has only three things to offer; great food, great service and great ambiance. Long Live Nikai!

We had great dinner at Nikai last weekend. Food was excellent, both the sushi and the entrees, as were the drinks. The prices were very reasonable for Jackson.

Truly great sushi. The rest of the menu is "Contemporary American," so don't be disappointed if you don't see Asian entrees. But it was an outstanding meal for less than $125 - 3 cocktails, bottle of Bordeaux, bonsai roll, halibut, elk chop - so impressed. Everything was superb.

Our dining experience was less than optimal. Our waiter forgot one of our hot appetizers, so when it arrived at our table it was cold. Our party ordered both Sushi and Cooked food for our main course. The Sushi showed up with our appetizer instead of with our main course so two of our party had their main course way before the other three. When we asked about it we were told that Sushi is served when it is ready; so instead of coordinating our meal so that we could all eat together it was served in a haphazard manner. The food itself was nothing special.

Nikai Sushi & Game is a hidden Kem for sure. Lots of unique items to choose from the grill, and still the best sushi in Jackson. Definitely give it a try. You'll be glad you did.

Don't go. They changed management. It was terrible. This used to be one of our favorite places. Here's all I have to say: $13 for a California Roll. They're desperate. It's terrible. It won't be there for very long. Drinks were overpriced and small. Waiter was a nice guy, and even he felt bad about how the restaurant changed.

The service and atmosphere was good. However, the sushi was not that of a traditional Japanese restaurant - if you know your sushi then this is not the place for you. Note that this place is not family friendly - if you have a stroller or kids needing a booster or high chair, look somewhere else. There are steps leading to the second floor and no high chairs at all.
