30 min wait even
Made a reservation for 8:30 and had to wait over an hour before we were seated. We were told they were running 10 minutes late so we waited and waited. Ridiculous.
Good food and good service by our waiter, but we were seated over an hour late to our reservation. The restaurant was over booked and overly crowded environment with many people waiting.
We had a reservation for 6:30, got there in time to valet park the car and were told to go back to Strega to valet park the car (Have you ever done a U-turn in Boston's crowded North End? I had to). Then the hostess told us that they were running 15 minutes behind. We were told to go to the bar next door and wait there. At 7:10 (40 minutes later) I called to inquire about our reservation and was told "It'd be 15 more minutes." At 7:50 (again, 40 minutes later) I was told, once more "it'll be 15 minutes." At 8:20 I had no choice but to confront the hostess. We were finally seated after almost a 2-hour wait. The food was ASTOUNDING. The wait staff was overwhelmed but did their best to be friendly and our food was cooked and brought to our table quickly. Sadly, the ultra long wait without a reasonable explanation and the valet parking snafu would preclude me from recommending this place, despite the out of this world food.
Great food overbooked .. waited a hour with reservations
Great meal. Waiter was wonderful. Some of the best in the North End.
It was good except we had to wait for 45 mins after our reservation time to get a table and ended up sitting so close to another couple we were basically at a table for 4. My boyfriend got the Fusilli with shrimp and for $29 they didn’t even take the tails off the shrimp. Food was great otherwise, would go back
Had an 8:15 reservation and waited until 8:45 ended up leaving for another place nearby
Love it here!
It was great, the table next to us was very loud but the server was amazing and kept apologizing, we understood it was out of their control. The hostess was slightly rude when we got there is the only complaint.
We were quickly seated at Nico. Service was great and the food was amazing. The price is reasonable for the value/quality of the meal. I would recommend to others checking out great Italian in the North End!
We started with the grilled pear salad and spinach rollatini which were brought together so the rolatini was cold after the salad was eaten. However, both were very good. The prime sirloin with red wine reduction was literally smothered under a sauce that was more akin to a bland gravy than any reduction I've ever seen. The accompanying vegetables were pedestrian. A poor end after a promising start.
They are consistently fantastic.
I surprised my wife with dinner here and everything exceeded our expectations.
Excellent food and service. Table was in lower floor and next to kitchen only separated by a curtain. Did not love this table location - my only complaint. The food and service made up for this and I will go back!
This is a great staple place in the North End. I have eaten here several times and am always pleased.
Rosato was awesome! Food was amazing as always.
The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the chicken Marsala and chicken parm, portions were large for the price and very, very good. We ordered the antipasto board, which came out on a plain small dinner plate, so the presentation was a bit disappointing. Unfortunately we were seated next to the bathroom in the basement when there were other tables available and we had made a reservation, so the ambiance was not ideal. Overall, a great culinary experience. Next time, would recommend asking to be seated upstairs.
My boyfriend and I are typically picky with what italian place we should go to because most places taste the same and some are more pricy than others in the North End. We have never tried this out and we did not see the best reviews online but, once we received our food it was amazing! The tables are very close together and it gets pretty loud in there as well. If you are looking for a quiet place to go to and not get disturbed by other people this probably is not the best place to go to.
First time ever going to Nico and it will not be my last. I always get nervous that NYE means that the restaurants aren't bringing their A game. Nico sure did. Server was great and attentive even though we were probably his loudest/obnoxious table. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. Calamari, meatball, arancini, eggplant, chicken parm.. you name it and they nailed it.
Wanted to give it 5 stars, but made a reservation for 6:30 and didn't get seated until 7. Otherwise, place is very intimate with tables close together. Was perfect for a date. Food is AMAZING. I got the mushroom truffle ravioli and my boyfriend got the special, lobster risoto. We split the shrimp bruchetta. All were so so good. Would love to go back! Just have to make a reservation planning on not getting seated right away.
Seafood Ciopino special was great!
Great dining experience. I had
Great service and food. Nice table in front- really enjoyed our evening
One of our all time favorites in the North End! Great food, and service. Gnocchi and Meatballs are the best!!!
It's coo lots of fun for Christmas dinnah.
We loved Nico. The food was delicious but, really, it was the service that was outstanding.
With all the great restaurants in the North End, this is our favorite.
The food was amazing as well as the service. Looking forward to dinning there again!
We had a reservation but waited 45 minutes past the reservation time to be seated, even though the restaurant told us it would only be a few minutes when we checked in. No apology or explanation was given. Silver lining: food and server were great.
We had a res
We came to Nico for an early-ish dinner before a show at the Garden and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was excellent and prompt. Next time we would share a dish since the portions were very filling, but it was just as yummy the next day for lunch!
Food was excellent! Homemade pasta was delicious. Will definitely be returning soon!
The food was excellent (especially the mushroom ravioli in a truffle sauce), the service was great, and the location was perfect. I took some out-of-town co-workers there for a Holiday dinner and everyone loved it!
Food was amazing. Very authentic, servers speak italian! My only complaint was that I had an 8:15 reservation and didn’t get sat until 30 minutes after that.
We have visited Nico in multiple occasions. It is always busy and vibrant, and the food is amazing!
Food was outstanding. Every person left with a clean plate. Fresh pasta was amazing and the burrata appetizer was to die for.
We were placed downstairs at bottom of stairs next to bathroom and table staging area. Always too loud there and running up and down stairs if staff was disruptive. Besides that, food was excellent and the staff was too.
Loved eating at Nico- the beet salad is phenomenal and the calamari was so fresh and delicious.
With that said, we were disappointed with the lack of celebration per se. We made our reservation and informed them we would be celebrating a birthday. The host checked us in and wish a happy birthday, the server did as well as we were seated, then they never brought any cake or dessert for our table to celebrate yet served the table next to us a free birthday dessert...would've loved to have had a little something as well.
