Delicious homemade pasta.
If you enjoy better Italian food, then by all means try Nicos.
A very good find on OPEN TABLE as we are just passing through Boston. I had an awesome seafood pasta special with a butterfly lobster, scallops, clams, mussels and calamari. My Wife had the roasted chicken and she said it was very good as well. Awesome server, recommended the special and I'm glad I took him up on it. The hostess was a bit rigid when we checked in but overall Nico Ristorante is a great Italian choice on the north end of Boston. We would definitely dine there again in the future.
We had a surprise father’s day celebration. The food was phenomenal as always, but the waitstaff went above and beyond to make it so amazing. No where else will you find staff such as this. Everything arrived on time. They didn’t hover, but were immediately available for any request. And dessert was brought out for all to enjoy courtesy of our waiter.Simply amazing! Can’t wait to return.
Love this place. Great service and some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had!!
Basement seating is terrible for level of restaurant
Delicious lemon garlic "scampi" shrimp bruschetta ..! Veal chop, cioppino, super Tuscan red & profiteroles
Great Food Excellent Staff and Service Would highly recommend!
My big complaint about Nico's. We had a 5:30 pm Friday reservation made a few months ago for dinner before Paul Simon concert. We arrived just about 5:30 and ended up seated downstairs in the basement rather than the main floor open to the street - that was bad enough. "My bad" I guess that I didn't request "best seating" or whatever - hadn't been there before. But, what added insult to injury was the hostess sat another couple right next to us even though no one else was downstairs! It was at least another 15 - 30 minutes before another couple came in and were seated further away. We would have appreciated more time to enjoy our dark little corner to ourselves before having such close company. Otherwise, the dinner and service were very good and a good value.
Wonderful! Every dish was spectacular. Zagat rating is spot on.
Authentic neighborhood atmosphere and outstanding food. Fairly priced. Attentive service but never overwhelming (6 different people didn't come by and ask how our meal was)
Great meal- beautiful weather table by windows open to enjoy the weather. We had arancini appetizer (3 so enough for everyone to sample)-excellent, veal saltambuca, chicken palm with homemade fusilli and shrimp fra diavalo (special request) all superb!
This was our first visit to Boston and Nico's was recommended to us , and it certainly didn't disappoint, I had meatball to start , delicious, then one of the day's specials , Seafood stew , without a doubt the seafood stew was the best meal of my holiday , and probably the best seafood dish I've ever had , with fresh scallops , prawns , calamari and best of all half a lobster , WOW it was the best dish .
Great evening , great atmosphere lovely friendly staff , and excellent value for money .
Our first time at Nico, service was great. It is cozy and everyone so pleasant. The food was excellent. We will definitely go back. Only one drawback, one bathroom. Put on your list for Northend dining.
W had a reservation and we were seated fairly quickly. It is a small restaurant so it can get pretty loud. The waiters were very attentive and knowledgeable.
The food was ok. My husband had the veal saltimboca, it was a little tough and the sauce was kind of gloppy.
My pasta with little necks was good, not fantastic but good.
Amazing Italian food! Carbonara, ravioli’s, seafood, everything was excellent. Great wine selection and service too. Great experience all together :)
James, our server, was absolutely amazing. Wonderful experience.
Best roasted chicken we’ve ever had!!
In a sea of restaurants in the North End of Boston, Nico is a stand-out. Hakeem was hands down the best sever in any restaurant we’ve ever had - super knowledgeable and accommodating but not at all pushy. The food was amazing. These two foodies agree it’s one of the top five dining experiences in our lives to date. Recommend reservations. Downstairs is pretty dark, but we had a great table upstairs. We will return next time we are in town.
No problem arriving earlier than reserved time. Hostess greeting guests was very friendly and gracious. Great menu choices and daily special described by our waiter Hakim made the dinner choice very easy. Outstanding staff all around. Not our first visit, and can not wait to go back.
Great food and service! I wish we had restaurants like Nicos where I live.
Those of us who live in the Boston area know that there are many excellent restaurants in the North End. Our recent visit to Nico's was our third and definitely won't be our last. The food, while a little pricey, is worth every penny. Ingredients are fresh and creative. If you want to order standard Italian dishes, you can and they are a step up in quality. If you want some of their more creative dishes, you will not be disappointed. All the pasta is home made, and the red sauce is terrific. Our waiter was efficient, friendly, funny and professional. Upstairs is a little crowded and a little noisy, but you do get a great view onto Hanover St. If your are on a date, ask for a table downstairs, which is more intimate and a little quieter.
Perfect place for an early business dinner. Our guest from TN was pleased and impressed.
Wonderful experience! The service was exemplary. All staff was pleasant, knowledgeable & fun. The food was fabulous! Just an all round wonderful experience.
Thank you, Nico Restaurant!
We spent the weekend in Boston to celebrate my birthday and chose Nico for my actual birthday dinner. It was absolutely delicious. Our only complaint was that we couldn't finish it all. If we weren't staying at a hotel we would have taken the rest home. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. I couldn't ask for a better place for my birthday meal.
Delicious!! I had the porcini mushroom raviolis, which were amazing. Everything my party got was delish!
Fun and tasty dinner! We had a great experience dining here last! Louciano our server was Very fun and made great recommendations! I would definitely come back if I am in Boston again! Thanks for a fun evening! And the BFD across the street was very entertaining also! Love the North End!
We went on a slow night. Tuesday after Memorial Day. Plus, nothing at the Boston Garden. The service was outstanding. The swordfish special I had was phenomenal! Atmosphere was very nice. The only downside is that it happens to be across the street from the fire department. In the two hours we were there, the big engine went out and back two or three times. A minor distraction. Kudos to all the staff.
Best meal ever.
Im just gonna make emphasis on the food. Everything we tried in the menu was delicious!
Made a reservation for 830, wasnt seated until almost 940. Staff was exceptional and food was really good. Just plan ahead and know that your reservation probably wont get you seated right away.
Fantastic cioppino. Large portion for the price. Highly recommend.
Love the food always superb service. Very knowledgable about the menu .
Great night out with fantastic food.
My new favorite restaurant in the North End. All of our food was well prepared, service was excellent and the window seat opened on a warm day made for great ambience
The waiter didn’t ask if we want dessert. So we didn’t get dessert. But we would have . The lobster ravioli was fabulous!
We would go back.
Great meal. Excellent waiter!
The best… Always the best!!
Table booked for 7.30. They appear to have an overbooking policy so wasn’t seated until 8.30, which was a little annoying but the food and service thereafter was excellent.
