   Major disappointment I was reminded of Nick & Sam’s while watching a special on the chef on YouTube. I was excited to book to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday and my 22nd anniversary. Unfortunately, there was nothing amazing about our experience. My evening was disappointing due to your lack of focus on delivering a personalized experience to your customers. I had to remind our server about our anniversary and considering we had a bill over $500, I would have expected some celebratory offering or acknowledgement. Next, there were four of us and while we sat at a table for four, there was limited space for our beverages, appetizers and food. It was quite condensed and did not demonstrate a relaxing environment. Additionally, I was quite shocked at the mediocrity of the food. It lacked flavor and the presentation was equivalent to a chain. In fact, when my fried lobster was brought to the table, a piece was knocked off the plate and wasn’t attempted to be neatly placed back by the server. No one at our table enjoyed the food and that was more disappointing than the experience itself. My son ordered a rack of lamb to only be brought two lamb shanks. And if the above wasn’t enough of a sub par experience, the valet mistakenly brought our car to another guest, then parked it in a new location and was unable to match the car with the key, resulting in a wait of more than 15 minutes. I conclude this note in saying that Nick & Sam’s have successfully continued to ride the wave of the most pretentious in Dallas and possibly the experience of the past.    I paid for the table's dinner. Over $1,000.00 my Tomahawk steak came out dry and cold. The butter you put on it wouldn't even melt. waiter drop a drink on my client. I had to get some one to clear the dishes I couldn't find our waiter. I expect that anywhere else but my favorite restaurant at $250.00 per person I paid for. Mary Kay Winchell

   We celebrated Mothers Day and a Birthday with you. All agreed that the food and service (Austin) was impeccable. Our first time, it won’t be our last. We are from Alabama and son lives in Dallas just a few blocks away. We always stay at the Marriott and will be back on our next visit. Thanks again!

   The crab cake and cobb salad were amazing, and the prime-aged New York steak was excellent, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The lobster mac and cheese and spinach were also delicious, though unfortunately served cold. We chose not to mention it since it was Mother’s Day, and we understand how busy restaurants can be on such occasions. Plus, we were already getting full since we ate the crab cake and salad.

   We had Sunday Mother’s Day reservations at 5:30 pm. We were seated promptly, but where we were seated, was literally freezing cold, even with my black jacket. I mentioned it to Miguel, our waiter, but our steaks and entire meal was so cold, by the time he barely turned the thermostat up. Granted, he was extremely busy, buzzing around serving other tables, but he never returned to even offer us a refill of our one glass of water, so we finished our meal with no tea or water refill. I had asked for lemons with my water, but Miguel forgot. Later, I asked another waiter who was passing by and he brought them. My plate of food was good, but being cold so fast, I decided to take half of my steak and potatoes home. The manager came by and asked how things were and very kindly, we told him it was still very cold and about our dining experience. He immediately adjusted the temperature and apologized for our less than adequate experience. He offered us complimentary desserts,$ but we kindly declined. He came back, personally, with our bill and explained that this experience was not the norm at Nick & Sam’s, so told us that he took one of our steaks off our bill. We told him we were not expecting that, but he insisted and said he hoped we would return. We assured him that we would and appreciated his kind gesture. It was very loud in the restaurant as it filled up. Nick &Sams’s has a long wait just getting up to the valet, so get there at least 20 minutes prior to your reservation. It’s very dark inside, so bring a little flashlight or cell phone in order to be able to see the menu. This is a $$$$$ restaurant, so one would expect a 5 star service. Special celebrations and occasions, celebrated at a place like Nick & Sam’s, should leave you with a feeling of extreme joy and satisfaction at the end of your dining experience. We will try it again as we were assured this was our unfortunate situation and not up to the high standards that precedes Nick & Sam’s.

    I was surprised to learn that this was a brunch buffet because open table did not mention the buffet. It was $85 and more food than I have ever seen at any buffet in my life. Staff was perfect , food was delicious. We could have gone five days straight and had something different every day. Super impressive. Perfect day for mom. We’ll make it a tradition.
