Stephen was not very attentive. My husband requested his salad dressing on the side, and a different dressing than the one that the salad came with. Neither request was fulfilled. My husband ordered the filet and was not asked how he wanted it cooked. He specifically called Stephen back to request it to be cooked more on the medium side rather than the medium rare that Stephen told him all steaks were cooked to. It was medium rare at best. We ordered drinks at the bar while we waited for our table. Bartender was fantastic and very friendly. We moved to our table and my husband requested another drink. It came out after a long wait. I was never asked if I wanted another and when I was able to get Stephen’s attention to order another, I was brought the wrong drink. I ordered ketel one orange with soda. I got ketel one citroen with soda. It was my husband’s first visit to Nick & Sam’s and to say that I’m highly disappointed in his experience would be an understatement!
The steak was a bit overcooked. I should have asked for a new one. I asked for Pittsburgh rare and they missed the mark. The service was unimpressive and drinks went dry for far too long. Not a great first visit. I ate Pappa's Bros. the night before and had an outstanding experience and perfectly cooked steak.
Good beef, very noisy ( hard to have a conversation at normal conversation volumes).
Nick & Sam's is always perfection! Consistently a stand out in the Dallas restaurant scene!
We went for my birthday dinner with my 4 year old. I was nervous with bringing a toddler but it wasn't an issue at all. Our waiter Javier was awesome. The staff were all great and went above and beyond. Food was as equally amazing.
My wife and I dined in at Nick and Sam for restaurant week. We had high hopes as it is supposed to be one of the best place to eat in DFW. We are foodies and are blessed to have dined in terrific restaurants in many different countries so we were excited about it !
We were quite disappointed in the food. Let's start with the good:
- Great service - Very attentive and friendly
- Great room- We were tucked in a smaller section with some art deco style , very nice.
The not so good, the food was a let down :-/
- The appetizers were good (Choice of spicy tuna roll and baby arugula salad with goat cheese, pear, almonds etc . ). Those were well executed and tasty.
- The entrees were definitely a let down. We both got the filet. Both were cooked as ordered. But the steak was ok taste wise, I felt like Ruth Chris or JR have better steak. I am not sure if it is because during restaurant week the cut is different from their regular menu or what.
The sauce was pretty bland (Garlic Demi-Glaze). It was too watery and did not really elevate the steak.
The mashed potatoes side were ok - Nothing to write home about but the brussel sprouts were a nice surprise - I tend not too like them and those were good.
- The desserts were the biggest let down. We got the Red Velvet and the Bread Pudding.
The plating was very average, no decoration on the plate or anything, just threw the cake on it. The Red Velvet was a bit dry and the frosting way too sweet. I was expecting at least some sort of coulis to balance that sweetness . The bread pudding was a little hard on the side and pretty bland tasting.
In the end we were quite disappointed by the quality of the food. I do not know if it is because of the restaurant week menu or not. Because of that it is unlikely that we would try their regular menu if it the same quality :/
Excellent food and wine selection. Not too much privacy in the restaurant for intimacy but excellent overall.
Anytime we have a special occasion Nick and Sams is our go to spot. Always on point and absolutely amazing. A hidden item menu is the Cotton candy tuna tower. To die for if you like tuna/avocado.
The food was amazing and service was even better. Jackson was our server- best service!

Sean was a great server. Of the four star restaurants in Dallas I’d say the food was “average” for my family. Nice experience but we weren’t impressed.
The prices, especially if you allow yourself to have a full meal (and I think you should) would be price-prohibitive for most people. But I also think most people know that going in. The quality of the food was truly outstanding. I have rarely had cuts of meat that were the equal of my dinner here. The sides and drinks were also top notch. It had a decent atmosphere and our waiter was very present and helpful when necessary.
The biggest downside to the ambiance is the lighting. It is stupidly dark, even for a nice restaurant. It is so dark that every staff member (or at least server) is required to carry a flashlight on them as part of their uniform. It's annoying and distracting. I often times had a flashlight in my face or brightening up my table which was more of an annoyance than not being able to see well. It was also very annoying not to see well. And then to see flashlights being popped on and off all over the dining room is also distracting and annoying and all this could be solved by turning up the lights ever so slightly so that people can at least read the menu.
Great food and Stephen was very attentive to us. The veal was AMAZING! Filet and bone in ribeye cooked to perfection and piping hot! Sides were yummy especially the fried broccoli.
Will be eating here again!!!

The restaurant is gorgeous and all of the staff is very friendly and professional. The steaks were cooked perfectly (we had ribeyes and filets). The quality of the beef was noticeably top notch. I felt the tuna could have had a little more seasoning although I only tried a tiny bite from a friend’s plate. It was a perfect medium rare, however. The wedge salad was a little too overdressed with blue cheese. The Caesar was very good. For sides we shared lobster Mac-n-cheese, the mushrooms and roasted Brussel sprouts. All very tasty except the sprouts were a little tough and I like the ones I cook at home better, sorry. The service was exceptional and we were seated immediately. However, we did feel a little rushed....Probably because we had early (6:30) reservations on a busy Saturday night and they expected to seat others at our table. They were booked up and this was the only time option available that would work for our group. The bill was high but what we expected. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend but tell them to book for a later time slot if possible.
The service and food were amazing!!!! When we first walked in there were a slew of ladies waiting to help us to our table. When seated our waiter Joel came over introduced him self spoke clearly and made us feel comfortable. We enjoyed when the Joel came out with the platter of meat to show us each cut and explained how they are prepared. The food was amazing!!! We will definitely go back when we are in Dallas again. Thank Joel for all the recommendations you made and help make our visits a pleasant one.
Always an incredible experience. The food last night was exceptional. One of our favorite places for sure!
Food - was fantastic!! My Girlfriend does not like meat too much and loved the steak she ordered. My "Tomahawk steak" was the BEST! Price of the food and everything we had at the table was worth every dime!
Service - was very good and the waiters (women and men) were very attentive!

The price for my bar bill seemed to be a bit more expensive than expected. I paid the bill and did not complain. Realizing for ME that the best value was to order one of the great wines they have on the menu and order the great food!

Last minute decision. Wanted a great steak. Was not disappointed. Very well prepared and the presentation was nice. Will definitely visit again. Really enjoyed my foie gras.

The steaks and other menu items are outstanding at this restaurant! I had the dry aged Cowboy long bone steak and the deviled eggs for appetizer. The cotton candy martini is so good as well!
We came here for our anniversary and had 9 pm reservations and were not seated until 9:30. We think the server forgot it was our anniversary as they didn’t seem to do anything special, such as a candle on our dessert. The manager promised to make it right next time so hopefully next time it will be better as we have heard wonderful things about this restaurant!
been to nick and sams many times,, our waiter had a large table and us. I saw him once.. had to get others for food and check. He apologized to us and said I know the service was poor.. offered free desert which I didn't want. we weren't even asked if we needed more cocktails.. really poor
Will only eat at the bar again, where I know service is good. One last thing, salads were small and not up to usual size and quality.
Best place to celebrate a special occasion. SO FUN and lively. Best birthday dessert!

The best ribeye i have ever had. The garlic mash potatoes were perfect, and the grilled vegetables were done to perfection. The service was unbelievable.
