   What an amazingly pleasant surprise... Always thought The Hawksmoor was the best for steak but clearly New Street Grill is nowhere short. The Hawksmoor probably has a bit wider selection and choice but the quality is just amazing! Ambience is good but not amazing and price is reasonable (for London standards)

   The food was beautiful, but the service was very disappointing. There were 7 of us taking a client to lunch, we explained we did not have lots of time but were not rushed. We got our meals over an hour after we arrived - noting it was a very quiet lunch service. We were not asked once if we wanted another drink. My CEO had to leave as the meals came up, so did not get to eat. One of the meals was not put through, so it was lucky that the CEO had to go as they had his meal, it would have been another 15 minutes otherwise. No real apologies were made as the waiter looking after us seemed to disappear after I asked how long our food would be - he seemed disgruntled by my question. A 10% discount was applied at no request. Let's not forget the food was lovely, just a very slow and unattentive, disappointing service.

   During my visit to New Street Grill, I had the pleasure of being guided through the wine selection by Jon, the restaurant’s exceptional sommelier. His knowledge of wine is truly remarkable, and his ability to explain each selection in an engaging and accessible way made the experience even more enjoyable.

   Great food, we both had steaks with sides which were delicious. Sat down Saturday 6:30pm which was very quiet. Staff were attentive.

   We ordered £44 steak each - the meat was mediocre, in my view. For the restaurant that calls itself grill the meat should come with grill marks on it. It was not the case. Besides, the steaks were chewy. Summary- not the best meat or cooking.

   Decor is lovely, staff polite and attentive. Very noisy and echoey hard to have a conversation. Steak was quite chewy, but the rest of the food was lovely, nice flavours. No like for like gluten free alternatives to chips, but they made a gluten free crumble which was lovely.

   Not bad by any means. Crazy hot in the restaurant but you acclimatise eventually. Fillet steak was quite chewy, but the rib eye qas very nice. Table of 7 and mixed overall feedback, seemed dependent on what you ordered. Overall pretty good. Wouldn't rush back given other venues in the immediate area

    Overall good meal, some steaks better than others, wine good, service good, restaurant half empty on a Friday night, so atmosphere/ambience non-existent. Shame.
