We had the tenderest duck breast ever, also very nice halibut and delicious appetizers.
Outstanding food, service, and dining environment! Our special night out go to place - birthdays, special occasions, out of town guests, and other celebrations.
Enjoyed the mahi mahi and venison, all well prepared. Nice birthday dinner
Each evening is a treat-best of the season with local ingredients. Every course is prepared with extra care and the delicate saucing. We are frequent flyers here!
We had delicious fish and pork dishes. Great preparation and nice setting
We had great food. Love that they have small plates so I was able to have 2! Dessert was amazing too. Definitely will go back
The noise level was due entirely to a party of 6 at a nearby table talking very loudly. Not much the restaurant could have done about that. On previous visits quiet conversation was possible.
Nell's is the favorite special-occasion restaurant for my wife and I, but pricey for more than 1 or 2 visits a year.
It was a lovely quiet dinner .
Hanger steak was too salty, rack of lamb portion was paltry. Interior is a bit old and tired. Service was fine. Location benefits from having a patio facing the park/lake.
WE love this place. it's kind of locals hangout. In the summer, you can sit outside and watch the joggers go by at Greenlake. Food is always good and thewine list is excellent.
Great food and service on every visit. Wonderful outside dining weather permitting .
This place continues to be one of the best kept secrets in Seattle. Amazing NW ingredients with a french style of cooking. Just unbelievably good!
Our Mothers Day became special at Nell's Kitchen. The proxmity to Green Lake made possible a long walj before dinner. Ambience was great. Food - I shall vouch for chicken and pork ribs. Fish - not so. This is a pricey place but the clean and crisp ambience is worth it
Upscale restaurant that focuses on what matters: the food. Expensive, yet a bargain.
Delicious food and wonderful service. Had the whole outdoor patio all to ourselves. Will definitely be back again soon
The servers were very nice, but unfortunately the food just really wasn't very good. High-quality restaurant pricing for truly standard food. We did the restaurant week menu but I will say that the wine pairing was well done! If you're looking for a fun ambience, this isn't the place. It seems to be a converted hotel lobby, and the clientele is definitely on the senior side. Nice views of Greenlake from the patio, though.
At nell's you can be assured of a pleasant dinner. Food is very good, and wine list is excellent. Service was great as I have come to expect from Nell's.
I have visited Nells a number of times and it has always been wonderful. This time though we were seated where we have never been seated before. It would have been a great location except that we were facing a black and white drawing of a woman's head bound by string with her tongue protruding. As you can imagine, this was not conducive to a relaxing meal, nor was it consistent with the quality of the food. I would recommend a visit to Nells but suggest you take a quick look at the art that you will be viewing during your meal before settling in at the table. With a bit of luck, the picture will be replaced before you get there!
What a great place. Top of the line quality food, employees VERY courteous and plenty of parking.
Price is high so be aware but it comes with quality everything.
The food and service were both outstanding! We are going back tomorrow to have exactly the same thing - asparagus salad and chicken from the restaurant week menu.
Four of us went for restaurant week and to celebrate 2 birthdays! Our food choices were delicious and presented beautifully! It was so nice to be out with good friends!
Parking is a problem. Nell's cannot help you if their lot is full.
We ordered 3 servings of the Mahi Mahi and were overcooked and dry. The lamb chops were undercooked. The service was very slow considering that the place was almost empty when we arrived at 5:45 pm for our reservation.
We have eaten there before and our experience was much better.
We had a delicious meal in almost every level. The hangar steak was by far the most fabulous steak I’ve had in eons. The service was great; the right amount of interaction and interest in our experience. Drinks were tasty. This is such a great restaurant worth going more.
Great service ! Food was superb, as always. Wines too. The place was empty so it was very romantic. We will go back soon ! Cheers !
Great service, very accommodating with a last minute reservation time change. The food was delicious and there were lots of delicious options on the menu
Great to go to a very special place to enjoy the best of local cuisine. We starred with the puréed parsnip soup which was rich in flavor , and had shaved apples to add an extra flavor - delicious!
The salads were delightful with very ripe goat cheese and delicate greens, and the fennel and beet that had great flavors with a nice crunch. The black cod was bathed in broth and surrounded by tasty beans and greens. Duck confit was fall off the bone delicious and tasty in the classic way. We were full, but shared the flourless chocolate cake and some Warre ‘s ports. We will be back soon and glad they are open during the crazy covid -19 scare!
As always Nells hit another home run. Food is inspired, innovative and delicious. We went in part to support this iconic restaurant during this virus scare. Because of this the place was appropriately “socially distanced”. Good time to go.
We always enjoy Nell’s. The food is superb and the ambience lovely.
We were the only customers during the outbreak and staff made a great, safe experience. Thank you
Tasting menu is fabulous and a lot of food.
Been going for years for our anniversary. My wife's parents went for years before us. A very fine dining experience. Exciting food.
When I have a business client in town I know I can rely on Nell's. We were very casually dressed owing to travel;, but we were served with the same professional attention.
Some entrees were”out” at 6:30 pm on Saturday night. Menu is somewhat limited.
Too much kale, Brussels sprouts in accompaniments. Disappointing relative to
Great history of excellent food.
Nell's never has an off night, it is always a pleasure.
Always outstanding - lovely waitstaff, talented & accommodating chefs, delicious food in a calm atmosphere.
The only fine dining restaurant left in Seattle with excellent food, a comfortable ambiance, and a noise level that permits conversation. Bravo chef and staff!
First time at Nells. Valentines Day pre-fixe. Food was delicious and well presented, fresh, and prepared with distinct flavors. Portion size was petite French and could be larger. Ambiance was white tablecloth formal, quiet, tables cozy next to each other. I would recommend and would go here again for an intimate, special occasion, anniversary, or Valentines Day.
So we went to Nell's for Valentine's Night. What a great choice ! Arrived at the appointed time of 6:30. Ended up with the last open table. The place was packed but almost every table was a deuce. Greeted with a glass of sparkling as we perused the prix fixe menu. Nice touch ! I started with the Lime & Ginger Marinated Scallop with Avocado. YUM ! Paired well with the sparkling. My wife did the Beet & Endive salad with Chèvre Cheese. We both proceeded to the Lobster Risotto - Killer Dish ! Our server, Gabe, paired that with a Viogner / Rousanne White Blend. Spot on again ! We both did the Grilled Iberico Pork Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Gratin. Outstanding ! I had brought a bottle of red to go with the main course. For dessert, we both opted for the Chocolate Crusted Pecan Tart with Chocolate Gelato. What a way to end the evening !!! Service was impeccable, and no charge for the bread & butter. An overall great value ! These Guys get it. We are going back, and soon !!!
Not the usual dining experience at Nell’s.
Most dishes and even the baguette bread were sort of flat. A disappointing Valentine experience. Never before did I have a disappointing dining experience at Nell’s
