Great service, very accommodating with a last minute reservation time change. The food was delicious and there were lots of delicious options on the menu
Great to go to a very special place to enjoy the best of local cuisine. We starred with the puréed parsnip soup which was rich in flavor , and had shaved apples to add an extra flavor - delicious!
The salads were delightful with very ripe goat cheese and delicate greens, and the fennel and beet that had great flavors with a nice crunch. The black cod was bathed in broth and surrounded by tasty beans and greens. Duck confit was fall off the bone delicious and tasty in the classic way. We were full, but shared the flourless chocolate cake and some Warre ‘s ports. We will be back soon and glad they are open during the crazy covid -19 scare!
As always Nells hit another home run. Food is inspired, innovative and delicious. We went in part to support this iconic restaurant during this virus scare. Because of this the place was appropriately “socially distanced”. Good time to go.
We always enjoy Nell’s. The food is superb and the ambience lovely.
We were the only customers during the outbreak and staff made a great, safe experience. Thank you
Tasting menu is fabulous and a lot of food.
Been going for years for our anniversary. My wife's parents went for years before us. A very fine dining experience. Exciting food.
When I have a business client in town I know I can rely on Nell's. We were very casually dressed owing to travel;, but we were served with the same professional attention.
Some entrees were”out” at 6:30 pm on Saturday night. Menu is somewhat limited.
Too much kale, Brussels sprouts in accompaniments. Disappointing relative to
Great history of excellent food.
Nell's never has an off night, it is always a pleasure.
Always outstanding - lovely waitstaff, talented & accommodating chefs, delicious food in a calm atmosphere.
The only fine dining restaurant left in Seattle with excellent food, a comfortable ambiance, and a noise level that permits conversation. Bravo chef and staff!
First time at Nells. Valentines Day pre-fixe. Food was delicious and well presented, fresh, and prepared with distinct flavors. Portion size was petite French and could be larger. Ambiance was white tablecloth formal, quiet, tables cozy next to each other. I would recommend and would go here again for an intimate, special occasion, anniversary, or Valentines Day.
So we went to Nell's for Valentine's Night. What a great choice ! Arrived at the appointed time of 6:30. Ended up with the last open table. The place was packed but almost every table was a deuce. Greeted with a glass of sparkling as we perused the prix fixe menu. Nice touch ! I started with the Lime & Ginger Marinated Scallop with Avocado. YUM ! Paired well with the sparkling. My wife did the Beet & Endive salad with Chèvre Cheese. We both proceeded to the Lobster Risotto - Killer Dish ! Our server, Gabe, paired that with a Viogner / Rousanne White Blend. Spot on again ! We both did the Grilled Iberico Pork Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Gratin. Outstanding ! I had brought a bottle of red to go with the main course. For dessert, we both opted for the Chocolate Crusted Pecan Tart with Chocolate Gelato. What a way to end the evening !!! Service was impeccable, and no charge for the bread & butter. An overall great value ! These Guys get it. We are going back, and soon !!!
Not the usual dining experience at Nell’s.
Most dishes and even the baguette bread were sort of flat. A disappointing Valentine experience. Never before did I have a disappointing dining experience at Nell’s
Always amazing at Nells even on a busy Valentine’s Day. Always feel special there with white table cloths, real flowers on the table, nice service and interesting flavors. A favorite place.
Restaurant has excellent food and wait staff. Decor is quite dated and kitchen looks dirty. I’m sure business would thrive if remodeled.
Never fails to delight. Care is taken with food and service.!
Love this place!!! We have been going here since we first moved to Seattle in 2009.
It had been a while since we had been to Nell’s, and we are very happy to have returned! The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, the pre-dinner Nell’s Manhattans were perfect, and the service was spot-on. One minor disappointment was that the waiter told me how delicious the sweet onion tartlet was, so I ordered it, only to be told a few minutes later that they didn’t have it on the menu that night after all. But these things happen, and there were plenty of other outstanding choices on the menu. Another huge plus is that the restaurant is very quiet, which is rare these days, we really appreciated it. We will definitely be back, and soon.
Our go - to place for quiet dinner with friends who love good food and great service
Nell’s is one of my favorite spots for a splurge dinner out—superb food, attentive service, and the restaurant is quiet enough that you can carry on a real conversation with your dinner companions : )
The food was good although my duck was somewhat over-salted. The waitstaff was wonderful. The noise levels were wonderful. It's our new favorite!
All the food was delicious but the sturgeon and lamb were exceptional! Everything was perfect from start to finish.
Excellent food and service, loved, the calamari, mahi mahi and good prices for wine.
always a white table cloth, fabulous food, and gracious service; Nells always makes us feel special even when there is no special occasion.
Nell's is the former Saleh's (Saleh al Lago) where we had our son's wedding close to 30 years ago. Nell's continued the tradition of excellent food, service and ambience. Importantly, it remains one of the few tranquil restaurants where friends (or lovers, or celebrants) can really have a conversation. We've been coming for years and bringing friends new and old to join us.
I love this place. It's full of locals and the food and wine are very reasonably priced. I'm almost afraid to praise it because it might get too crowded!
This is our "go-to" restaurant when we want to enjoy the best of fine dining.
New Year’s Eve was fantastic way to welcome 2020!
We hadn't been to Nell's for quite a while and were hoping for a great experience. Not disappointed at all. We had a great dinner, well prepared and very tasty. The service was prompt and friendly, not easy to accomplish on new year's eve. Since it was new year's eve it was somewhat noisy, but in a happy way. We chose the prix fixe menu and except for the main course we selected different options - and shared them. More tastes for each of us. Highlights: the scallops, fois gras, risotto, smoked salmon, the smoked lobster, and the rack of lamb. And the Meyer lemon tart was to die for. All in all an exceptional meal. We'll return.
Amazing food - great wine paring! Such an enjoyable evening. Thank you!
New Year’s Eve dinner
Waited 60+ minutes for our table. Terrible organization. Food was amazing though
If you like a cozy neighborhood feel, friendly staff, and outstanding food, Nell's is the palce for you. The only fly in the intment is that because it's small, and people linger to enjoy their food and the experience, the tables don't turn around quickly and at peak time you can wait 15-20 minutes even if you have a reservation. But overall, it's wonderful!
We had a very lovely meal with excellent ambience. We will be back soon.
My favorite restaurant. Good food very attentive service.
Love this restaurant! And you can always here people at your table talking. They gave great sound control
A holiday tradition of eating with family. Relaxing, cozy and very good food.
Fabulous as always. One of our favorite places. Gabriel did a great job taking care of us.
