- CChrisBSeattle / Eastern Washington •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoI had one of the best and memorable Thanksgiving dinner experiences in recent memory. I just can't say enough about how good all the dishes were plus the ambiance was great. The duck confit, the brussels sprouts, the brioche bun, everything was pretty darn amazing. I can't think of anything I didn't love!!! Thank you Carnal!!! A+++More infoCarnalPrice: Moderate• American• Bellingham•4.7

- MMargaretvipSeattle / Eastern Washington •10 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 16, 2024We had family from out of town and they'd never been to the Leader Block so we thought it would be a great place to take them for dinner. I did not know it was under new ownership but soon learned Roberto was the new owner. He was wonderful and ultra-entertaining. He has in-depth knowledge of the wines on the wine list and did not steer us wrong. I was the only one who had white wine and Roberto recommended a glass of Anthilia. It was crisp, and delicious and went nicely with the scallops and wild mushroom risotto I ordered. My dinner was great and was a perfect portion size for me. The rest of the gang had red wine. I don't know what they ordered just that they loved it, and one person bought an extra bottle to take home. Two of the people in our group had the Oso Bucco and could not stop raving about it. Another had the cioppino and he said it was outstanding. My husband had the pork loin, and he said it was flavorful but dry. My brother had the Spaghetti Alla Bolognese. He said it was good. All in all, we had a very fun evening and look forward to going back.More infoLeader Block Trattoria & BarPrice: Expensive• Italian• Ferndale•4.6

Discover Ferndale
Just north of Seattle, Ferndale offers a variety of unique restaurants and food options. While just about every type of food can be found, the area is well-known for its fresh seafood choices like smoked salmon, crab, oysters, and halibut. If you're feeling adventurous, try geoduck, a large clam only known to this area of the country. The outer part is usually eaten raw and sliced thin, while the inner body can be breaded and pan fried. It's said to have a strong ocean flavor with a clean crunch. The area is also known for the Seattle dog, a grilled polish sausage served on a toasted bun covered in cream cheese. It is often topped with onions, jalapenos, and sauerkraut or grilled cabbage. Mustard, barbecue sauce and sriracha are typical add-ons.
