- RRebeccaFresno / San Joaquin Valley •1 review5.0Dined on Feb 1, 2025I highly recommend the grilled cheese sandwich (with gruyere and brie) with the tomato bisque soup. I cannot describe how surprised I was when I tasted the soup. The best tomato soup I have ever had. I have already made plans to go back for breakfast at a later date, the eggs benedict looked amazing. The gentleman who served us was knowledgeable, kind, and engaging. The atmosphere was calm and full of life. This is my new favorite restaurant in Merced.More infoRainbirdPrice: Expensive• Californian• Merced•4.8

- OTOpenTable DinerHawaii •3 reviews4.0Dined on May 1, 2024Tesoro is a great spot, but I’d never classify them as “fine” anything. Typical Mexican food plating and flavors, nothing stands out on the food nor cocktail menu. However, great food and a fair price. 4.1/5More infoTesoro Fine Mexican RestaurantPrice: Moderate• Mexican• Turlock•3.8
Discover Los Banos
Located in the central part of California, the region known as the San Joaquin Valley is also informally known as “the bread basket of the planet” because of its wealth of locally produced agricultural products. The San Joaquin Valley is also home to a number of communities that take pride in their locally and internationally noted eating establishments. Los Banos is just such a community, and if you appreciate fine foods that originate from nations such as Spain, Japan, France, Mexico, and Italy, you’ll fit right in. Plus, if you’re in the market for some good old American fare, you’ll find many opportunities. American offerings include tender 40-ounce porterhouse fillets with shiitake sauce while Italian favorites include antipasto and pesto pasta with shaved Parmesan.
