We don’t often write reviews but wanted to share our experience because we really couldn’t find fault. A friendly welcome, superb real ales brewed by the owners and food that was really well cooked and presented. Compliments to a talented chef. We both enjoyed the hake dinner and each tried different desserts. Nanook and the Black Bear bitter were two of the best ales we’ve had for a long time. We will be back for and we’re looking forward to trying your sister establishments. Thoroughly recommended.

Overall a very nice experience. Good menu choice and food was timely and well cooked. The beer was good. A nice atmosphere in the pub and seating nicely spaced. The menu was a bit expensive, nearly £30 for a 8oz sirloin steak, with a mushroom, half a tomato, peppercorn sauce and some very nice chips. I would say it was fine dining as the portion sizes were adequate. Average price for starters and pudding was £9 although all delicious. Friendly and welcoming staff. Will go back again.

Food served speedily after ordering. Presentation was great. Food was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place and will certainly return. Thanks
