Horsted Keynes Restaurants

Attended The Farmers for Sunday lunch. We enjoyed the Roast Dinner, my son enjoying the “All 3 roasts for an extra £2.50”. The Yorkshire puddings were huge! My husbands roast beef was a little tough. I thoroughly enjoyed my dessert of salted caramel sticky toffee pudding 😋. Our two whippets were made a fuss of by staff and guests, and had plenty of room to relax under the table.

My husband enjoyed his real italian pizza and the wine (Merlot) was excellent. I had the tagliatelle salmone which was delicious. We have not been to this restaurant for many years for all sorts of reasons (nothing to do with the food there) but the restaurant is as good as it was. We need to go more often. Lovely evening and would go again. Highly recommended.

We always enjoy our visit to The Cat, the staff ate exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and the room No.3 is cosy and offers an interesting view of the church and village street. The lightly spiced cod was delicious, along with the rest of the dish, and the blue cheese arricini was an interesting and pleasant taste to begin the meal. Breakfast was as good as normal with options to suit our tastes. Most enjoyable, as always.

We were down to four members of our walking group visiting the Hatch Inn today as our other two members were bird watching in Norfolk. Our walk this week was still on the Forest Way as ground conditions are atrocious. Once again we were warmly welcomed at the Inn. This time we enjoyed Hake, a lovely pork chop, a suit pudding of venison and I had a Southern Indian curry which I have had before and found to be delicious. Different staff this time but still very attentive. I am sure we will be back but that is dependent as to where we are walking.
