- DDavidBaltimore / Maryland •14 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoI am so glad we chose the Ebbitt Room for our special meal in Cape May. We arrived about a half hour early for our reservation which gave us the opportunity to have a couple cocktails at the bar. The bartenders did a great job with the cocktails. Once seated, we had our dinner and I have to say, some of the things we had are definitely on my "10 Best Things I ever ate" list. That is saying a lot, because I am a dedicated foodie. Some favorites: the rabbit appetizer, the steak, and the scallops. The staff was attentive, friendly and efficient. It was a rather expensive meal, but very much worth the cost. We will definitely return here when we return to Cape May.More infoThe Ebbitt Room at the VirginiaPrice: Very Expensive• American• Cape May•4.7
- JJohnPhiladelphia County •25 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIn my opinion, this is the absolute best restaurant in Cape May. I am culinary trained, have worked the line and have the hardest time going out to eat without being too critical, lol. Dining room is spacious, not boisterous and not overcrowded (I hate when I’m sitting too close to next table.) I fell in love with a server Godfrey years ago and he was part of what made the Washington Inn special to me. This was first time back without him but our server Miles was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of the menu and ingredients coupled with his expert service was enjoyable. Provided the extras we requested and we didn’t wait for a thing. The “Fromage” recommendation was stellar 😋 For appetizers we had: Colors of the Garden Salad, my GF/partner had that and she said it was delicious and she enjoyed the dressing Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, seasoned perfectly, rich and creamy, the sweet tartness of the cherry along with gastrique balanced well atop the semolina cake. Steak Tartare, well flavored and seasoned, the quail egg add a richness and the aioli a creaminess that match the textures well. Spread on the crostini it was an excellent bite. Entrees: Creekstone Ranch Short Rib, all the vegetables were perfectly tender and flavorful. The sauce wonderfully and perfect additional to the slow braised short rib which was melt in your mouth delicious. Roasted East Coast Halibut, cooked and seasoned perfectly very well, as were the calamari and clams that accompanied. The thai coconut tom kha broth was creamy, sweet and superb. The only thing I felt this dish needed was a crostini type component to soak up the broth, Miles fixed that with a semolina crostini. Dessert: Bananas Foster, live their take on it, absolutely delicious. Fromage with passion fruit coulis. Likely one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. Perfect in every sense of a dessert. Never had a a cheese whipped like that. Dessert chef is a genius. The grapefruit they had in it was true perfection.More infoWashington InnPrice: Expensive• American• Cape May•4.8

The team of staff from hostess, bartenders and wait staff are extraordinary in today’s world, it’s challenging to find young people who truly enjoy what they do! - BBobNew Jersey •50 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoLove this restaurant. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. The food is very good and the service is the best. We'll return!! One drawback is the expense. Prices have risen especially for the "specials". Find a way to provide good value at a lower price. Other restaurants do it!More infoSapore ItalianoPrice: Expensive• Italian• Cape May•4.6
