El Jacmel Inn se abrió en junio de 1977, después de 6 meses reformando el establecimiento en el que se encuentra, construido en 1888. Este establecimiento antiguo de 2 plantas ocupa casi 1 hectárea y se sitúa a 9 calles del centro histórico de Hammond. El exuberante paisaje, el nuevo patio y el amplio aparcamiento hacen del Jacmel Inn un oasis culinario al que merece la pena ir, a solo 96 kilómetros de Nueva Orleans. El menú de platillos ha evolucionado a lo largo de los años, pero siempre utiliza marisco fresco de Luisiana y técnicas de cocina y platillos derivados de la cultura tradicional de Luisiana. Hace 31 años que sirve filetes excelentes de res de Iowa alimentada con maíz. El chef Doyle Orlando crea un menú de platillos que cambia cada temporada. My husband and I each had a filet and ordered them medium rare. They were cooked perfectly! And they were so tender! The homemade onion rings were delicious too! We both enjoyed our meals.

Celebrating birthday and wanted to do something local. Just haven’t been impressed with ‘the steak house’ restaurant. Haven’t been to buddies in a few years. Very concern after reading so many negative reviews. So glad I did not let that influence me. My filet was the most tender that I can recall from any restaurant! It looked small for a 8 oz but the tenderness was way more than expected. Husband had the ‘stack’, he said it was good but next time would get filet. He said mine was better! I read comments on value and for this type grade of restaurant, of course, it’s not cheap. No quality restaurant is! It’s a higher end restaurant so of course it’s not McDonald’s price!!! It is compatible to any high end restaurant. It is expensive going out anywhere but for the price haven’t had a better filet & a garlic sauce. Friday night and all the servers were also higher end. Get what you pay for.
