    I’ve been to this restaurant twice now and it’s been wonderful each time. The wait staff are attentive and provide a great dining experience. The food is fresh and well prepared with a great flavor profile. The prices aren’t outrageous for what you’re getting. It’s a cozy, but inviting space with a nice wine selection.

    Really unique experience. The decor is adorable and the staff were friendly. It’s expensive so it’s not a going to be a regular place for me but a couple times a year for sure. The food was delish! Located in the cute downtown of Placerville.

    My wife and I had another fantastic experience here with food and service. While we will be back many times in the future, probably not on a Friday or Saturday because of the substantial noise. It’s so loud in this restaurant that our ears were ringing and our throats were hoarse when we left. You must be at near full volume for your dinner date to at best barely hear you. We sat in our car for a few minutes afterwards just enjoying the silence. It’s a real issue with this restaurant.

    Another wonderful experience at The Independent restaurant. What I love about this place is our server was busy serving another table and I was able to get assistance from the other servers who were all willing to just be helpful to everyone. Wonderful atmosphere. And wonderful food.

    All meals were really good...wedge salad, calamari, crab cakes, prime rib, by steak, mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, baked potato fresh bread and glass of Pinot Noir. Waitress did excellent job accommodating special request from us 3 guests.
