A favorite Southwest Virginia landmark, The Farmhouse Restaurant has served the New River Valley since 1963. The authentic farm house, originally part of the Ridinger Estate, was build in the 1800's. In the early 1970's, an old train caboose was added to provide a unique dining area. We ordered the special, Birria tacos, and they were delicious! I was a bit concerned about how spicy/hot they might be, and the waiter immediately offered to bring me a sample of the broth in which the meat is simmered, and it was not an issue at all. Also, when we ordered the wine, he offered to bring us a sample of that, as well. Our side was Brussel sprouts and they were cooked to a crispy perfection. We decided to have them plain, without the sauce, and they were very good. Definitely a 5 star dining experience.

Our entire experience at Twisted Liquid was outstanding. From service to cocktails to appetizers to entrees...everything was perfect! A particular shoutout for my crabcake donut (OMG, so yummy)! Sad my son is graduating so we won't have as many opportunities to enjoy this very cool downtown, yet somehow hidden, treasure.
